  1. Just wondering if anyone has tried using something like a Sandisk Extreme 95mb/s SD with a CF Adapter(like the one on the link) to record Raw on 5D MK2 or MK3? Will this work or is there a loss of speed? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Extreme-SD-SDHC-SDXC-To-CF-Type-II-2-Compact-Flash-Memory-Card-Adapter-Reader-/371135376385?pt=US_Memory_Card_Readers_Adapters&hash=item5669646c01

  4. Is there a raw shooters guide for for the 5D mkii?
  5. Tossing up whether to get a new Tamron 24 -70mm 2.8 VC or a 2nd hand Canon 24 -70mm 2.8, both about the same price? Any thoughts?
  6. hey Andy , Is the RMC Tokina 35 -70mm f4 any good? I was given one and seems really sharp and colorful to me.
  7. I just thought stuff it and bought a 2nd hand Canon 70 - 200mm f4 IS for $900 usd off Ebay! Will get it in a couple of weeks or so.
  8. Can anyone recommend a best bang for buck telephoto for Widllife and Sports preferably with IS? I have a Canon 600D, thanks!
  9. Thanks Max! Had no idea about this camera, just thought the pics looked pretty good and thought it might be reasonable?
  10. New type of sensor with higher resolution. Check out the photos here. http://www.sigmaphoto.com/sigma-dp2-test-shoot?utm_source=Sigma+Corp+of+America&utm_campaign=9aca34b07a-dp2_Quattro_Test_Shoot_View_the_Gallery7_5_2014&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_34bfa8ccd3-9aca34b07a-50814017
  11. So what are the must have EF Lenses for a BMPCC with the EF Metabones in Combo especially for Video/Film?
  12. Oh yeah!! I'm sooo glad I stuck to my guns and bought the EF Sigma 18 -35 and not the Nikon!!
  13. Just a basic maybe stupid question. Is my Pana 14mm on my GF3 actually 14mm? And is the 14mm, 52mm on my BMPCC?
  14. I've bought 2 so far from jinfinance guy which Andy and others recommended here. I have the FD and the EF to M43 and they are both excellent, I'd would expect the M42 would be no different.
  15. They've set the bar sooo high, makes me wanna give up!!
  16. If you were going to pay that sort of money for the 85/1.2, I would buy either the Tamron 70 -200mm VR or Canon 70 -200mm f4 IS. Far more useful and the stabilisation is a massive plus.
  17. Here it is: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1057135-REG/panasonic_dmc_fz1000k_lumix_dmc_fz1000_digital_camera.html?cm_mmc=EML-_-Newsletter_Newsletter-_-140612-_-BannerT_Retail_Panasonic-DMC-FZ1000
  18. Just watched that new BBC thing 'Quirke', the look is gorgeous but the framing is weird, takes rule of thirds to the extreme. Instead of it being seamless i found myself thinking constantly, what's this guy trying to do? He frames up a CU at say extreme left and the actor is eyes are looking 'actors right' then he does the same for the opposing character so that 75% of the screen is dead screen? Bizarre and jolting imo, just for a simple dialogue scene he jolts the viewer out and the magic is lost.
  19. If that's the E series it's actually a Kiron! Kiron made a legendary 28mm or is it 24mm? that's one of the best ever made according to some optics guru guy I read. Kiron made the E series btw.
  20. Agreed! It's not a Kubrik movie, it's a guy in bat suit who can even fly in it for goodness sakes! As for crossing the line, lots of editors actually do it on purpose to piss ppl like him off, just go watch Apocalypse Now again!
  21. Seriously, this is just nit picking! Nothing is real in Batman, Gotham isn't a real city, the Joker is a fictional character. You have to suspend belief to enjoy Action Movies! When a bullet goes through a person, they don't fly back 10 metres, do they? I think this guy has the cork jammed in a bit too tight!!
  22. I don't think the speedbooster offers aperture control? And who knows when the EF will appear and RJ is plenty sharp so I'm happy. The only time I want to stop down outdoors is when you want your wide nice and sharp, I wouldn't stop down for light, I'd use the ND. I just set the Sigma to whatever and swap it out, takes 5 seconds.
