  1. Where can I find it? Not on the facebook page I think
  2. Interesting! What colorspace will be used then? Might be the fix for clipped reds...
  3. That messed up test was done by the EBU. Almost nothing they did over there made any sense.
  4. Especially standard sharpening settings ugh... But on my GH5 I can't get rid of that oversharpened look even by using a strong diffusion filter and setting sharpening to -5... lol The X-T3 is better in that regard. -4 looks already quite ok. But nothing comes close to a RED, ARRI or BM camera.
  5. That cage looks great. Thinking about getting the whole setup with a gimbal, side battery grip, follow focus, T5-mount etc... Waiting for BRAW as well and hope they can fix the red clipping issue as well. Moire and aliasing isn't a problem at all when using some diffusion.
  6. Pretty impressive, since the other cameras do denoise the footage.
  7. Didn't expect that.. Yes, the shadows on the Pocket 4K are way cleaner (almost no FPN either) but it seems to clip earlier as well. So basically if you're doing ETTR you can't go wrong and make use of some great DR actually, just brighten up the shadows in post.
  8. The Pocket 2K was exposed to the right, not underexposed at all. The Pocket 4K was slightly overexposed, some slight clipping. The Pocket 4K is way cleaner in the shadows but I guess once properly exposed the dynamic range between these two is pretty much the same but you'll get a cleaner image with way less moire and aliasing on the new Pocket.
  9. I think they match like amazingly well just using different types of curves. Pushed ISO on both by one stop to open shadows. Took me 5 minutes. The Pocket 4K has better DR shadows and way more detail The Pocket HD has better DR in highlights and a slight green tint, but everything is in focus.
  10. Thanks. From my tests the Pocket 4K is very much comparable to the A73 in terms of DR. So at least 2 stops better than the GH5(s) Yep, noticed as well...
  11. I think ARRI, Red, Varicam, Sony F-line, Blackmagic etc... disagree. Btw, in big productions blur in post is applied to combat the digital look even newer Red cameras have although Red cameras don't apply any sharpening at all - sensors nowadays are just too clean and realistic.
  12. Makes me really wonder why Blackmagic still refuses to add an OLPF to any of their cameras. Would really help a lot. They should work together with Rawlite who do an impeccable job with ther Ursa Mini Pro and 4.6 filters. wait what?? That's crazy lol. That's basically like jumping from over 13 stops of DR with priority in highlights to below 12 stops with shadow priority. Makes no sense at all.
  13. Maybe a bigger Pocket 4K with same sensor but OLPF, IBIS and DPAF as well as some integrated ND and bigger batteries and a 5" flip LCD. Would pay even more than twice the price lol.
  14. It's me. And yes, would love to see that, A73 in HLG is missing as well. The chart seems quite accurate to me, the FS7 is definitely quite impressive in terms of dynamic range, I just don't like what the processing does to its image. RAW is amazing though. Wow, looks great. Seems like Pocket 4K footage shows way more low contrast texture than the X-T3 does which looks flat in many cases.
  15. Well, like @DBounce already mentioned, it's oversharpening. So everything should be fine - once set to minimum sharpening. And no, oversharpened crispened hair doesn't exist in real life. Maybe in phones and inferior cameras.
  16. Not if shot with Arri, Red or Blackmagic cameras. Seen it a lot on the GH5(s) and Sony Alphas though. Just hoping that the previous sample was shot with sharpening at 0 or with additional sharpening in post. Still want the X-T3 to be better than the Pocket 4K since it is way more functional and has way less crop in 120p while still capturing in 10 bit.
  17. Nice colors, texture and nice soft contrast also. But looks sharpened hmm. Was sharpening at 0? Well I hope it was, if it was -4 I would rather get a Pocket4K which doesn't show this crispening effect (hair especially).
  18. Not true. You can't add moire and aliasing in post. ?
  19. I was kinda shocked after shooting with the RED Gemini last week at how clean and realistic the image looks using IPP2. Without some crazy post production it won't look cinematic at all - even though it has some amazing dynamic range. It's just way too clean. Older RED cameras didn't suffer from this "problem". Same happens with the Pocket 4K. You'll get better dynamic range, no more noise, very natural color - an overall way more realistic looking image which is almost flawless. Which is a problem - at least in film. You don't wan't a realistic looking image.
  20. It's 13 stops rated on both. But the FPN and regular noise on the original pocket as well as color shifts are way too distracting to call it usable 13 stops at least. https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/blackmagicpocketcinemacamera/techspecs/W-CIN-12
  21. The new pocket 4k blows the old one away in terms of dynamic range and color reproduction. Many shots online are just overexposed or lack proper grading. Btw, your shot looks great. Idc about the slight highlight clipping on the left - since it should be compressed anyway. Here's a take at your shot. Without any luts. Just a BM Pocket 4K color science to Rec709 CST at the very end after the grading. I wonder how many here would call the RED Gemini with its basically perfect yet completely realistic reproduction a videoish looking camera. Sensors are getting better. Both RED and BM deliver images without any visible processing with amazing color reproduction and stunning detail with a complete lack of noise - because why not.
  22. Define better. Weird color, yellow-brown casts, worse dynamic range, way more aliasing and moire problems, lots of noise, fixed noise pattern etc. Well, some call it character, others call it flaws.
  23. JSFILMZ on YouTube has uploaded some nice sample footage as either RAW or ProRes, as well as some comparisons to the GH5s which might be interesting. The footage looks amazing after grading. Used a BM Pocket 4K film to Rec709 conversion via CST in Resolve at the very end. Download of the graded video: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1SAkBhaRRXnWpKY6_b-lKRns9g13ICEMZ
  24. Seems like we have another good APS-C video camera. The Z6 may be the final answer to the A73 though. Smooth full frame 4K 10bit video (externally) with IBIS and AF.
