  1. The 23/2 is my favorite of the three small WR primes. Its fast and has a nice image. When I was exclusively shooting Fuji the 23/2 + 56mm was my base kit.
  2. Link? Everything Ive read prior says it aint so. Im just curious.
  3. All is good my man, I never hold grudges more than 5min/time. Life is too damn good (and short) It sounds as if the 16-55 might be for me. Im finally getting the 90mm f2 today and thinking that the two together would be a killer combo.
  4. Lol, called it! Note: This is probably of no interest to anyone that isn't living in Sweden or has too much time to waist. I chose to preorder my EOS-R at a store that had 15% off on everything as a weekend deal. They also gave me almost the same value on my 6Dmkii (2-3000 clicks) as a trade in compared to what I paid brand new (bought it on a fire sale). The store in question is a legit chain, not a grey market or anything, but known for less than perfect customer service. As we know the camera has been out for a couple weeks now. Accept where I bought it. All the other stores in Sweden have had it in stock since day one. Including a couple located 1-3 blocks from "my"store. My suspicion was that they where holding of until October 18 when they had a scheduled "launch" of the camera in the store with a demo and Canon reps attending. Today is October 18. And my camera just shipped My question is, what where they thinking? Of all the people ready to switch to and/or buy the EOS-R, how many haven't done it already? Who is looking forward to see a launch of a camera that's been on display ready to try one block down the street for weeks? And given that the store has a pretty bad reputation... Personally I don't care, I wasn't in a hurry. Im more interested from a perspective of working in marketing and communication. To make an analogy, its like if Canon released a crippled camera
  5. How would you compare them if both had IBIS (x-h1) and they cost similar (buying used)? Im thinking about the 16-55.
  6. For Run n Gun ibis is "nice" by not "need" when I shoot. AF for video is of no use to me unless its a really bad focus by wire. Mf is at least for me faster, more accurate and has better tracking.
  7. My only complaint is the step down from being able to hit record to first having to switch drive mode. They also need to add saved video settings. The silent mode hack isn't good enough. Other than that, no complaints. Really like F-Log.
  8. My thoughts* on why it haven't been mentioned as much as some might have expected. Firstly because almost no one cares. Because of the second reason. I think its something thats easy to forget simply because we are so used to it. After owning the BMPC4K and D16 with global shutters I see it a bit like, "what else is new". I mean its not like my X-H1 is miles better, its there and I work around it, like I do with all still cameras. Its like the A7iii not having a top display. In my mind, at that price point, its a serious WTF!!! But I'm not upset reviewers aren't mentioning it. Because it is what it is. It doesn't really need pointing out. Battery life is another example. Some mirrorless are even praised for having good battery life. When in reality, compared to a DSLR, its absolute sh.t. But now days it has to be reeally bad to get noticed. Aliasing as well. *Just my thoughts. Not defending rolling shutter. Not paid by Canon. Never been to Hawaii.
  9. That sucks. Youtube really are aweful when it comes to communication on subjects like these. I once tried to report a video that went so far in slandering another person that it was pretty much illegal. I was unable to file the report as "difference of opinion" isn't grounds for removal... ok one can go to jail for it but not get the holy video removed.. sigh.
  10. Just looked around a little and found the f1.2 LTM version for sub $1k, Its a "buy now" so Im sure they can be found cheaper. Still thinking about pulling the trigger to try and spice up the X-H1 and M-RF adapters will happen. Would be cool on my dream camera that is now reality. The Leica M10-D. I loved the idea of an M-D but not based on the 240. Thats now fixed. I also loved my R-D1 with a regular advance lever instead of a noisy and battery consuming motor. That is also fixed. Now I just need to win the lottery
  11. They needed the time stamps and other information in the original report. I suggest making a new one. When ever my videos are stolen its an easy process to get them taken down. But the report needs to be thoroughly filled. EDIT: sorry didn't see the end. Try having a friend do it from their account.
  12. Norwegian Air has wifi on all flights. Slow as snails but forums are usually light on the browser.
  13. He is an entertainer of sorts I guess. Considered the Donald Trump of YouTube. Strong opinions and willing to shape facts if needed. Ive been watching ever since he attacked me for saying the NX1 is a decent camera. He doesn't make reviews per say, since they are often done within hours of receiving the camera. But he is pretty funny. He is a hardcore Fuji fan and saves me the trouble of reading rumor sites, he makes videos about them instead. And ads a bit of drama to it Someone should send him that misspelled Fuji menu from the other thread. He loves to make videos about that kind of stuf
  14. He has been caught stealing other photographers photos and passing them as his own. Troll forums then denies it even when presented with evidence. Lied about Maarten and then encouraged his viewers to attack him... still, pretty cool exposure.
  15. Sony did the same thing with the launch of the A7iii, free trips and boose fur alles. Ans it still seems to sell well. I honestly don't think consumers care ir even notice. People are usually genuinely surprised when I tell them there is a camera community and reviewers.
  16. $3K.. damn, I passed on one for $700 a few months back. Should have gone for it Kipon said they soon will have a lot of adapters for it. You probably will be able to get the 35mm f0.95 on there.
  17. @Andrew Reid yeah its all f1.1. I could have glued it in that position. Another option for you as travel safe option to the Leica f1 is the Canon 50mm 0.95, ,1.0 or 1.2 (I think those are the models). Also a mojo-beast. That Minolta is on my Radar.
  18. Calculated risk? If they had given it to you, you might have spent zero dollars since the house would have been to expensive. Just a theory. All I know from interviews is that they are very long term. Someone quoted a Canon rep saying something like, "We didn't spend the money and effort on the RF.mount just to make the EOS-R". There will most likely be more to come.
  19. EDIT: remembered I did a video as well. Also in my latest M8 video its pretty much 7artisans only.
  20. Really looking forward to seeing what they cook up Most businesses decisions in all companies, canon included, are based on $$$
  21. No I didn't. Read the posts again without defensive glasses on. I was just answering "why" I think they haven't bothered. With your logic I could say that you are implying that no still photographer is using full frame. But I wouldn't because its an open discussion and not a battle. Its not an argument nor an excuse.
