  1. If not used for anything narrative (the strong noise reduction and even worse sharpening), it might be quite ok...
  2. No big issue here. If it happens, it's the apps' developer's fault. Davinci Resolve, Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Chrome, Firefox, Word, Excel etc. scale perfectly fine in 125% on my 27" UHD screen.
  3. right now the E2 is closer to a phone, at least in terms of internal processing...
  4. Yep, both MPC BE and HC work great with GH5 footage.
  5. got zero as well. Trained eyes I think...
  6. True, having a 10 bit or even 10 bit FRC screen helps a lot with that as well.
  7. You mean by putting s***loads of sharpening onto the footage? Btw. Phillip Bloom uploaded lots of Kinefinity Mavo footage. https://www.facebook.com/pg/philipbloom/photos/?tab=album&album_id=10155309555785426 That's how demo footage should look like. Fantastic color science, fantastic detail, no sharpening nor noise reduction, amazing DR. Am in love. ?
  8. Or Cinema DNG 1:4 which is opensource as well. Would bypass the horrible (probably the worst I've seen in years) processing as well.
  9. For this kind of look I rather continue using my phone... ?
  10. Exactly. And that's why I think Apple restricting ProRes RAW support to only FCPX makes no sense at all - which is a bit off topic though.
  11. Yep, turned that on months ago.
  12. I usually use Blur (0.53) as a node and change the gain to like 0.3. Will try your solution as well. On a sidenode. Just tried out the Sony A7 III earlier. At -7 there is absolutely no sharpening. Wondering why Panasonic forces it on us?
  13. Noticed this as well. To V-Log L to Log C conversion is pure magic though. Very contrasty as well, in some images shadows are getting crushed.
  14. Great work man! Can't wait to try out the Cine D conversion. Was avoiding 60p for many reasons until now (1080p60 10 bit is oversharpened, UHD60p 8 bit in V-Log is almost as messy as GH4 8 Bit V-log was...)
  15. If Arri looks "digital" then I'm fine with it. But it doesn't. It's just that 16mm looks garbage in most cases when compared to 35mm or even bigger film stock. An ARRI (RED, Varicam, Blackmagic Cameras, RAW from C200/C300/C700/FS5/FS7/FS700 etc.) wouldn't have shown any digital looking processing, since they simply don't have any after debayering. Here's a good comparison between the EVA-1 and some consumer Panasonic cameras like the GH5. You can easily see how much more organic the EVA-1 looks in comparison.
  16. True, unless you measure the effects of NR only using a black and white chart. ?‍♂️
  17. Thanks for all the love so far. Really appreciate it. And sorry for the late replies. Pre-Production took a few weeks. Uche Aguh wrote it basically while casting and searching for locations to shoot and adjusting the script to it at the same time! I worked on a shotlist, schedule and lighting/equipment. Production took place nearby Atlanta in a small town called Palmetto. A very eary place tbh. We shot over a time-frame of 11 days. We had a crew of 6 people. Right now we are working on post-production. Some bts pictures can be found here: http://55media.net/portfolio/the-house-invictus/ pushed it up to 6400 in some situations. I already added some grain. Sadly the internal NR on the GH5 is very strong and smudges lots of low contrast detail and YouTube does the rest... (Waiting for the Pocket 4K) Here is a link to a higher quality version on vimeo:
  18. Try ARRI and it will blow you away then. :D But indeed. Blackmagic color science is great. Put a curve after the REC709 over it and you're good.
  19. True. In terms of video quality this thing is at least C200 RAW territory, but 6 times cheaper! The EVA-1 should be slightly better in RAW (DR and resolution)
  20. Thanks for the upload. Video quality (when properly exposed) seems to be impressive. No signs of sharpening nor NR. Great color, dynamic range and detail. Can't wait to get my hands on this camera (once it records more than 12fps) :D
  21. Redownloading because Mega was complaining about HTML5 storage being full (at 94%) Use MegaDownloader
  22. I was wondering about the strong sharpening lol
  23. Hey, finally done with the trailer to our debut feature film at 55Media shot almost entirely on the Panasonic GH5 (some shots on the GoPro6 and P4P) in just 12 days. Our best work yet. Movie is still going through post-production. Production company: 55Media Director/Writer: Uche Aguh Director of Photography: Dennis Schmitz (me) Assistant Director: Ukairo U. Ukairo. Starring: Jarius Drew Sowells, Kayode Akinyemi, Vincent Ramirez, Thiree Pinnock, Julian Horton, Obum Nwankwo and J Shawn Durham as 'Daddy G' Editing done in Premiere. Colorgrading done in Davinci Resolve. Dealing with the usual quirks of this camera, but results are still great. More information: www.imdb.com/title/tt7928156 www.55media.net
  24. Well, with working ProRes RAW on the GH5/s I wouldn't even consider a Pocket4K...
