Wit
When searching the internet for the best memory cards for the Panny GH3 i encounter a lot of different thoughts. - Which card is best for filming with the GH3 in all-I mode? (all-I is the best mode ins't it?) - How much does the camera 'eat' when filming in the different modes? How much card is eaten in a particular timeframe? Excuse me - english isn't my native tongue. And thank you for the effort!
nahua
All-I mode is the highest bit-rate and thus least amount of recording time. AVCHD uses the most efficient codec and has the most recording time. Here's what I have: 64GBMOV 1080P60P, 1080P30P, 1080P24P - 2hr49minMOV All-I 1080P30P, 1080P24P, 720P60P - 1hr57minAVCHD 1080P60P - 5hr2minAVCHD 1080P60i - 8hr17minAVCHD 1080P30P, 1080P24P - 5hr52min 32GBMOV 1080P60P, 1080P30P, 1080P24P - 1hr24minMOV All-I 1080P30P, 1080P24P, 720P60P - 58minAVCHD 1080P60P - 2hr30minAVCHD 1080P60i - 4hr7minAVCHD 1080P30P, 1080P24P - 2hr55min You should download the manual, it has more numbers and information. Zach
Again Nahua - Thank you very much ;-)Which class are the cards you are mentioning in your own examples? You'll probably need something like the Sandisk extreme pro - they record 95mb/s They're a bit expensive though! nahua
I always use Sandisk. But I have both Extreme Red Cards (45mb/s) and Extreme Pro Gold Cards (95mb/s). Both work very well. And unlike using a GH2 with any hack, no crashes or problems. I think you could use any SD card at least with 45mb/s speed.
richg101
95/mbs gold pro's are good to have due to being really fast when scanning through during review of your footage in camera. a lot of slower cards may be happy writing, but when playing back - scanning thought they take time to scroll through. the same for deleting files. most class 10 cards will be fine though id imagine

To Hack or not to hack is a difficult question because almost all the hacks tent to create instability and with the GH3 is is probably not necessary (and I dont think it is possible yet).. I would go for a well know branded make (Kingston/Sandisk) for reliability but you dont need the most expensive.
Wit
Thankx to all. I used Sacndisk class 10 for All I on my first shot video and it worked fine. @Zach I don't need to hack the GH3 ;)
