  1. Hello Ken, could you please show some results/ tests? Thank you. Francisco
  2. have you tried it Ruth? What's your toughts?
  3. Yeah, I'm going to wait a little bit before actually buying it but I'm curious...would like to see it with the pocket to see if it's noticeable with the resolution
  4. very interested in seeing if this works... its a pitty that only works best between f4 and f16 as they say on their page. im waiting on the bm pocket ( if it will ever come ) and have a gh2 so it could be a good optin as a first try in anamorphic adapters. I really enjoyed their flare test.
  5. If you drag your footage to the "new" option, premiere creates a sequence according to your footage. that usually is the best way. If not, try the arri alexa presets and choose with the correct frame rate
  6. I really don't understand why there is a lot of people still moaning about canon not releasing new cameras. There are so many other brands that did just that and are great, why do people always use canon cameras as a comparison. Or why are people always asking " Oh why canon, why? Why aren't you listening to me?". Get over it.
  7. Hello Oferlevy, The Sony A7S doesn't shoot raw with the shogun, it shoots prores 8 bit 4:2:2.

    BMCC or Sony FS700

First of all, you don't need to render your sequences from premiere to resolve, just export an xml or an edl to resolve. No need to render to a specific codec. Look into it and you'll see it's way better than to render to an uncompressed quicktime or something like that. Do some testes before because resolve likes to give some headaches if you don't have the appropriate hardware. In terms of the camera, you already know the pros and cons of each one. blackmagic has a better image but that doesn't mean that the image from the fs700 is bad. If you use the fs700, you will need to render your sequence from premiere because of the non avchd support in resolve. If you use the blackmagic, no need to transcode. If there's no effects, you might be able to edit in resolve 11. If slow motion is that important, than use the fs700. You might get some good results with the blackmagic and twixtor but you really need to understang the plug in and how to avoid problems. Altough i prefer the image from blackmagic, with your conditions for this project, i would use the fs700 because of the slow motion, nice image, sd cards and battery life. You will probably have to rent an adapter for the ef lenses. But if your work goes well, you might be able to film everything you need to in the correct timing and will be able to not spend all that much...
  9. Really nice flare fest. In the good way. Reminded me a bit of the constant flare of the new star trek movies hehe. I really like my ff58 but i broke the glass and now it flares even more, now in the wrong way... Have to buy a new one and this time i thing i'm goind the oval way. thank you for you video.
  10. Hello, Sorry about this question not being very clear but i got to ask. Does anyone know what this lens might be - 16mm optical anamorphic lens. I got a store in my town who is selling this lens and i going there this week but just trying to know any information before i go there. There doesn't seem to be any information about this lens online, probably because the name is incorrect or something like that. Thank you.
  11. Ok, thank you Sean for the tip. The letus is a little expensive for me. I do like that it has several coating options, so you know what to expect in terms of flaring. I'm really liking the bolex 1.5x footage that i've been seeing. Will try to look for one in a few months when i can afford it.
  12. Thank you Sean for sharing the video and information about the lens. As i'm still thinking of buying my first anamorphic adapter, even though i like the sharpness of the anamorphot, i really don't like that it flares so much. And i specially don't like the look of the flares. Which is unfortunate, as I was thinking of buying as it is a good and affordable option for me. Guess I'm gonna keep looking...
  13. Thank you so much for your reply. Yeah, it was formatted for mac but i got a hold on one before delivering the camera and successfully transfered the files. Thank you for the macdrive info. Francisco
  14. Hello, Sorry if this is a repeated problem but i'm on a deadline and getting concerned about this. I'm a film student and i'm using the cinema (from my university) for some projects. I'm on a windows 7 pc and i can't seem to transfer the files from the camera do my computer. When i connect the ssd or the camera to the pc, i can hear the usb getting plugged in but then nothing shows up. Do you know if this could be that the ssd is formatted for mac's or if i need to install some driver in my computer? Again, i know this is a rookie mistake but it's just one of those things that never came up untill i needed to transfer the files. Thank you for your help. Francisco
  15. Really enjoyed the video, solid work! Congrats on the history, flow and cinematography.

    letus anamorphic

i would say it's because of it's price. A new anamorphic adaptor for roughly 1500/2000$ it's a little pricey.. And with so little test footage from it it's hard to make the jump and buy it
  17. That would be awesome and much cheaper! still curious how to hold in a proper way the ssd..
  18. Hi there, Where were you able to buy the anamorphot? Wasn't aware that it already came out as i'm searching for my first anamorphic buy and i'm interested in that lens.
