Joke apart I am the first one to wish for a great Canon mirrorless. I am loyal to no brand and just pick the best tool for the job when needed. The mix of outdated tech, old management and cine line protection will prevent that for a while unfortunately.

For sure the 6D video quality is beyond crap. I was talking about the stills quality which is also far from its competition although to a less extent compared to video. The XT3 looks beautiful. I wish it had IBIS. I am very hopeful Sony brings a A6700 soon as a copy of the XT3 but with even better AF (per A6400) and IBIS. Or an XH2 that would be great as well if not better.

Lol. I got great images from my first DSLR, the EOS 450D which is far inferior compared to the 6D. And what? It's not because one can get good images with ANY full frame camera on the market that one should choose the worst one because you know it can take good images. It's still crap. Canon makes crippled crap decade-old tech cameras that's it dude. There are just far better cameras than the 6D starting with the Nikon D750.

The latest 2019 iMac is very powerful, more than what most of "the masses" need. It bests the iMac Pro in many real world uses. The iMac Pro will soon get an update and fill that gap as well. I recently invested in an iMac and I am amazed. I have a $500 4K 27" screen and it is such garbage compared to the iMac screen. You would spend $1000 for a similarly good screen. The power is amazing, havent restarted the computer in weeks, haven't had a bug since day one months ago, everything is blazingly fast and the system a joy to use. Also having such a clean and simple design of an all in one on my desk leaves room and is nice. I would absolutely hate to have a normal desktop, including the new iMac Pro which to me looks awful by the way. For work, I have from my company the latest Huawei Matebook Pro x which is considered by all major test website to be the best portable windows laptop on the market. It's such a garbage, full of bugs, have to restart it every week before it slows down too much. A PITA. Everything from the slow wake up time to the bad trackpad to the system is a pain. People can continue to cry all day long about how Apple is expensive and I totally agree it is (sometimes justified, sometimes it's ridiculous). But it just works. By the way, the WWDC was the best in years. iPadOS is amazing. The new privacy features on iOS are incredible. Finally Apple is listening to customers. I laughed good times with the $999 screen holder for the new iMac Pro.

I laughed so hard. Especially the no rolling shutter part, deserves an award! That Canon is the worst piece of junk I have ever tried. If you have no choice but using that camera we definitely don’t live in the same world, and I am thankful for that!

That camera is a joke, basically a S1 with weird 6K for 2x the price. The S1 is cool but the AF is unacceptable for me. So there is only Sony now to give us a good FF video camera, let’s see

I agree most including me do not care about 6K. 4K is good enough today. I agree the AF is awful on the S1 as it is on the GH and I have said that for years now: we need good video AF on hybrids. Way more important for me than a flip screen: a good 4K60P 10 bits in FF. No FF hybrid does that as of today. Not even 4K60 FF 8 bits. I am hopeful the A7SIII will bring the above PLUS an insanely good AF (when seeing performance from A6400 consumer camera). Way more excited for that than the L mount system that has no lens, is way overpriced (based on S1 price and the rumored S1H price) and their shitty prehistoric ridiculous AF. Thing is, what is Sony waiting???

Looks like a GoPro copy, and the 7 has insane stabilization. I have it and it really works. Really happy with the footage I get. On my previous GoPros I was always disappointed with how the image looked on my computer VS gopro promotional videos. Not anymore. I think the IS accounts for 90% of that and the IQ is also better. Let’s see what DJI brings, raw maybe? But useless for me on an action cam. i don’t get why they wouldn’t put a 1” sensor. The P4 and Mavic Pro have very small cameras yet 1” sensors.

A lot of people here thought it would be 4K60 8 bit and that no 10 bit would be possible. Now Sony says 4k60 10bit is easy and below what they will release. Interesting.. probably either/combination of those: - global shutter - raw - massive ergonomics improvements - massive sensor improvements With the new AF update on A9 being best AF of the industry, this camera will be very exciting for sure.

When the A6400 was released and first AF videos showed its performance, I said it was definitely equal or better than DPAF. Some people here laughed. This direct comparison might make them think a little more. A7S3 will match or beat the A6400 for sure as there is no way on earth the future Flagship performs less than the old entry level. The latest Canon bodies are crap, and Sony is really trying to work on their issues/critics at each body release (V3 of A7 line saw massive body improvements, battery life and so on). On top they exceed competition in performance even where they were behind like AF.

My wish is a Canon XC body (or EOS R body) style with 4K60p, DPAF and FF sensor. But I can dream for this one. Second wish is A7SIII with real time tracking AF, 4K60p 10 bit FF and 24-36mpx sensor. Would be an absolute killer with the Tamron 28-75mm and the upcoming Tamron 17-28 2.8 (announced this week).

World famous Pro landscape photographers like C Burkard and Max Rive use Sony and Nikon and do not do luminosity mask AT ALL. Saying that "if you do pro landscape work you focus stack and bracket" is a proof that you know nothing about pro landscape photography. Most Pros don't have the time in post to do that kind of shit. Thanks. Overexposed? I shoot 95% of my pictures in aperture mode with exposure dial at -0.7 to benefit from shadow recovery that is always better than highlight recovery. Sorry this does not work with Canon as shadow recovery is not in their vocabulary. I do not think my pictures are over exposed. Totally agree about the D850 even though the A7RIII is almost as good. Agree with Fuji but their UWA offer sucks, and the price is a different league, not speaking about video. I have had FF Canons Nikons Sonys. The real life usable DR difference between Canon bodies and Sony/Nikon is INSANE for landscape work. Night and day. This camera is another epic joke from Canon that performs less than crop bodies in every single way but lowlight performance. When they decide to release a body that has similar specs from other cameras released this decade, I will be the first to buy one. I have 0 brand loyalty. Just shooting loud what we should not accept which is a lot in the today’s Photography market owned by a couple of old-fashion Japanese.

It absolutely does. A7 will get real time eye-AF, but not automatic transition between eye-AF and object AF, while A9 gets the full update. 100% the A7S III will have the best AF on the market, when we see what the A6400 already brings. Now the few people saying video AF is useless geemick and any pro should use MF will have less arguments. A proper DPAF is the first feature I wait for in the GH6. Secondly internal ProRes Raw would be amazing, if not at least internal 10bit at 4K60p. 4K120p or at least a good quality FHD 180p would be nice.

I can't believe they are serving the 6DII sensor in this camera. This company will never stop to disappoint. A $200 APSC Nikon D5200 has better DR and produce better landscape photos than this. That's insane, really insane. They just have to put a decent sony-like sensor in their cameras and give decent specs like 4K no crop (like ALL FF mirrorless manufacturers in the world do except them) and people would be all over Canon. Every body out there no exception would buy Canon if they matched A7III specs even for more expensive because everybody agree their ergonomics is better. Yet ergonomics is not all. At the end of the day if I have the best body and menus in the world to output a 1.7 crop wobbly image at this price then I have got nothing. Yet they prefer to release garbage and only retain some of their users, with 80% of Sony/Nikon users laughing at them. Can't understand this company.

You were right. I placed much hope in this camera and it’s a full disappointment. The lens price is even more laughable and I guess no one but you would have predicted that price for a 50mm 1.4. Good luck to Panasonic selling this joke, they might need some.

You forget the age of A7SII is old gen, when the III is here this year it will offer much more. I have owned a GH5 and Andrew reports the AF on the S1 is worst which is ridiculous and unacceptable. I can guarantee those cameras won’t sell. It does not bring anything exciting to the table really and because they are outsiders they need to bring much more if they want people running away from Sony and canicon.
