why the hell do they put a 30 minutes limit on video recording on their high end 3k$ prosumer camera ? (the gh4 is half the price and has no time limit, are the gh4 and the 2 blackmagic 4k the only three sub $3000 interchangeable lens camera to be free of this 30 min limit in 4k?)
Because to be able to record continually, they would need to be more like a RED than like a mirrorless!!! Heat builds up!!!

In what other way than shallow DoF? I find the RAW and DR from the BM cameras opens up way more creative possibilities than simply using a larger format.
In full frame you get the full "problems" of your lens. Since most of us loves lenses more for their defects than their "clean" quality, a full frame camera gives you more "optical defects" and less DOF. In a cropped sensor, only the center of your lens is used, which is the more correct optically! Sorry for my english!

Super chulo! Congratulations!!!

It arrived to 11 punds!

The people who will support your short will probably be your family and friends, you could start with them. I don't see people giving money to others to make films, unless there is some serious return. Not with you or me, but neither with famous directors!

Go with a prime! Wider if you prefer wide angles or longer if you prefer so!

From $9000 to $5000 is near half of it. I mean, they wanted to make too much money before or too little now. Or it's just me??

Yeah, I'd like to see how small can they make the GH4. My only issue with cameras like that is the battery life.
Plus they get too warm and stop recording after several minutes!

What do you guys think will be faster benchmark-wise? The new iMac 5k retina or the top of the line MacBook Pro 15" with discrete GPU?
Unless they messed up something, the iMac should be faster!
I must say I edit LX100 4K files on my Macbook Pro without any problem! The other day I handed a GoPro 2 file, 1080p25 MP4 to a guy with an i7, 16Gb RAM pc notebook and it played stuttering.......

Do you want pixelation all the time, not only in movement?
A working All-I codec! ;-)

Someone should invent an ALL-I internet codec!

Does the colour match your macbook screen?
I find it a complete bitch to match colours with apple and non apple screens. I have an LG with Adobe software and the calibration never, ever matches.
That's the point of calibration. Most new monitors are maybe 2-3% off, with calibration you bring them all within 0.X% where you don't see nearly any difference. I have a Macbook Pro Retina and an old Dell and they nearly match!

With the lens wide open you get brighter images than real life. It's not a low-light monster, but it's not bad!

Biggest update is the squared lens hood! A little step for Canon, a big step for humanity??

The LX100 is a great camera!!!

Film was better for more than a hundred years, now the truth is that digital is better, much better. Film is a nice flavour and we love it for her defects!!!

Thanks a lot Ed! I am happy to have asked, your text is wonderful!!!
The importance of firmware updates and why Panasonic are too late with V-LOG for the GH4

The camera/firmware race is great! The real problem, and I really have little hope for a solution, is that normal people can't jump from/to a Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, Canon without having to rebuild a lens set. Adapters are OK sometimes or too expensive. For the price of a Metabones adapter I can get a LX100!!!
