  1. The in body IS in the EOS-R is much better than doing it in post. It works flawlessly without the wobbly artifacts you get when doing it in post. To be honest, the in body IS is a game changer.
  2. Will upload it this or next weekend. I have so far only used it in HD mode, so yes.
  3. Imo the in body stabilization in the EOS-R is better than IBIS. Works perfectly without wobbly artifacts.
  4. There is no crop on the EOS-R when shooting video. It's full frame. When using the digital IS there is a slight crop, but very minimal. So not wasting any glass at all.
  5. It's a fact. Not anything to doubt. Otherwise they wouldn't make them. This guy gets it I never shoot 4K on it but could you explain why it's extra needed on the EOS-R? I find the iso very satisfying and don't see why it needs more lighr than any other camera.
  6. Sure, if you only care about sdof. It's strange that aperture always center's around DOF when light is the biggest difference. IMO, with a faster lens I can achieve the same deep dof as you at both a wider and a tighter shot. I'm not after shallower DOF, Im after the same DOF. And let in more light. All it does really is give you more options. I get why f1.8 is fine. I use it all the time. But I never say more options is overkill. Sometimes I want a kinda deep dof that barley isolates the subject, but with a wide shot. And most of all, I need the light. For me lighting the scene is rarely an option.
  7. I agree, but that opinion can get you yelled at on this and other forums
  8. I compared my EOS-R next to the A7sii yesterday. Used slog2 ,3 and cine2.The Sony was artifact city. Maybe the A7iii is better.
  9. We often hire a freelancer that always gets into the Olympics, I can ask him the next time he drops by. He is just a one man band, no employees or anything so its comparable.
  10. To clarify once again, the Metabones Speedbooster for Sony E-Mount was popular, used by many and recommended by several reviewers to be used on the Full frame A7x. We are talking about niche stuff here. Most that uses an adapter and definitely speed boosters are a minority of camera nerds. You can't apply what the general public like to stuff like speed boosters. Because they don't buy it anyway. Metabones entire business idea is to cater to camera nerds like us that are willing to jump through all kinds of hoops. I can confirm the opposite
  11. Well. there are plenty of speed boosters for as small sensors as the m4/3, BMPCC s16 all the way down to Pentax Q. So Im sure they will sell just fine.
  12. Its not only possible its already been done on Sony and Fuji. And I have confirmation several different focal reducers are in the making for the EOS-R as well as the Z6/7 :)
  13. @thephoenix Not on the XT3 but it worked pretty sweet on the XH1. Expect it to be similar on the t3.
  14. Nope. Just hit record. Fro showed it already in Hawaii and that sealed the deal on my preorder. In my review I will spend a lot of time raving about the different ways and options when switching between stills and video. Even when using the two press method its waay faster than turning the dial on a Sony or Fuji.
  15. Thats one of the reasons I did the X-Pro2. You can just hit record at any time. Also one of the reasons I got the EOS-R.
  16. I never use auto focus but have tried it on my EOS-R in case I would ever need it. Does anyone have any tips on what I need to do to get it to miss as much as some seem to do? I'm always curious to provoke weaknesses so I can learn to avoid them. But so far I haven't been able to replicate the issue.
  17. I dont agree, neither does people I've spoken to that have been in charge of designing cameras color science. So lets just agree to disagree.
  18. It sure can, so does it for jpegs.
  19. Testing color science for jpeg makes little sense imo. Raw is what matters.
  20. Can someone that have watched the video summarize how that shows why its ok to look the other way about Sony shortcomings but not Canon?
  21. I totally understand. Even if it was just two lemons a thing like this just puts a strain on the trust in the camera. For casual use I can live with quirkiness but for work I need to know the gear is 100% at all times. This is why I didn't keep my a6300 or bought the a6500. I got three lemon a6300 from separate batches.. the trust is gone.
