If you at all cared about audio in your videos you would eventually discover that wireless audio is not uncommon at all. Google "lav mics".

I'm on the same path and I have EF lenses already and shoot a lot of pictures so it's kind of a no-brainer for me as soon as the price is right. Just need those fan-boys to start selling off their mk3s for mk4 upgrades  .

BMPCC with better screen and battery does not equal BMCC in my opinion. Huge scope for a BMPCC V2 and it would sell like hotcakes guaranteed. Even with such annoying problems BMPCC sold super well, that says it all.

Smaller than a bmcc an I guess as big as the pocket would be with equal screen, battery and audio.
No need for speedbooster, its already full frame. It can adapt alot of lenses from cheap m42 to C/Y.
Price is depending. A used 5Dmkiii costs less than a BM Micro body only. A used with warranty costs less than a Micro + monitor.
The only drawbacks to the 5D imo is convertion times. Its not bad, but an extra step.
I will probably buy one as well. Have a bmpcc that does everything I need but when the price reaches sub $1k I will pull the trigger. Only $150 to go...

A Pocket/BMCC hybrid with Global Shutter (or just improved RS like the Micro), would be the way to go.
It'll be bigger than the Pocket, but smaller than the BMCC & have better battery life, screen & a cooling system to get 60p - it won't be 4k, but 2.5k in RAW & 1080p ProRes. This would be perfect.....

Yep, I'm pretty sure you can use the 60p feature like 5D3 (I haven't done it myself). Yes it has 1:1 crop mode and I'm pretty sure it's centred, the preview in LCD has accurate framing anyway.

You can check resolutions here - http://rbrune.github.io/mlraw/ (but it's just under 1080p for continuous record, unless you shoot a 4:3 or 5:4 aspect).

I once bought a cheap, used Canon EF 24-105 f4 L lens with a scratched front element (2 scratches, ca. 5-10mm long and 1mm wide). Didn't even show at landscape pics with f/8.

The 5Dmkiii is dropping fast now. So a 7D is more like a 1/3. But I agree, budget and needs is what decides. If one needs full frame then the 7D is out anyway. And of course the opposite if s35 is once preference.
A few questions, does the 7D record raw slowmo? At what resolution can you get continuous? Does it have a 1:1 Crop mode and if so, is it centered?

I love American reviewers. They're the Funniest. Brits are just ancient colonial racists. Almost to the point of being boring. Americans, on the other hand, democratically crib so uniformly. I love their reviews. This review was so clumsy, disorganised and cribby, it was hilarious. Never mind that the product got completely ignored.

An APS-C sized pocket would be amazing. Smallish form factor with tiltable screen, better battery and speed-boostable to FF... just imagine  .

Gopro suckled at margins with only small incremental changes as long as they could, someone like Xiaomi now has the power to crush them. The only thing that could potentially save Gopro is their name/marketing hype... are they Apple? That is the 1,000,000 dollar question (my instincts tell me they are not).

Absolutely. Along with an Attached LCD Screen, along excellent touch functionality and menu. And arguably better sound (they are apparently also working on different mics for the Yi 4k).

Simple economics says GoPro is done if they don't make some kind of change. Why would people buy a GoPro when they could buy the Yi 4k for about half? If word gets around well enough (and with smaller products like this it usually does) GoPro will be having a very hard time this sector. DJI should also be worried I think.

Picking up ProTune was the best thing GoPro did. But that is more in the realm of professional work, and most of those features are wasted on people who don't want too much work in post (except movie makers). Also, when they picked up ProTune, people (arguably) weren't using them too much foe grading.
They should have had better low light and battery life along with other things. And STABILIZATION.
Also, GoPro prices have been the biggest cause of its Financial Downfall.
I don't want to give you the figures, you can check any source that seems reasonable. GoPro is seriously down.

I think it would be a genius move for Canon to include raw video in the M5. If they're truly having technical difficulties implementing 4K into their smaller cameras due to heat dissipation, the inclusion of 1080p Raw would put them in a different category and nobody would care if it had 4K. But they would never do it because they don't think outside the box, they are run by bean counters (as all the major camera manufacturers are)
But with their "history with ML" you'd think it would be pretty simple for them to implement such a feature.

Thanks for cluing me in on the M-mount. I still don't like the look of the cam. Not at all. Make a mirrorless look like a mirrorless with it's logical convenience, like the XC10.
I'd spring for the M5 if it had 4k. But right now I'm trying to future proof my cams to a certain degree as well as have everything work as a system. Alas, that's how Canon rolls in 2016---no obligator 4k. WTF! Most of what I do are educational videos for my business--where I so a lot of teaching--so, talking head stuff. The XC10 gives such great images and 4k I can downsample to my business educational site, and it's so easy to get great results with it the addition of XLR for improved audio alone is enough for me to upgrade now.  As the saying goes, professional video is all about professional audio--ain't it the truth.
Plus, the attachment for the XLR audio can also be used for the C300 Mk II. Yes, the 300 Mk II already has XLR, but it's part of an LCD and adds a lot of weight in hand held shooting. This XLR unit that's interchangeable on the XC15 and C300 Mk II is lighter and will make outdoor hand held shooting easier, since out of doors I never use the LCD.
The other thing is the XC15 will have all those cinema profiles to match the C300 Mk II...AND a waveform...!! YeSSSSSS!!! I love using waveform to help me with Log exposure---it's indispensable IMO. But I must confess I seldom take the C300 out---it's 95% a studio cam--worth every penny, IMO.
    PS:
You might be waiting till Hell freezes over until Canon comes out with an XC model with a constant 2.8---I'm just saying. Canon giveth, Canon taketh away, and Canon depriveth. Arrrrrrgh!

I used to use the 17-55 on the eos m with canon EF adapter (also Vlitrox). It's just a pass-through, there's no reason why any lens shouldn't work.

    Yes.
Everything works as normal, fit is tight, obviously AF is slower than a mirrored body.
I'm going to build a custom EF-M speed booster soon with a Lens Turbo ii and the EF adapter combined. Will post it up here when I'm done, I just got another original M for 100bucks new after my first finally died, such a good priced camera.
