keeping the 5D3 for sure. full frame RAW for $1600 (bought a used one) is hard to beat. selling my BMCC and BMMCC.

Yeah, I've had an EVA1 for quite a while. It's a plastic shell around a magnesium alloy frame. You can see it if you watch Wooden Camera's video for swapping the EF mount with their PL mount. No complaints about build quality here.

@Liam i agree with everyone else lol
fwiw, heres how things have gone with me lately...
i recently got a lot of good feedback in this thread about length regarding a proposed episodic series of short pieces
long story short (pun intended), i decided that id be better off with a short film – under 10 min. i figured that i could boil down my ideas into a shorter piece. so i wrote something, 10 pages, and although it came out ok... i just wasnt in love with it. its not me. my original concept was for a horror thing with verrryyy slow shining like pacing, and trying to turn that piece into something much shorter just didnt work for me. i have to borderline love anything i write in order to try to shoot it, and what i had come up with felt cliched, and at the least, something someone else could write
but doing all that was really good for me. once i saw things clearly i released my grip on that concept, and then was my paw was open to receive new blessings of filmmaking!!!
and somehow all that stuff totally resulted in me coming up with something almost completely different:
    • its short as can be, like 5 min or less ( = easier)
    • theres no dialogue ( = omg easy)
    • theres ~3~ characters instead of like 14
    • theres one location instead of many
    AANND
    • MOST OF ALL, i like it way better. it feels like something id make, as opposed to something thats kinda forced
so, whats the moral of this story, and how does it relate to this thread? i dont know @Liam, i dont know

Number 1 legit German camera tech sit slashcam tested the EVA1 throughout. They call it the possibly best sub 10000 camera available and a hit to come. For the people wondering about 8 and 10 bit difference of c200 and EVA1 codec, here is a comparison of a shot they pushed 5 stops in post:

The original RED one was only rated at 9 stops maximum by DPs once it was out in the field....to talk about the GH5 with ONLY 12 stops, means that if it  had 14 stops, that person would just have something else to complain about....oh wait....there is....the terrible AF??

I bought these semi-permanent mounts to from Leitax. Well worth the money, perfectly solid. No play like you'd get with an adapter because it's basically bolted on.

I have a tiny bit of play. It's never come unlocked though. That being said, Panasonic announced they improved the side handle and will ship replacements. I would join the EVA1 Facebook group if you haven't already. Mitch Gross (the Varicam and EVA1 rep) is posting details in there.

That's an exciting looking rig. Looking forward to seeing images from your Kowa BH set-up. I share your passion for color rendition and dynamic range, and I suspect the EVA1 will perform well with these.
Also nice to see that Wooden Camera in Dallas has created a PL mount for the EVA1, albeit one requiring shims and may void the camera's warranty. That's welcomed news nonetheless as I have a happy marriage with my PL glass.
Bottomline... Panasonic... needs to provide access to 2x anamorphic shooting via menus, like the Varicams and GH5 do. Then their line will be unbroken.
Meanwhile, looking forward to seeing those images.

I just rigged my EVA1 up with my Kowa BH (in a Rectilux housing) using my Leica Summicron 35, 50 and 90mm set as taking lenses, and it is awesome. Was also happy to note that i can get away with a 35mm taking lens without vignetting given the fact that I'm doing a 2.39:1 center extraction.
Received mine 10 days ago. I honestly thought I'd be posting a bunch of footage with it, but the truth is, I'm having so much fun with it that I haven't had any spare time for uploading to vimeo. Hopefully soon, during the holidays. But broad strokes for me is this is a fantastic cinema camera. the two most important factors for me are color rendition and dynamic range and this excels at both. here are some quick pics from the day I received it, all rigged up and stripped down to almost nothing.

As color rendition is a top priority for me, I was happy to read Matt's assessment: "In my personal view (feel free to disagree with me in the comments!) the EVA1 has the most accurate colour rendition of any of the sub $10K cameras that are out there. The colours are very reminiscent of the Varicam LT and you would struggle to tell the two apart."
Camera's not without its flaws but I expect I'll be pretty happy with it. Here's a short doc Matt shot with it.
