Bunny Suit – Weird Ballad live at Tempelton Studio, Berlin. Directed by Andrew Reid. Watch on YouTube.

Berlin based band Bunny Suit (follow here on Facebook / SoundCloud) recently went into Temeplton Studio to lay down some tracks.

We decided to shoot a live video of the recording which would then be synced up perfectly with the final mix of the tracks in post.

The Sony A7S in this shoot is graded using the lovely “Manchester” LUT from James Miller’s Deluts pack. But there were 6 other cameras backing it up. Can you tell which is which!?

New OK Go music video shot on Panasonic GH4

I don’t know at what point OK Go’s music turned into New Order but I like the new direction almost as much as their choice of camera! Here’s the behind the scenes video of how OK Go made their latest video with the Panasonic GH4.

Why the Olympus OM-D E-M1 is better than expected for video (Review)

Featuring original music by HERDWHITE –  “I Already Know What For”.

The E-M1 is a real surprise for a video.

For this review I decided to set myself a challenge with a musician friend, where we’d shoot a music video ‘Dogme 95’ style.

 • Entirely handheld with the Olympus 5 axis stabliser
 • Very basic lights (iPhone torch and a flame)
 • Maximum of 2 shooting days

In the process I learned a lot about what makes the E-M1 such an effective camera for filmmakers.

Renowned British filmmaker Shane Meadows shoots Jake Bugg music video on Blackmagic Pocket Cinema camera and BMCC

Above, left: Shane Meadows shoots with the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera

Shane Meadows (Dead Man’s Shoes, This Is England) is in my view the best filmmaker since Danny Boyle to come out of the North of England. While shooting his latest film, a Stone Roses documentary “Made of Stone” Meadows met Jake Bugg at a London gig where he was playing as a support act.

A big thanks to Ciecio7 for donating his superb OCT19 to E-Mount lens adapter for this shoot. This is available on eBay.

We shot this with the young German movie actress Lili Zahavi (IMDB) and theatre actor Niklas Brubach. A big thanks to both of them for their performances. This is a music video for my fellow friend from Manchester “Herdwhite” whose track Dreamleaver was recorded here in Berlin.

The Sony FS100 has a nice image but it isn’t as organic as the Blackmagic Cinema Camera. To make it more organic you use organic lenses. Actually as Herdwhite would tell you it is the same with music. You can use a drum sample – but it is not as organic as a real drummer. Anamorphic gives you instant production value if used well.

Glasnost – music video shot in Berlin with an iPhone torch

https://vimeo.com/17987299

In the last few weeks I’ve been locked away in a dark studio in Berlin working just on EOSHD.com, but I also found time with my resident music-producing mate to make this video, shot with the available lighting in the studio:

Watch the Robert Rodriguez EOS 7D music video

Back a few months ago Sin City director and Predators producer Robert Rodriguez was spotted with a Zacuto rig and 2 7Ds on location at Zillker Park in Austin, Texas.

It’s a pleasure to now be able to see it. The music video has premiered on IFC.com (the Independent Film Channel) complete with an interview with the man himself.
