It would appear Detective Ed has appointed himself judge and jury. Therefore his abuse of Bloom is justified. And make no mistake Ed, what you are doing is incredibly abusive, destructive, and hurtful to Bloom. How would you feel if you were accused of child molestation and almost overnight had your reputation destroyed by people who said they were just standing up for the victims of child sexual abuse? Look up the McMartin preschool trial. Not every accusation turns out to be legit Ed. And you know very little about what happened between Bloom and these ladies. The bottom line is none of us know what really happened. But you've convinced yourself Bloom is guilty and deserving of your abuse. Shameful. What you are doing, your behavior, is completely shameful. I ask you to please reconsider behavior and stop it. You are doing great harm with your witch hunt to what could very well be a completely innocent person.

Ed, what I think about this issue at this point is irrelevant, your reaction to it has significantly decreased my respect for you.
Starting a new thread just because you didn't enjoy the reactions to your stance on the previous one is juvenile.

What is the goal of this topic? What does it want to discuss? Usually we read for benefit and enjoyment... is this either?
It seems Ed's posts are sort of pioneering an internet bombshell. What if Ed becomes the face of the Philip Bloom abuse scandal, the man who woke up camera nerds to domestic abuse? Ed could get internet camera nerd famous on the grounds of Philip Blooms personal life. Bit weird. Sounds like a film.
I personally don't mind you Ed, but you have lots of talent and I feel you are wasting decent time when you could actually be wowing the world of camera nerds with a blockbuster NX1 short film. No one is making decent films with this camera - you could be the guy who proves you can make amazing art with a Samsung product. Do a film about domestic abuse, change the world. Anything like this is far better than using up your valuable time in writing about a famous camera nerds relationship issues in what seems to be ultimately ineffective apart from snapping the temper strings of other fellow camera nerds.
Camera nerds are very easy to annoy. Do something more challenging. Make this art you've got on your chest and give the domestically abused a hand of support
    Time better spent.

Thank you for the review Andrew, great camera and nice footage. You should work more on grading techniques. I find this terrible. Looking how great painters made color balance in their master works is one of the best way to start learning IMHO.

We live in a time where a reputation can be destroyed by one accusation and I would be very hesitant to publically shame the man until we have more information.
If I'm wrong and it's true, I will no longer have respect for Philip and hope he and the victims get help. I hope it's false.

Holy shit this is the most deliver I've ever seen come in a camera package. And for that price point. Oh my god. It's like it was born out of what people want out of a video camera.

Yeah I don't think I would shoot anything at 6K uncompressed, storage would be insane. But I think the Golden 3K Cineform would strike the perfect balance in terms of detail, edit ability, and space/quality ratio.

I'd guess a C300 using a slightly lower than normal shutter speed.
Edit: Looking at it full screen, yeah it's a 5D Mark 3, not that sharp+canon colors+no moire.

I agree that anybody who has strong allegations or is in fact guilty should not be associated with your business. I do think it is more professional however not to make public statements until the person is found guilty.
If Philip Bloom is in fact guilty then he must live with that guilt and find help, as anyone who ever thinks about or performs domestic abuse certainly needs therapy and/or medical attention.
Additionally, shouldn't the general public just keep their noses out of other peoples business? A lot of people probably have "dark" things they don't want other people to know - there is a law system that takes care of such things, yet the internet will still attempt to be the judge and jury.

I don't know Eric. To me Kessler is a company that sells stuff, just like Canon is... In fact, Philip Bloom also is mostly a 'brand' to me. I value his articles and still do with this knowledge. I don't know him as a person and I have no interest in doing so.
My point, things are getting way to personal and I don't think that is a good thing.

I don't have a problem with Kessler ending their relationship with Bloom. Makes sense of course from a business perspective. Not sure if a press release is needed for that though.
I can understand they want to publicly declare they take distance from him as a person. Could have been done all the same without mentioning the specifics. I think that would be a lot more respectful, and mostly more professional.

I don't care about Philip Blooms private issues. I think the press release is unprofessional. Why does it have to go into the specifics like that?

I've been using the camera for a bit and as a B-roll on a C100 shoot. Seems like there is about a stop less on the NX1. Perfectly usable.
Name of the game really is protect the highlights on the camera, but thankfully it does have very clean highlight rolloff even if you do blow them out.
    Great thread on DVXuser:

I don't use wondershare, I use Rocky Mountain or Photon. Hopefully we will see what the camera is truly capable of when an editor like Premiere supports it natively.

Pardon me, but if you look at the details of that test it was complete GARBAGE. The reviewer used the stock settings on each camera to get his result, no tweaks to contrast or black level. Also he used a different lens on each camera.
I agree with Jimmy, if your shooting in this scenario just light him properly and the issue goes away. What is more important in this shot to take note of is the skin tone, which is miles better in the NX1.
