  1. In this stage its uncertain if such an adapter would have electronics. For me that would make almost no difference but thought I would mention it so there are reasonable expectations. However, that Comlite has a third party adapter with electronics, that works flawlessly btw, is a good sign.
  2. Stay tuned If so, what mount would you prefer? Im thinking EF since well EF, but also adaptable to Nikon, C/Y, Pentax K and m42.
  3. The XH1 is a great camera, I really wanted to keep it. But that grip.. In the store it was awesome, just like a chunky DSLR, which I like. But over time I started to hate it and eventually sold it. X-E3 is still my favorite Fuji.
  4. I use it for paid sports shooting as my A-cam. 8fps gets me where I need to be and the seamless switch to video is perfect for hybrid shooting. Ive talked to a few others that are all buying EOS-Rs as B-cams so they can put them on the floor with remote triggers without having to use silencers (league rules). Two of them where contemplating Sony and Fuji but as soon as they found out they can use their existing lenses the discussion was over. (only pro sports, never shoot any high schools, college leagues or stuff like that. Enthusiasts and amateurs probably don't have any such problems.)
  5. True. But it's not allowed to discuss a Canon camera in a normal matter on this forum. So we all have to do our part to keep the psychotic drama going.
  6. Like I said. If you don't know how to properly expose in those situations without resorting to bracketing or flash then I'm sorry, a new camera isn't going to help you. You need to practice instead of buying stuff.
  7. Ahh the old my smartphone can take the same pictures as any camera argument. That's why all pro shooter's have switched to smartphones ? Regarding DR it's probably like the 6Dmkii which has excellent DR. My take, a shooter that can't get great looking images with either camera needs to get to work. Because it's not the camera that sucks..
  8. Buying a camera when the competition can't match the specs = zombie ?
  9. Yes, I use it as my main video camera at work. It's perfect for it. Have shown it in huge projections intercut with the FS7. Only visible difference is the Sony colors. I haven't shot any casual video like the NX1 stuff but probably will shoot something for the speedbooster review I'm working on. I can PM you some video examples I've done tomorrow. So far the DPAF has worked with all my EF glass including those two. I've only used AF on one project so far, just for fun. But I might have a project with gimbal shots in the pipe.
  10. The C100 still produces great looking images, both in it's own merits as well as compared to newer gear. Very tempted by the used prices these days. What keeps me away is that my R also has a really nice C-log image but FF with stabilization and soon built in variable ND. Would love to have the XPRs though.
  11. I can count the pros I've come across not shooting CaNikon for stills on one hand. And I'm one of them, so maybe four in total when excluding myself.
  12. Yup, some are just easily triggered and rather have an endless debate about Canon instead of spending time using their Sony, Panasonic or what have you. Why Canon brings out such strong emotions I will never understand. I never see the same behavior in threads about other brands, even though they have just as many shortcomings and are holding back etc. And their users aren't being called snobs or apologists. It's like an online mass psychosis. Entertaining at times but mostly exhausting.
  13. I can ask them about it. They make so many adapters its crazy. For the R and Z its over 100 different adapter combinations in the pipe so far..! And they do crazy stuff like the CaNikon adapter for EF to Z.. say what! Yup, just like the one I already reviewed but with Canon Colors and crisp video instead of the imo usable, but so and so A7 HD. I plan to do all that, just need to shoot with it for a while. I plan on bringing it to a world cup horse jumping competition, that could be fun.
  14. It works fine, image looks good. The IS isn't as good as with native glass and you don't get the arrows for focusing but the peaking is enough given that its f2.4 at the fastest. No. The meter still works as expected and aperture priority, etc. But no data so there is no indication of lens used in the exif. No its a Medium Format speedboster Don't know, Ive never tried the 4K setting. In FF the crop factor of the camera with the reducer is x0.7 so I guess deduct that from what ever the 4K crop is. With my MF glass like the 80mm f1.9 its best described as "Epic" and with my new favorite, the 150mm f3.5 its "Pure Class"
  15. Pentax Q announced 8 years ago have several lenses with built-in NDs and leaf shutters. Even the kit lenses. So it's at least not unheard of
  16. Canon does what Canon does. Vote with your wallet, that's what I do. Until the competition can release a FF camera, with in body IS, no RS, no overheat, a lens line that matches EF, good stills performance, top display, tilt screen, good battery, nice colors, crisp HD, optional log and good audio, my money is safe with Canon for pro video and still photography. For hobby use I can think of at least 50 cameras I would enjoy more. Currently I'm back with good old Pentax. Makes even Sony look like the most conservative company out there
  17. Pretty interesting that so many thought a cheap entry level camera would be more featured than the more expensive mid tier.
  18. It's not as good as a full steadycam rig or the best gimbals. But imo better than any Glidecam I've seen. They asked if I wanted to test it.
  19. Yes I have one. No I don't think they have released it yet, its a crowd funding project. Dont have to worry about batteries. Its not as versatile as a gimbal, can't turn it upside down. But for 99% of all the shots I would use a gimbal for it works just fine. No jitters like my Moza Air get from time to time. Its kinda like a glidecam but not as annoying to get steady. Easier to use imo.
  20. IMO, The EOS-R is proof that mirrorless wasn't totally obsolete. Nikon also made a really good camera but it didn't reach all the way. Fuji's top release was the X-E3 A7iii was the "Meh" of the year. The BMPCC4K is obviously the BMCCii, and thus a bit late to the party. Looking forward to 2019 and the release of 2018s biggest announcement, the GRiii.
