  1. This camera seems incredibly well thought out.
  2. Do you mean awesome on a creative level or on an image quality level?
  3. Over the past few weeks I became really curious about whether or not the video quality was "good enough" for my casual use. If it was, then I would "downgrade" to one of these cameras and have a nice time with the large and cheap lens selection, Canon ergos and natural images. Unfortunately, yeh, the video quality really is still too bad. 80D in All-i mode: Fujifilm x100f What you also can't see there is how much noise there is. There is a lot of noise dancing around in the shadows of the Canon image.
  4. I have not shot with the camera but in every video I've seen, it looks abysmal. Including the one Charlie posted. Otherwise I would have bought one by now.
  5. The Sony A7 has abysmal video quality. Worse than any Canon even. Stay away.
  6. Looks great. Hope the 1080p is better. Was pretty bad on the GX85. I love the placement of the AF/AFC/MF dial. The front placement on Fuji cameras is so annoying.
  7. If your primary use is long form video then get a GH5
  8. I think there's a misunderstanding here. The battery grip enables extra recording time, as a feature just like it did on the XT2. Not because it gives you more battery.
  9. Loads of people use SLOG on 8bit codecs... even the Canon C200 is 8bit only with CLOG. Its not one battery per 20 mins. Its just a record time limit for each continuous recording
  10. Don't look at the Sony lineup then or the micro four thirds one either for that matter! The Olympus 12-40 is $800. It's a nice lens but 2.8 on m43 just doesn't look as nice as 2.8 on aps-c. The Panasonic 12mm f1.4 is $1300. The Fuji 16mm f1.4 is $1000. Of the three mirrorless brands (Sony Fuji and m43), Fuji actually has some of the cheapest lenses (when comparing lenses of equivalent focal length and aperture). Trying to make comparisons with canon is difficult really because they don't put out crop sensor lenses. I'm still waiting for their 35mm equivalent in f2 or larger aperture. One thing that bothers me about this camera... It's so f*cling ugly! Also it's still using a 3 inch 1million dot LCD. Give us 3.2 inch OLED with more pixels please! Also still has that awkward switch to video mode. Although I got used to that pretty quickly on the XT2.
  11. Great video David. Just one question. Why are you wearing a windbreaker throughout it?
  12. Interesting. There is a 2048x1080 (2k) mode. The specs sound great. Weight is around 670g, so similar to the Sony A9. Record time limitation is annoying for event shooters. Lack of headphone jack in body is unfortunate too! But these seem to be the only weaknesses of the camera really. Hoping the 120p will be good quality. OH, great price as well!
  13. This camera is going to be hot. Ergonomics on par with Panasonics and Canons. But with the IQ and AF of the XT2. Oh and the nice line of fairly compact native lenses. And with a price expectation of $2000. Only annoying thing is that it's not rumoured to have 60p 4k.
  14. I agree there are elements that are really stupid, such as the two different control panels. But as for the design, that's personal, and I like it. I really dislike how the window system works in Mac.
  15. AFAIK the image is the same. Or a bit cleaner at high iso's on the c100 ii.
  16. Everyone has different experiences. I really disliked the Mac interface when I tried it years ago. Windows gives me no problems.
  17. I would buy Canons all day if they would just put out good 1080p. Oh also a 22mm EF-S and/or 35mm EF-M would help too. They just seem to be solid cameras with usability in mind. As well as having natural colour.
  18. Andrew is an apple fanboy confirmed
  19. Something about the camera work seemed off to me. But even worse was the colour grading. Terribly ugly stuff!
  20. Sorry for resurrecting this thread but A7R II's are now getting really cheap. New ones going for less than £1500 on ebay. Used ones going for less than 1400.
  21. If you scroll down to the bottom of the website, you can Add it to cart.
  22. I am surprised to find that I like the image out of the EVA1 the most out of that comparison
  23. Different markets really... A7r iii is double the price of the gh5
