  1. It's available for pre-order at my local camera store as well as on eBay with world wide shipping. The price is $359
  2. That was not my intention. Sorry if that's how it came of.
  3. The waiting list for new orders here is only one week, so stocks around the world will probably be filled soon. No need to rush the decision imo.
  4. I think it's a bit bigger than 90mm. Haven't measured. But for the price it's forgivable.
  5. I had the 90mm f2. Great lens but this bad boy is just so darn affordable. The new firmware cleared up all bugs and as a bonus increased the focus speed.
  6. Not sure what it has to do with the post you quoted but that is good news for the a6400 users indeed.
  7. It would need a lot more than usable AF for me to choose it over CaNikon for video. But as always I am rooting for it to get there.
  8. What goes around comes around. I think a tiny little thread to balance the thousands and thousands of trolls and paid commenters is ok. It can be a place for us camera agnostics to ventilate a little frustration
  9. They have nothing better to do while recharging the batteries for the seventh time that day
  10. Today I got a message from Viltrox saying that a firmware fix is indeed in the making. Not that I doubted they would, but still reassuring. Also, I saw both the Auto Focus version for Sony and Fuji available for preorder at my local camera shop and this is one affordable lens. As a comparison it cost less than even the 27mm.. Straight from the source online its going to be even cheaper.
  11. Imo there is so much more to a lens than aperture.
  12. These are HD frame grabs with the Mamiya 80mm and 55mm + Medium Format Speedbooster. My current favorite lens to use is the 150mm f3.5. The crop factor ends up at x0.7. Still working out the shipping details but it looks like I will test it on the MAVO soon.
  13. A little update. The AF with the X-E3 is as expected much faster and more accurate. The beep still comes a little quicker than the actual focus so its best turning the beep off (I have it off anyway). Sadly, still no aperture control.. Ive emailed Viltrox so hopefully I will have an ETA on a firmware soon. I have however talked to another user who claims all is well on the X-T3. PS. The lens is really, really sharp edge to edge with creamy bokeh.
  14. I'm testing it on a XE3 this afternoon so I can report back tonight about the AF.
  15. If anyone wants a cheap option to the 90mm f2 I can report that the Viltrox 85mm f1.8 Auto Focus lens is seriously sharp and the bokeh is very creamy. I've been shooting with it all day and enjoying it. I will test it on the X-T3 and X-T20 tomorrow or Monday to see how the AF works on modern bodies (I'm using the old Xpro1).
  16. Just started playing with the Viltrox Auto Focus 85mm f1.8 for Fuji. It is very sharp and well built. Have only tried it on a X-Pro1 so far, which doesn't exactly do it justice. But I will try to get hold of a newer Fuji soon. Could be an alternative for portrait shooters on a budget.
  17. You might have to enable "shoot without a lens" in the menu. It's the same on all cameras basically.
  18. It sounds like you missed a lot actually. Didn't you read the article?
  19. Super helpful! I left my computer at work but will get on it first thing in the morning. Thanks again!
  20. Yeah if you could send a one or two clips of HD that would be extremely appreciated. Maybe of a person from portrait distance? But I would be happy with anything. Thanks! (The natural picture profile is the one I use on the R and would match it to.)
  21. Yeah Im 99% certain that I will tell them to buy the R + 24-105. Saw someone with the adapter a few weeks back, but it seems to trickle out rather slowly.
  22. Seems cool but personally I would never trust an a6xxx again. Been burned to many times.
  23. Cool, given that its been severely cropped and still remain some detail it looks good. Yes, I love it. Dead silent, no wobble and I don't have to remember to turn it off. The crop is negligible, intercuts nicely with FS7 4K. I really hope the manufactures keep advancing EIS because it was nice on the 6Dmkii and really nice on the R. Either way I have decided to get another R instead of the RP simply because I do use the 8fps shooting mode sometime. I often don't use CAF so the 5fps on the RP is plenty. But using CAF in 8fps with an awesome hit rate on the R, in raw, with what feels like an unlimited buffer has saved me many times already. Might as well dubble up on that feature. So thanks anyway! (Still might get an RP for private use since I miss the 6Dmkii image and would love to try my medium format speed booster on it.) BTW here is an EOS-R video a fellow shared in the R FB-group. All handheld with the 35mm f1.8 and just the lens IS. A good option if one is afraid of the negligible crop EIS gives at the normal setting. And given how many EF lenses have great IS.. plenty of stabilization to go around imo.
  24. Anyone with a Canon RP that can shoot some HD and share the file? Or anyone seen any HD samples online from someone that knows what they are doing? I need to buy a b-camera for work. Will be used a lot for video so the R is still the perfect match from what I've seen. But the RP seems to have the same readout as the R with absolutely no rolling shutter as well as the in body stabilization and of course the colors. But I wonder if it's the same HD file as the 6Dmkii? If so I might as well go for the 6Dmkii or another R. Curious to see if the new processor has stepped it up. I've searched but not found much HD footage. Anyone else seen any or have the camera?
