  1. Wow that's a great clip!! How did you color grade this? It looks so open and fresh, very original!!
  2. A bit off topic but saw this recently, http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/157082-graphene-sensor-is-1000-times-more-sensitive-to-light-could-enable-ultra-low-light-photography
  3. Looks like my daughter is gonna grab my ex wifes OM10 which has Olympus 50MM Zuiko and a Tamron 70 - 150mm?? for me. Apparently the ex was gonna throw them out!! She spent a fortune back in the day, took some happy snaps for 2 weeks, then buried it with the other crap she never uses!! Does the the Olympus stuff take an EOS adapter well? That 50mm is an awesome lens, has a real 3d quality about it and nice bokeh too.
  4. Just bought a 600D and have the 18-55mm kit lens, 35mm carl Zeis Jena and now I'm wondering what I should buy around 100mm?? Any suggestions, I need it for video so manual and fixed aperture is good and it has to be 2nd hand under $200 as I'm a poor student. What would be the best bang for buck? ps. I realise I can use adapters for alot of non canon mount.
  5. I was actually buying the D5200 that day I first posted but I ended up buying the 600D because it would be much easier for me to pick up cheap primes for video and I got a great deal on it as well. There is so much more available for canon dslr like magic lantern and accessories etc, it is easier and cheaper this way as I am a fulltime film student and very poor atm!!
  6. I have a 600D and was wondering if I could use the Nikon 18-55mm with an adapter? Does anyone have any experience with Nikon lenses on Canon APC format?
  7. Hi, I just bought a 2nd hand Carl Zeiss Jena 35mm f2.4 lens in PB mount and I'm not sure what adapter I need to mount to my Nikon d5200? Is PB mount an M42? I haven't actually got it yet it's in the mail but thought I could order an adapter so I won't have to wait. Thanks!
  8. Not sure what it all means, but logically, if they make and adapter for old OM lenses to fit Nikon you'd assume they would work??
  9. What does that mean Kasper?? I'm a noob to dslr.
  10. Anyone have any links to lens adapters? Are they all the same? I noticed that they range from like $20 - $200?? I have some SLR OM10 Olypus lenses which I want to use on a Nikon 5200 and I noticed that there are all manner of adapters and prices? Does it matter if I get a $17 adapter?
  11. I have 4 weeks to decide but I think I'm gonna get the Nikon 5200 esp as it matches the video quality of the 5D mk3!! Plus it has variegated lcd and full hdmi out. With a great lens the image quality should increase also and hopefully ntools will include the 5200 soon.
  12. Well I'm a manual slr type background, size/weight not an issue, image quality over features any day. I hope to get a couple of high quality lenses in the future and I intend to shoot doco's, films, music videos. I've actually never used auto focus ever so its not an issue to me and we use Pana P2's here at Tafe, always in manual. I'm just a poor student who wants to get best quality for cheapest price that I won't have to ditch down the track when I earn some money that I can build on? there are so many options its very confusing!!
  13. Actually I just saw this here:  http://www.eoshd.com/content/9713/nikon-d5200-vs-canon-5d-mark-iii   Wouldn't the Nikon 5200 be better than a 50D or GH2? And if I got an expensive cinematic lens down the track, wouldn't the 24mp sensor give me a superior image? The Nikon is $650 atm w/lens. Does it have a greater potential or am I missing something??
  14. Erm, I'm not gonna get a 5D Mk3 for around $600 am I? My budget is only $600 odd.
  15. Well I hope to shoot doco's to start with, I have a friend who is working on doco's all the time so I have contacts. But at the same time shoot my own short films, I'm at film school so there are lots of contacts to do projects. atm I really like the Nikon 5200 at $669 with a 18 -55 lens it looks the best quality imo but not sure??. If I had a preference it would always be image quality over features.
  16. oops I put the wrong link but changed it now! Are any of those Canons any good that are on sale?
  17. Hi all, I'm a poor student in my final year of Dip Screen and Media and contemplating my first Camera for making Films. I have a Budget of about $600 for a Camera and Lens and would appreciate any advice. There seems to be alot of good deals available here for example under $700 aud?    http://www.kogan.com/au/shop/cameras/dslr/?order_by=price     It's so confusing and I just don't have any experience to know which is a good deal and worth holding onto for a while, something that will remain useful in the future? Nikon 3200 w/lens or 5100 w/lens, or   Canon 600D w/lens, or 60D or 100D etc etc.   Or should I go Lumix GH2, I can get one with lens for aound $600 also?   Or perhaps you have a better suggestion? I definitely want a Camera w/Lens option so I can start shooting asap.   Thanks!
