  1. They'll hold time accurately down to the frame all day long from start to finish! Very very accurate, that is the entire point of time code boxes. Your recorder is TC capable, you should for sure get some time code boxes! Sub $1K feels very cheap to me? https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&LH_ItemCondition=3000&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&_nkw=atomos+shogun&_sop=15 Even sub $700!
  2. Eh, the price is fairly competitive alongside other 4K monitor/recorders?!

    NX2 rumors

True point @Trek of Joy! Was just reading about how the Women's Ice Hokey team is is a combined North/South Korean team! Which is nice.
  4. Unfortunately YouTube is turning pretty bad. Google ditched their "Don't Be Evil" motto a long time ago :-(
  5. Or Tentacle Syncs, seeing as they're so dirt cheap now (or even cheaper secondhand the older model): https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1372226-REG/tentacle_sync_te2_sync_e_standard_set.html Or my personal favorite, Ultrasync ONE: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1336977-REG/timecode_systems_tcb_ultrasyncone_ultrasync_one_timecode_sync.html Which recorder do you use? (with what mics?) Ah true, I forgot for a moment my BMPCC needs the "cheaper" Extreme Pro cards (back in the day they were the most expensive version!!). Well, a secondhand Atomos Shogun is very cheap now, get that and load it up with cheap and huge SSD drives :-D
  6. Sadly there is only the Video Devices (same company as Sound Devices) PIX-E5 Which lacks features the competition has, such as FS raw

    NX2 rumors

Unfortunately, I predict that due to Samsung "abandoning" NX system in the past, that IF they released a NX2 in the future it would get less market traction than the NX1 did :-( What about those in the middle ground between the two? :-D I've never owned a NX1, but I do own another NX system camera (sitting right here next to me as I type! Closest camera to me at the moment, only because the BMPCC is on the other side of the desk. Oh wait, does the iPhone on charge count instead as the 2nd closest camera? :-P ), because I got it cheap on eBay as a potential future B cam to the NX1 which I was seriously considering buying as my next "main camera".
  8. Was not unusual for C300mk1 owners to be shooting with adapted Nikon lenses, and the original C300mk1 didn't initially have DPAF I though there was a third party or two who made one, one of those chinese brands
  9. Check out the drop in my dogecoin: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dogecoin/ Ouch That wasn't the original GoPro
  10. Heh, not saying it is, but just prodding other people to share their thoughts too ;-) As half considering one myself....
  11. Yeah, I know of a guy here in New Zealand who made a feature film with a NX1
  12. The $75 B4 lenses however would be SD quality, not HD lenses SD cards are super crazy cheap now in 2018: Microcenter in the USA is having a sale on 128GB SanDisk SanDisk Extreme Pro SDXC UHS-1 U3 Class10 for only $35 http://www.microcenter.com/product/482383/SanDisk_Extreme_Pro_SDXC_UHS-1_128GB Man I remember spending a small fortune on Extreme Pro 64GB cards for my BMPCC, so dirt cheap now for you lucky Americans!
  13. Noooooooo..... another one withuot a mic input :-(
  14. I'm trying to burn up your bandwidth by having to download extra characters on the webpage. No idea, it was just a wild thought I had.
  15. Camera Store TV thinks it is crap? Perfect! Now if everyone else in this thread can shut up about how good it might be, and instead go on about surely how total shit this camera must be, then @Mattias Burling will be certain to come along and review this camera with lots of reasons to convince us why it is an awesome camera! ;-) The last missing part of the jigsaw! I'd take a Pentax 645Z in a heart beat if offered at the right price! (already own the original Pentax 645)
  16. What the hell, for a RED ONE M? (not MX)? Good grief. I haven't seen it quite that low anywhere yet. $2K yes, but not sub $1K! Is nice, I watched this first over on reduser when it was shared
  17. Yeah I wasn't bothering to correct that, I'm giving them the benefit of doubt they know about top secret new lens under development ;-)
  18. Ha! But more seriously, if a person wants a very strong projector at a low cost maybe buy a cheapie then swap out for a stronger LED themselves?? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-shipping-DIY-1080p-HD-projector-120W-high-lumen-10000-10-7-diy-replace-projector-led/32816906185.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.137.57f51530x2qXXa&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_4_10065_10344_10068_10547_10342_10343_10340_10548_10341_10084_10083_10618_10307_5722315_10313_10059_10534_100031_10103_441_10624_442_10623_10622_10621_10620_10142,searchweb201603_25,ppcSwitch_5&algo_expid=4864ef99-5476-4392-b1d5-5a8b444dcd01-18&algo_pvid=4864ef99-5476-4392-b1d5-5a8b444dcd01&priceBeautifyAB=0
  19. Wonder if we'll still be seeing features shot on a RED ONE in a decade from now? Any one here in this forum have first hand experience with the first version? I know the M sensor is a lot worse than MX, but would be interesting to hear more in the context of 2018
  20. I'm still hanging out to hope a 5" Aputure monitor comes out this year.
  21. I was so tempted by this when the KS launched. Glad I showed some will power! :-D

    NX2 rumors

If I was in the market for a new camera I'd be in too! Although to be fair I should drive a stake through my G.A.S..... and just quit with the cycle of buying cameras, but it is tough to stop! However $2.5K could go half way towards say buying a Sound Devices 688 True, even a 4/3" crop of the existing NX1 APS-C 28megapixel sensor could be interesting to MFT manufacturers (Panasonic/Olympus/DJI/BMD/Yi/&more). I think this is the best chance for a "NX2" (be it merely a prototype, or something they sell as a limited release), is purely as an advertising tool for Samsung's cellphones (to showcase the processor) and/or to other camera manufactures (to tempt them to buy the sensor). But I'm skeptical the ROI is there for the R&D for a whole new camera (unless just merely a rough and ready test bed prototype) just as a marketing tool.
  23. It gives a substantial reach advantage, I'd go for that if I was doing run&gun event/doco work.
