That design looks like it belongs on a cool robot!

Reading thru the various forums and comments online and the vid on youtibe, 90% of those comments are either unimpressed or negative.
Admittedly the C300 was not that well received and it found a solid market, but that was a different market and that was then, this is now and its competitors NX1, GH4 A7s offer a lot more for less, and tjhat seems to be the main response to this Camera...time will tell tho I guess, but personally I would not even consider one.
I'll stick with my GH4.

ANDREW, I believed you partnered with Dpreview for video ? What is wrong with them ? Can you please tell them how this camera is shit and not what we want ? 

It must be a joke, this camera is sooooo 2010. 
We want a miroless camera from canon that compete A7S. 
Native EF Mount, 4K 60fps, 1080p at 120fps, IBIS, 16mpx, Full Frame, in the size of A7S with canon 5DIII body quality, and Nikon/Sony like Dynamic Range. 
That is what we want, not a 1" f5.6 fixed lens 2500USD stuff.... seriously. 
I am mad.

Seems like a bit of a mixed bag with the lens and the price.  With the addition of log recording on the GH4 (fingers crossed)........... well, Ill keep my GH4.

I'm about as hard to offend as possible, I'm not offended by Clarkson. I don't even dislike the guy (other than being a chelsea fan)... I laughed out loud when he said he was "off to the job centre" yesterday.
I just don't believe that huge stars should be given different rights to anyone else. If the producer had punched Clarkson, do you think he would be working today?
This diatribe is hiding an ugly point behind an indie/creativity mask.... That big stars should be able to do whatever they want, without consequence... Because they bring in money and entertain. It's the opposite of the indie mindset.

I agree. I read a quote that the BBC need to learn how to handle larger than life characters. Nonsense. Punching someone is not larger than life.  You can't send out a message that "it's ok...it's clarkson being Clarkson!" 
 

These times of over sensitive, full of politically correct hypocrites are utterly annoying. You over protect kids so much that when they are by themselves in the jungle they are unable to deal with any issue, as minor as it can be, everything becomes a life and death drama. I hate the feeling of not be able to make a joke because I have to be aware of whatever, that's why I only surround myself with people that can easily understand the difference between a joke and my serious opinion about something, that seems trivial but nowadays, it's really hard to find people like that, at least the ones I find usually become close friends of mine.
One a side note, I don't really think that the US are really the place for Top Gear.

​It's odd - I was sure I saw a review for this camera up there months ago... I'm sure I read it before I bought mine (bought early November) and it didn't seem to be a brand new review then. I specifically remember comparing noise levels in images between the A7s and GH4...
I also remember the dynamic range graphs with DRO and Slog. It seems like this is simply an updated review, with the addition of a 'filmmaker's perspective'
DP Review do take a little while to get their reviews out, though they're pretty thorough and they generally only take a couple of months (from the few I've seen). The A7s didn't start shipping til mid year (July IIRC?), so really even if the review was new when I read it, it took them 3ish months - long, perhaps, but nowhere near 11 months.

What are you hearing? What a tease. Is what you're hearing more exciting then a v-log picture profile?  

For sync use a real clapper board or an app. Use your cellphone for audio- quality is good enough if on a budget. Shooting at 60p provides audio when not in VFR mode- that isn't slow enough?
In your NLE, sync the audio spike for the clapper sound to the visual of the clapper closing (or screen flash if using an app).

Listening is one thing, listening to the right people is even more important.
That's why it's great enthusiast / power-user suggestions seem to be going into the firmware. These are the right people to ask.

​I think maybe you need a more active imagination.  This capability has existed for years now.

Excellent advice. Also some well-known movies have used basic cameras. Much of Blair Witch Project ($248 million gross) was shot on a $500 consumer-grade RCA Hi-8 Camcorder.

Panasonic G6 used (300 dollars) some glass and Zoom H5 (zoom H4 is not that good with proper XLR mics) + a decent mic.  The upcoming OMD-5MII seems promising.. the actual video quality remains to be analyzed. 

​No improvement in DR after 7 years in unforgivable...for a stills camera. 

Canon will announce 56,312 cameras at NAB. 
3 of them will shoot 4k. 
2 will have higher frame rates. 
1 of them will be affordable. 
On the other stand, Blackmagic will steal all the thunder again. They release the "URSA Pocket" that can actually transform into a full-size URSA if you stick it at the front of one with a HDMi connection. It also has mini wheels as a pointless gimmick.
