4K 60p crop (S35 pixel by Pixel) => NOPE, 10Bit => Yep, 4,2,0 = NOPE
Same AF => NOPE.
Looking for the GH6.
Just realized that, if by mistake you leave your camera bag in your trunk (car) for just an hour in summer... you would not even be able to shoot in HQ or 8K... Well done Canon! In Japan now it is over 29c everyday and we are still in the rainy season... Can’t imagine shooting with that in a few weeks
Business idea! R5 and R6 re-housing for Cinema/Video makers ;-). I am sure that some smart and gifted people can "unleash" the R5 and R6 video power with a new housing.
1. Wait for Apple to release an update of FCPx
2. Do like most people do (and what I am actually doing with my GH5) transcode when importing to ProRes.

There´s also a Gimbal vs Steadicam section in this video
For me the Steadicams will always outperform a Gimbal... the movements you can get from a steadicam are just amazing... Still I own a Gimbal and not a Steadicam and this simply because I am bad at operating a Steadicam...
Just saw that this afternoon on AV Watch Japan http://stkb.co.jp/info/?p=4356 That really cool... I wish Metabones could do something similar for M43.
Thank you for this topic as I wanted to create one asking about this camera.
Sor far DJI has always fell on me and I m tired of their XXX = Bought a Ronin that barely worked, OSMO with X3 : Crappy Camera, Osmo Mobile : 4K problems and can't access video files if you do not have the Osmo mobile turned ON! (Each time I returned what I purchased after a week.
BUT... the Osmo was a really good Gimbal, the X3 Camera was crap. So I am really looking to get some nice feedback on the X5 before doing anything. The Osmo with a X5 is a nice combo, better and easier to carry around than my GH4 or GX7MKII and a Came TV Single for example.
I am personally really fan of Olympus lenses. The color you get from these lenses are really good, at least on my 7-14mm. Otherwise I like the 12-35, 35-100 and 12mm F1.4.
So the question is, will it take descent videos in 4K 30p? As I am reading everywhere that only the 24p mode was acceptable...

is the 2.5x crop true?
These kind of videos are... useless. A nice fellow, but he just rehash what we read on the net and did not even bother going to Photokina (not that expensive), as a real journalist should do, and talk to the people from Panasonic there to get all the details and bring something that was not yet said or confirmed. Waist of time, just click bait.
He could even had taken his own videos and photos of the beast instead of relying on other's work...
Sorry if I sound rude, but I have (now sold) ran a modest tech website in English and French from Japan on Japanese tech and being on the go to cover press event or show like these where our first priority to get something that others were too lazy to get.

there is always 12-40 and 12-35 for constant aperture
12-60 f2.8-f4 is the perfect travel/semi-pro lens for me!
Looks like Panny is microsizing Oly's 43 lens which is a welcome addition.
Sure, I won't sell my 12-35 and 35-100 anytime soon and now I will go and get a 7-14 F2.8 from Olympus... (Still have the metabones and Sigma option) but these lenses looked really nice... the combo 8-18 and 12-60 was perfect for me... with fix A

WOW.... I ordered one as my G4S for GoPro need to go back to China... (It was starting to tilt on the right after 5 minutes loosing balance). I hope it will work nice with the new iPhone 7 video ;-)On 9/6/2016 at 9:36 PM, Andrew Reid said:
I think I'd rather shoot with the 5 axis IBIS of Panasonic / Olympus and have a proper image
Now sure how can get good result with that.
Yesterday I gave it a try with a 7-14 (no IS) and the GX7MKII (No 5 axis as the internal Ibis does 3 axis) and the result was just catastrophic when walking, even smoothly. Pictures were horribly distorted and IBIS was not able to cop with me walking. Things are MUCH better however when you mount an IS Lens on the GX7MKII (you have 2+3 axis = 5Axis).
I, unfortunately, rely a lot on ND Filters as I do not know how to do otherwise. If anyone got an Idea or know a place when I can see and learn how to do that (getting ride of ND filters) then please by all means let me know!

I hope they have fast enough sensor for that.
Talking about sensor, there were an old rumour about that here :
“Sony has an 18.9mm*13mm M43 sensor designed for Panasonic that could be used in GH5. Very high-end, 24 channel super fast readout speed that BIONZX could not keep up with. Only Panasonic can fully unleash the potential of this chip right now.”

It was never a group, it was just one guy: VK.
After VK hacked, then others released various different flavors of patches. But they never did the core hack work themselves.
And for many many years since then VK has done nothing. So it is 100% reasonable to expect we will not see another Panasonic camera hacked again :-/ :-(
Pity, as the GH platform would have definitively something to gain if a group of ppl like ML worked on it.
The hack was simple, but it really helped me to get better video out of my GH1.
Yeah, what happened on this front? I hacked my GH1 to get more BR and it was really cool. Did Pana went berserk on the group of guy who did it? ML made some amazing improvement over what did Canon, would have been nice to have this ported to Panasonic too.

"Canon has designed a DSLR that does what 80-90% of the market needs. I’ve said this before until i’m blue in the face too: Not everyone needs 4k! 4k video is still such a small hunk of the market. Growing but Canon’s growing into that market too"
Wow, he basically outright admits the 5Dmk4 is **NOT** a 4K camera! Ha
Fair enough, I could probably agree with that as an honest assessment of the 5Dmk4. But that is not what Canon is trying to spin it as! And as a camera that will have 4+ years on the marketplace as one of their leading products, that is a very sad situation by Canon.
If indeed Canon did a camera for 80-90% of the Market and that not everybody needs for 4K, why did they put 4K in this camera in the first place and botch it in a way that make them look so bad?
Why didn't they work on offering an amazing HD Capable Camera tailored for people who really used this kind of camera the way that Canon think they do? the MKII had HD because at this time Canon wanted to give part of its target (Journalists) a camera capable to not only be used to shoot pictures at Events, Press Conf and so on, but also a Camera capable to grab videos that can be later be used on the Web or TV.
It would have made SO MUCH sense for them to stick with HD and bring a AMAZING HD Capable camera than this non-sense of MJPEG 4K monstrosity. NO one in the field have time to waste to transcode MJPEG to send to their HQ when covering an event. Some of us would not liked it, but at least it would have make sense and we could at least respect their choice because of this argument : The 5D MKIV is not a video camera, this is a Pro oriented DLSR matching today's needs when it comes to provide ready to use HD Video to broadcast and not for filmmakers (Please have a look at our EOS C line for film and other documentaries).
As for the section saying that Not everyone needs 4K, I strongly disagree and this at many levels.

Because the XC10 has a small detail called cooler fan......
I was not aware of this fact.
My Canon EOS R5 recording 8K video 50 minutes straight
With all the information you have now, there is two line of actions
1. Soft : Contact the consumer protection org of your country and start to talk to them.
2. Hard : Depending where you are located from : Class action.
I am sure that as soon as the "Legal" heat start to turn on Canon things will move.
I was supposed to get that camera and was expected Canon to screw us somewhere but did not expect this at all.
