Honestly they match perfectly and I can only suppose something, but just because you asked. Otherwise I would not notice that you used 2 cameras

I shot this music video with the FS7 and GH4. Other than the super slow mo, can you tell which is which?

Ok I just tried the 14-140mm f4.0-f5.6 panny lens out. The 14mm side translates to a 40mm view from FF, so it's slightly wider that the "normal" 50mm on a FF. It's pretty wide I'd say but you could probably go wider with a wide lens + speed booster and something else if you wanted to.
Due to the lens being slower, I found that it's hard to get any background blur but that was probably obvious. Shooting in dark doesn't seem to be a major issue at the native 800 ISO, as long as the scene is normally lit. The Mega OIS is amazing though, even zoomed in all the way it eliminated a lot of jitter.
I think I'm going to keep this lens around, it's very versatile and could help get some difficult shots.

I still love it. The best small camera by a mile.

First off, Blackmagic did themselves a great disservice by calling it the "pocket" camera. That name led everyone to believe it was a "point and shoot". While technically it is, if you are shooting professionally, it isn't. And really, a pro wouldn't expect it to be anything more than what it is. It's a small compact platform that produces pro quality (all be it cropped sensor) images. But as with any pro camera, there are support accessories required. ALL pro cameras require external batteries. 45 minutes on a battery is pretty standard stuff. All pro cameras require external monitors for viewing and focusing. So does the BMPCC.  The images this little camera produces are amazing. i've used it extensively to shoot background plates to put behind arri raw foreground elements. beautiful results. If you want to be happy with this camera, buy a good external battery or two, an atomos ninja for recording and viewing and for 3K or less, You've got an amazing B cam than can be a saving grace on any set. If you're looking for a point and shoot.......stick with the GH4

Probably Canon ignores that internet exists and some people use it, finding informations about prices, specs etc...

A friend of a friend that has a friend that work for them sent me this super secret picture of a new model that will be on the market in June: they developed a new camera that uses REAL reel, in order to achieve a real "raw" feel.
The first model will have fixed lens (20x OPTICAL!!! wow!!!), EVF, some buttons and... no, it will be not cheap, but enthusiast have to spend if they are serious about video making!
(I hope it will be possible install ML on it!)

If you've got the choice. Of course. Surely for people who shoot skater videos or dogs shaking their ears. Twixtor is a crook. But if you know your foe, you can plan any dramatically justified slomo with it. The amount of time processing? How many slomo shots can a film have without feeling slow? And again, you can't just shoot everything with 60p for the odd slomo and then believe the stuff will look good @ 24p without considerable render time.
On 1080 devices, you can't see superior resolution (of original 4k), you can only see inferior (of 'not true' HD) resolution. There is an experience among us former cinema projectionists: one can distinguish 4k when sitting in row six or closer to the screen. Not because beyond this threshold the film looks much better, but on the contrary, you can still endure it in this size, whereas the 2k version is blown up too much. That's all there is to it. I had two 4k sources on my 1080 monitor, and though they apparently were good HD, they were no revelation. How could they be? It's all about size, and nothing else.

Pocket footage looks better than GH4K footage on vimeo... Good 1080 is much better than low quality 4k.

Certainly you mean for slomos. Because for someone who is after a clean, 'Hobbit'-like look, the Pocket is clearly the wrong choice. As a workaround for missing 60p, you can use 30p with short exposure times and process the footage with Twixtor. Being a cinema lover since my early childhood, I also love the dirty slomo ('trailer slomo') of repeated frames. Use it very often in my wedding videos. I almost always manipulate real time, but I'm not much bothered by technical imperfections of these obvious effects. Nothing is more boring than a perfect slomo.
Then, just imagine, you bought the BMMCC with a BMD VA to get 60p, and BM gives us 60p for the Pocket in a FW upgrade, and be it only for ProRes LT. Not completely impossible, we've seen them answering so many wishes of customers in the past.
Okay, but some use the SB always or almost always. And raw theoretically is the better codec, allows much more in post. The filter is still an option for me. On the other hand, I try to save money for the Ursa mini, probably as a christmas surprise, having gotten used to the BM promises ...

Did the article say it was better than the Alexa? Nope. Merely more vertical resolution.
I'd say that's quite an achievement for a $1500 camera though and definitely headline worthy.

We are talking about a sub-1500 € camera that does what just some years ago would do a 25.000$ camera.
If you find it just "ok" what do you think about the (also amazing for their price) Canon EOS?
Everything is subjective, especially if we talk about art, cameras, guitars, microphones, preamps, tubes-vs-solid-state etc... but "ok" for me is the mighty EOS 550 or the iPhone. The GH4 is (in my opinion) something more then ok, at least for what you can do with (slow motion, 4K etc...)

The more the time pass, the more I do love technical limitations, because they force me to be more creative!

The video you posted is incredible, but of course someone will find it not "cinematic" because was shot on GH4

I love "IDA" the great B&W movie that was out some months ago: it was filmed in 4/3 with an Alexa I think, lots of grain, no movements... and it's more then cinematic! It's an AWESOME movie! One of the best I saw in the last months!
We have all the technical possibilities to shoot with quality: we "just" need to be creative. And you can't wait better camera for that

Yes, in this two days I tested the Pocket I started to questioning my normal workflow and I started to look at this little camera like a "teacher": I have to plan more before shooting and to be more pragmatic in the exact moment I have to shoot. That's good, because limitations always push me to better results and to be more creative.

Of course the Pocket is something I have to get used to, but I'll start using for some personal projects, then I'll try to use it for the works I normally use GH4.

Thank you very much Alex (and all you guys!)

Sorry for the late reply! It's coming in tomorrow I think. When I get it I can tell you the answer. I think 14mm x 2.88 crop factor will be around 40mm which is wide but not ultra wide.

But unlike the (beautiful) Alexa, it costs less then 1500 €.... and you can take it everywhere: with a couple of cheap batteries you can shoot for hours and hours.
If you use it in a proper way you can achieve a very cinematic look... take a look here: http://www.eoshd.com/eoshd-panasonic-gh4-shooters-guide/
