My GH5 Anamorphic Gimbal Setup

Recommended Posts

After trying so many different lenses (both anamorphic and taking lenses), I believe this is the best out of what I own.......

Voitglander Classic 35mm F1.4 MC

Bolex Moller 19/1,5x

Raynox Wide Angle Conversion Lens 0.66x

Zhiyun Crane Gimbal Version 2

Wide angle - Around 24mm View??

Image are sharp and it looks like that anything beyond 3ft are all in focus when I stop down to F4

Please let me know what you think and show me whats your setup!

I neeeeed one of those Voightlander pancakes. The 40mm m42 one plus Lens Turbo puts it at the minimum vignette-free angle for my Aivascope.

Don't have a GH5, but here's what I'm using now.

Panasonic G7, Sigma 30mm f/2.8 Art, Aivascope 1.75x anamorphic, Aivascope Focuser 8, Behoder DS1. If I remove the rubber eye cup I can get full rotation and it's perfectly balanced with this setup. The Focuser 8 makes it front-heavy, so the camera is pushed back further on the rig. I'm hoping that when I get a GH5 a heavier camera will make this easier to balance. I can also balance this with the Leica 42.5mm f/1.2, but full rotation is not possible. Kinda weird how having a light camera puts you at a disadvantage sometimes, haha.

I bet you could use a wider taking lens and no WA converter and it would almost be the same but better quality image.

You are right, they are similar, but I also need to consider the total weight & length of the lenses set up. I currently don't have any "small enough" 28mm lens.

Attached are some sample photos

Sorry about the quality of the photos, just compare the angle. Also if you are using the IBIS, I believe the 35mm lens is a better choice. Believe me, I did try a lot of different lenses...... I will try my best to upload a testing video asap......

Yep, very similar FOV. Those vertical flares are pretty weird though (I assume from converter glass), converter also looks to be adding softness which is to be expected. Could be ok in certain scenarios though.

My GH5 setup with Baby Hypergonar and Aivascope Focuser 8 - on Pilotfly gimbal

Man, I need to get a GH5 or something heavier. My rig is too front-heavy and is really hard to walk with and get smooth shots. Are you using custom PID settings or Pilotfly presets?

Man look at this gear porn! I thought I was crazy for owning 16 lenses and only using 4 most of the time!
