Emanuel reacted to markr041 in GoPro Hero 11 is approaching Cinema Camera Standards with New Updates
First, the Flat profile is indeed a log profile, and the gamma can be adjusted in the camera. And 10bit colors was available at the start even in 5.3K 60p. In Linear mode, there is hardly any fisheye, and at 5.3K resolution there is plenty of detail for 4K despite the crop.
But now with GoPro Labs firmware:
1. You can up the bitrate to 200 Mbps (HEVC, 10bit).
2. You can now shoot 4K 120p in 10bit (newest firmware).
3. You can turn off noise reduction - and you get visibly more detail, and any noise is actually very fine.
5.3K using 2.35:1 crop (10bit, Flat, Linear, extended color gamut (Native), 180 Mbps HEVC):
4K 120P 10bit, Flat, 180Mbps:

Emanuel reacted to Chrille in Christmas Movie shot on Blackmagic // Merry Christmas to everyone on the EOSHD forum
Merry Christmas to the whole EOSHD Forum crew!
i shot this little christmas film on the blackmagic pocket 6K pro with the Sigma 16-35 and the laowa probe. As it borrowed all the Lego models, the camera (thanks to Impossiple Filmproduction in Hamburg) the probe it was a whole lot of production time. Also it took quite long to set the whole thing up. Of course i wanted to tell little stories with the lego figures, but time became tooooo tight and it took me several attempts to find a lighting situation that would work. Of course the scene would have also been much greater if i had more of the practical lamps.I looked for small lights around the house and now there is a variety of lamps inside the houses. You can fiddle around with the lighting for ages! i definitelely had the feeling i had to stop when i was just getting started. This might also be a fun thing to just shoot on an iphone.. Hopefully next year...
And of course i would be happy if you would show the film to your children, share it and like and comment and follow my channel on youtube...
And to show the improvement i am also putting in the first LIL chilltrain Christmas movie from two years ago.

Indeed! : D You've succeeded once again as usual, at least along this season when you're used to post it! Your touch... : ) But la periodista is for real, not part of the squad! ; ) Muy bien!
Merry Christmas to you, @kaylee and all of you too!
@Andrew Reid he should already know where our thoughts and prayers are! :- )

Great installation art WOW Where have you found it?
Loved the shot with the dog too, as usual everything coming from you as the artist you are, kudos to you!

Emanuel got a reaction from shooter in Canon EOS R5C
In any case, it is natural the shooter had often used a very high set of ISO values which will naturally increase noise artifacts more visible in the dark areas such as those blacks and blues.
Not apples to oranges. That's the only way to compare tools.

On 00:14 I don't notice anything but on the rest, yes, you're right although that looks like to me the introduction of compression artifacts, not necessarily coming from the native files : ) You're watching processed pictures, not the original acquisition. Anything adultered is nothing about the ones SOOC.
You can only have an accurate idea when you face that stuff the camera directly produced, shot by the device without any further processing or you can fairly infer that's noise introduced later on.

OIS is always on and it helps on the gimbal with the mini vibration of the jeep
One more with a more complex movement with the jeep this one with pre-focusd and then AF locked, 8K 50 RAW 1/100 slow down 2x, gimbal 70-200
-
Emanuel reacted to gt3rs in Canon EOS R5C
Digital IS is available in all modes other than RAW. 8k 50/60 is RAW only. 8k 24-30 MP4 supports Digital IS, 4k 100/120 also.

One simpler scenario for AF, R5c on gimbal handheld on the vehicle moving, 70-200 at 2.8, 8K RAW 50fps slowed down 2x.

Emanuel reacted to Marcio Kabke Pinheiro in IBIS, OIS, DIS, motion-sensing gyro...
I prefer IBIS, but it have to be good for video. Oly is best, Panasonic and Canon are almost on par, dunno about Nikon. Sony still have some work, and Fuji is worst. But even Fuji is miles better than the Sony's initial generations.
I like a lot the idea of gyro data, and saw VERY good footage from it. But you have to shoot wider than expected, because gyro uses a crop, and the crop factor will be only known when you stabilize on computer.

25 fps, only lens IS, lens Canon RF 400 2.8 IS (rented). I don't use EIS as I'm RAW only other than when I need 120fps that I need to use 10bit log.
On long lenses 70-200, 100-500 and 400 in my experience IS works better than IS+IBIS, and as you cannot turn off IBIS and keep IS on the R5 I always use the R5c for long lens work especially handled.

Another year, I return with my traditional police Christmas video. This year a short film of a thief who climbs the walls dressed as Santa Claus, to camouflage himself as the popular Christmas decoration. Remember that it is a video that we make in which each roll is interpreted by policemen, not actors, and that the technical section this time is made up of some more members of the squad, where only 2 of us have audiovisual knowledge.
I hope it makes you laugh at least a small part of what we have laughed shooting it.
A greeting to all, and especially to Andrew.

Emanuel reacted to SMGJohn in Panasonic S5 II (What does Panasonic have up their sleeve?)
DJI does offer that with tracking and face detection on their RS3 gimbal and the 3rd generation LiDAR sensor.
They said they would make a handle so you could use it without the gimbal.

Emanuel reacted to John Matthews in Panasonic S5 II (What does Panasonic have up their sleeve?)
Wouldn’t it be nice to use cinema glass with flawless AF? Or even anamorphic? No one is offering that.
There is something to be said for LiDAR. It will most likely surpass what is possible with PDAF, especially with car manufacturers investing so much.

Emanuel reacted to gt3rs in Canon R6 Mark II Announced
I used in mine on snow, rain and Africa outside on a jeep in a very sandy environment never had any issue.
The battery I fully agree is pita.

Well I very welcome of you to go ahead and get one, and tell us your experience of using it. Maybe your experience is much more positive and warmer than me lol.

Did a shoot with my friend today.. yeah the R5C is perm fixed to the tripod lol.
Originally he was thinking of using R5C for mobile and C70 on tripod, but the usability of C70 is just make it much better overall. I had the same feeling too.
I guess spec on paper is one thing and overall user experience is another, if you use camera everyday then usability wins hands down as you will want to use the camera that in sync with you than try to fight you each time.

Emanuel reacted to ntblowz in Canon R6 Mark II Announced
I think Canon could really have to fix the R5C's usability, atm it's borderline usable but could be much better, like there is no reason not to shoot videos on still mode, or using dpaf Ii on cine mode as it is the same sensor! And only 40min on standby..

Emanuel reacted to ntblowz in Canon R6 Mark II Announced
Who would have thought R7 actually have more DR than R6 II on video mode?
The R5 is definitely the best investment I've done so far, 4K50P runs all day without overheating after the last update, and the few cam that does hdmi + internal recording + internal monitor display on.

R5 and R5c have exactly the same weather sealing and same rating.
-
Emanuel reacted to ntblowz in Canon R6 Mark II Announced
I am actually not that enthusiastic on R5C after using it 6 months later... the C70 got a lot more use nowadays, and sometimes if we are out shooting remotely R5 get picked over R5c because of battery and weather sealing against all weather and condition. We got a tiny sand stuck on the on switch of C70 which we have to send in to fix when we did a shoot on the dune, the R5 have no problem whatsoever.
So R5C is mostly a tripod camera with usb power adapter connect to the main for us nowadays beside acting as still cam. My friend also use R5C as tripod camera with v mount battery while he roam around on his C70 too.

IBIS... jack of all trades but not always better than master of one.
