    More news from Rectilux...
The lightweight model 3FF-W and ultralight model 3FF-S both feature a quick change anamorphic lens system. Rectilux has been designed for easy swap out of base anamorphic engines to allow different looks and flares as part of your shooting aesthetic,
Ten scopes are supported from the get go and more are planned.
It literally takes less than one minute to swap out anamorphic lenses.
Each Rectilux 3FF will include all coupling rings and clamps for your chosen base anamorphic engine, with extra ones for different scopes available seperately.

Of interest, is the 3FF-S model for the ISCO Animex/S8 which will include an infinity modification kit for seamless integation with the 3FF-S system.

I assume this Baby Blue will be less than 500e and cheaper to ship than the other module and fits the Moller which I think will be the anamorphic i'll try for, if I can find one.

JohnBarlow got a reaction from anid in Schneider-Kreuznach anamorphic projector lens
Andy, your attempts to provide justification for the claim of 6feet MFD are insincere at best.   Here is why:   1) Regardless of the indicated focal range on the transfer, silk screened on the side, the Cinelux have two physical constraints preventing sub 3m operation without dioptres. Firstly the inner tube butts up against the rear element assembly and secondly there is an internal metal obstruction. This double whammy cannot be overcome without a significant re-engineering of the design. I speak from experience as I have just completed harvesting the glass from a small batch of these units and have disassembled them down to the atomic level.   2) Cinelux are designed for F2 operation with Cinelux flat lenses. They also work with older units like Xenons and ISCO sphericals from F2.1 to F2.8. Projection sphericals do not have an aperture which can be adjusted apart from some Cinelux units which have F1.8 to F4 via thumbscrew. There is no way a projectionist can set F16!    Besides, there is no lamp bright enough to support this Fstop even if it were possible because it would incinerate the film.   Of course, dioptres are not an option with these units as they will cover/prevent access to the focus controls, wont they?   An average lit living room is typically F2, 800ISO @1/50s. To get to F16 you need 6 stops brighter illumination.   So how many 10Kwatt HMI lamp heads plus ballast are you recommending to pull off your F16/ 6Feet  trick?????

    Some more news from Rectilux.

Earlier I posted some footage from experiments in superwide anamorphic. The Rectilux 9FF now has a face and it is the first incarnation of the various embodiments I have been experimenting with. It is a 2x zoom anamorphic lens, field of view 180-90 degrees. Some product views on my website.

@Cosimo Murgolo   I am looking at this thread in the light of the Forum rules on Selling. It would appear that you are setting yourself up as an agent for these goods, and I feel obliged to remind you about the Forum rules on Selling detailed below:   PROVE THEY HAVE THE GOODS   - Request to see photos of the items being sold with their EOSHD username displayed alongside it, preferably in handwriting on piece of paper so it cannot be faked.   COMMUNICATE   - Check their forum posting history, see if they are new. If they have a genuine history of posts and contributions to the forum, the seller is more likely to be genuine. - If possible speak with the seller by telephone - Until a deal has been closed, converse with the seller openly on the forum   ASK FOR ID   - Get a real name, address and ID - If they refuse full details on privacy grounds, ask to continue the deal and all private comms via eBay instead of the forum   USE SAFE PAYMENT METHOD   - DO NOT use Western Union or wire transfers - PayPal is preferable over bank transfers - Ask if they accept cash on collection   SELLERS   - Sellers should provide a price in the main topic - Sellers should provide a link to their feedback on eBay and be contactable via their eBay account - Topics that don't meet these rules may be at risk of being deleted   DISCLAIMER EOSHD is not responsible for buying and selling on the forums, deal at your own risk and buyer beware     In addition to these rules I will also remind you about international regulations governing Rules of origin for imported and exported goods:   https://www.gov.uk/rules-of-origin   other countrys have equivalent legislation, designed to prevent under the counter trading in goods.   I dont make the rules here, Andrew Reid does.    If you feel that you are a special case, then you should seek relaxation of the rules from Andrew Reid personally and display any concession granted here. Else you run the risk of having this thread purged.

    Hi Cal,

Yes sir, it really really really is single focus, its the real thing. You can pull focus, follow focus and get in really close. Furthermore you can use a zoom as well as your favourite prime glass.

Its not only that of course - its CinemaScope just like the movies and it is a professional tool with minimum focus of 0.65m (thats 2ft imperial), no dioptres required, focus throw of 195 degrees, comes with a Steam Punk support rig for 15mm rails and works with prime lenses and zooms in the range 50mm to 200mm and it weighs just 500g (just over 1lb imperial). The mumps are almost undetectable.

It is not just a conversion - it is a completely custom developed optical prescription using vintage scopes. The vintage look digitally remastered through a process I call Revisioneering.

    It is laid out here

@araucaria - The grade is a custom one, from a short film I'm making now. I like the Impulz LUTs, I used them as reference, though I agree that they can be a bit strong. But yeah, I boosted the red gamma in the shadows ;-)

@JohnBarlow - Yeah I'm interested, can you tell me more? How does the single focus modification work?

I was actually planning to 3d-print a set of custom gear wheels to rack double-focus on both Kowa and taking lens (already measured + drawn up, just need to design an extra bracket arm to mount the gears on the follow focus)
