  1. We just shot a video with a 550d, a7s and an rx3...we all agre that 550d image looks best. I did the grading and I just love the 550d footage as long as I don`t have to push it and because it was most properly exposed it looks the best. I would buy a canon camera in a second if it was mirrorless and with a6000 specs....sadly there is none and I`ll have to go with sony.
  2. colors seem nice, but it looks like a lot of codec artifacts.
  3. you can use it for zoom or focus. it is smooth, very nice to operate, but no hard stops for focus, which takes a bit of getting used to...if you use a follow focus you can just use those. This is for mk3, I don`t know about the mk4. Dual ring lens would be far better in just about every way I think.
  4. I used the rx10 III for two shots...while the lens was great I really missed the second ring on it. electronic zoom is way to slow to be used for anything really creative. making the ring act as a zoom ring worked great, but then you have no on lens focus.
  5. looks great to me, too bad about the average lens.
  6. so, people figured out a way to hack the FW of this sub 100$ action camera to record 2k at 35Mbs. I wonder if its possible to turn of the sharpness, noise reduction etc...to get a 2k "protune" gopro for like 60€. A big thread here https://forum.dashcamtalk.com/threads/yi-hacked-resolution-2304x1296-30fps-35mbits.11589/
  7. Would you rather see the 6 digit stats of kids dying because their retarded parents buy them a 400hp car as a graduation gift? Belive me that every wingsuit flyer/skydiver/base jumper in the world knows that he will not die of old age.
  8. well, only one is a camera on which you can swap lenses...that is kind of a big deal.
  9. I don`t think that a 12 year old will do thing diferently if someone tells him that he has been practicing for 20 years...I know I didn`t. But the common sense on not throwing yourself off a brigde, well if kids don`t posses that their parents should. I have been doing extreme sports for the most of my life and yes, and yes I have broken bones, sprained just about everything but so did the pros, and so will the future kids...you can`t bubble wrap them. Buy them kneepads and helmets, and hope you raised them right On to the gopro...if the image quality would be up there with 3+ black/4 silver with protune, then sure, why not. I do downhill skateboarding and to be as fast as possible aerodynamics is the key. that is the reason I used contour in the past, but as far as the image quality for editing goes, theres no replacement for the gopro and protune. I had sony, the avchd killed everything for what I used it. I could kinda color corect the sony image, but the crap codec...no detail.
  10. Are pros supposed to hold back in order kids don`t repeat what they did? Even kids should have some common sense. there is plenty of teens with eating disorders because of the "pretty blondes". Bones heal way faster than disorders do.
  11. looks somewhat interesting...102.400 ISO?!?! http://resourcemagonline.com/2015/07/imagevision-has-made-a-ridiculously-small-4k-micro-four-thirds-camera-with-iso-up-to-102400/55156/
  12. 1&4 a7s, 2&3 a6000.... I would love to be wrong tho
  13. I'm sure it will be great, buy why do you always have to drag canon in this. Yes, they don't make a camera as good as this, maybe they never will. There have alway been better cameras than canon, yet somehow they survived...funny isn't it. I film different kind of events, news, tv series whatever 3 days a week every week. Wharever I film you we either have a crew photografer, if it's news gathering there is always tons of pro photographers and a hefty crowd of bystanders looking at whats going on. What there bystanders see as well is all the canon/nikon straps around the pro photographer cameras. I have never seen ony using a sony, maybe a pentax here and there and thats it. So, as long as it stays like that canon/nikon have nothing to wory about...and obviously they don't. If it's good enough for the pros it is good enough for anybody. I use a a7s alot and it's great and good fun to be able to overexpose in the dark, bu I can and I have filmed the same eventa even with a 550d and the clients never saw any diference. I will be filming a car review show in the fall and in the tryouts they wanted me to use a Canon dslr, so I dusted of my 550d, shot the show and got the gig. They want me to shoot the whole season with it...and I gladly will! If I drop it or it comes undone from the hood mount it will cost me less than what I make in a day to replace it...i love it!
  14. why not buy used? buy a used manfrotto head you like. I have used just about all of them and they all do the job and last forever. Be carefull buying the legs for it... my advice is buy carbon fibre legs that have 3 sections max. benro, sirui etc...
  15. based on your previous videos you seem like a very talented guy, but what is up with these grades? I honestly could not watch the clip, just scrubed it. Is this kind of look a thing? Othervise a great looking raw picture on the sony...alexa is great, but we already know that
  16. Thank you guys! I think I got something decent out of it, but I have a new problem that I don`t understand. As I said, I`ve used magic lantern since day one...in video mode I can`t set WB..AT ALL? when I press Q I just don`t have a WB to select nor anywhere in the main menu. I can set it in photo mode, but not video. What am I missing here?
  17. Hey, I could use some help. I`ve been using my 550D for years now and I`ve always used flat picture styles and did my onw edits/CC. I just got a job filming automotive tests and how they work is that they give me their SD cards(no magic lantern) and they need a picture that is ready to be cut, no CC needed. What would you guys advise me? neutral, just lowered contrast?

    Lenses

my opticaly favorite lens that I own is tokina rmc 70-200 f4. it`s just such a lovely image, low contrast a bit pastel colours...imagine a LOG lens. Next week I hopefully get a tokina 60-150 f2.8, and I will see if that becomes my new go to tele lens. I love the look they give, but I need to figure out how to lock it at a certain focal lenght, so I can use a follow focus with it. Anyway, it`s a nice lens with a "look", but I`m having hard time finding a wide angle partner for it. 28-70 could be it, but harder to find here. theres plenty of the 28-70 atx, but costs more.
