I entered my address and it came back with very specific sites / apps that I've used over the years on this 'burner' email address.
Would be a lot of effort to put together such an enormous database just to harvest some email addresses. If that was your intent you'd just buy one of these dodgy lists for a lot less effort! -

Sites get hacked all the time.
and worse, they don't tell people about it. They just sit silent because they don't want people to get upset or get the bad PR and mostly people won't notice because they give the same email address to everyone, so who can tell how your email address got onto a spam list.
Stick your email address in here to see if it's been involved in a breach:

You'll be surprised how wide spread these are. -

I think this camera is every bit as revolutionary as the original Canon 5D
Arguably up there with the very invention of photography.

you gonna call everyone a canon fanboy?
No, only those that are, such as yourself. This forum is, on the whole, much more objective than somewhere like dpreview, though there are a handful of canboys on here that don't like their bias being pointed out.
QuoteI just said the camera is worse than garbage and gerald went soft on them.
His review is very fair and objective. Unlike the stuff you post, Canon apologist.
QuoteI like how suddenly he is the most respected of them all lol.
Outside of your bubble he is.
QuoteYou are becoming quite an annoyance on here.
Ditto.

People get easily wowed when someone has a command over numbers.
You can't do a proper review in bite sized pieces. For example he says ibis is bad and then shows one small clip. Here is a full range of tests which shows exact opposite.
Gerald said that he thinks color on a7siii is comparable to Arri Alexa. I will let people decide what that means and what to believe.
Edit: if I am reviewing these cameras, I am trashing the absolute hell out of them - not just saying bad marketing.
One of the most respected and impartial camera reviewers posts an incredibly detailed review that highlights both the pros and the cons of these cameras.
Meanwhile a canboy furiously googles to find another canboy that disagrees with Gerald.
Not difficult and obvious to see why.

The average shot may be a second, but if you've ever been on the set of a commercial, you'd know that shot took 4 hours to make.
And anybody that’s ever been on an actual set (rather than an Internet forum) the camera is on the entire time for setup before the take.
Bang goes your R5. Could the talent just hang around for 2 hours before we go again?
Ridiculous.

Gerald points out that, with current color profiles, the R5 and R6 have poor dynamic range. So that mitigates against the R5 as being "possibly the best mirrorless camera out there." And plus, seriously, ~$4k for a 1080p camera in 2020 is so... 2020.
Nuts isn't it! This is the 'flagship'. 2005 called and wants its camera back.
Canon have said they may add C log 3 via firmware which would obviously improves things, but with the much much larger issues I can see that going to the back of the dev queue. -

No insults or your insults?? How many people you here have called canboys? Your posts don't contribute for anything. We all know they overheat, so what? Add anything new or do a favor and shut up. Your attacks don't help.
Andrew specifically made a request to avoid squabbling, yet you've ignored him, accused me of being a troll and telling me to shut up. After I just posted a helpful video.
This is not your forum, it's Andrew's, so I suggest you refrain from telling other users to shut up and comply with Andrew's request to avoid arguments - which is exactly what you have started here whilst accusing me of derailing which is exactly what you continue to do.
I say again, quit this nonsense and let's get back to the cameras. -
Peter McCannons 48 part special exploring the lives of Eskimos should be awesome.
Might take him a while though, waiting for the R5 to cool down between takes.

I think Canon are delaying / cancelling orders so they don't have to recall as many.
There's many on other forums that pre-ordered that haven't received them and are being kept in the dark as to why. -

Well even at 1080p the R5 is possibly the best mirrorless camera out there if it does not overheat and you dont need 4K.
"if it does not overheat and you dont need 4K." is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

Given Canon absolutely positioned this as pro tool I'm increasingly of the opinion this isn't a deliberate cripple hammer to protect the C line, but a development and engineering screw up.

This is like playing russian roulette with the most important day of a couple's lives.
Good luck with that.
Grossly unprofessional IMO. -

Bloom puts a shit ton of effort into his reviews, no doubt. Some of these YT's I swear its the amount of time it takes them to shoot it.
-
It's funny, on the canboy forums prior to launch they were getting *very* excited about the much hyped video specs. Now it's revealed certain modes are basically unusable they're all like:
'I don't shoot much video anyways, I'm more of a stills guy'.or
'You can shoot 'safety mode' 4K unlimited'.
Crappy line skipped low quality 4K. Welcome to 2015 and its 4+ grand for the privilege!

Bloom clearly knows what's he's talking about and he's completely transparent about his relationship with Sony. He's very detailed, but I do find him a bit rambly. Prefer Gerald Undone's style of reviews.

Nonsense... you don't even read my posts or you wouldn't put me in the same line of any fanboys to praise whatever brand you dislike. How can you comment them then, humm?? : D I am a regular poster on EOSHD since the early beginning, for almost a decade now. What about you? Since last month of July...??
:- D
It's absolutely laughable you infer I am here ignoring this issue or praising them when their commitment clearly doesn't match mine! WOW
It's not difficult to follow the position or experience of someone but for that, you need to read them first.
; )
Last but not least, how old are you? Or you'll omit my question as much as when you mentioned engineer skills as the quality to be entitled to trust Tilta products and I asked about yours? No pun intended.
And you're still lacking any answer to add up there... ; ))
Nonetheless, maybe you know more on basic laws of thermal dynamics than them from Tilta? ;- ]
You're making canboy type comments, you may not like that being pointed out, doesn't stop it being true.
You're also rather keen to state your credentials at every turn. I typically find people that know what they're talking about display that knowledge through what they actually say, rather than having to have a mini CV at the bottom of every post.
You're assuming (because you want to believe there's a silver bullet to Canon's shit show) that the Tilta device will work. People far more experienced in peltier coolers than you have explained why they don't think it will work. You and the other canboys are simply clutching at straws because your beloved Canon has shit the bed in such epic fashion.

I still had a few issues with its specs even before the overheating fiasco; 30min limit on video recording this is ridiculous in 2020, no dual slot recording this has been my pet peeve for a long time with most Canon cameras, and no XLR module; I love my GH5's XLR module, it makes matching it up with the C200 so easy and all of my audio gear is XLR.
But I think I would have been willing to give those things up if it had lived up to the marketing hype in every other way.
You never get 100% of what you want, there's always compromises, but I think for most people it was aimed at - it was enough.
Except of course it wasn't in one huge show stopping regard. -
It's hugely frustrating because the R6 would have been a massive seller for Canon had they got it right.
This (would) have been the camera that many many people that want full frame for stills and video would need at that price point.
The AF, screen, handling etc etc all excellent. Yet the show stopping issue scuppers it all.
Massive missed opportunity by Canon. -

The grey market is your friend! Bypass all the unjustified costs, you save thousands on a whole system, plus somewhere like panamoz you get a 3 year warranty. I've no qualms buying grey and have done for years.

I'm bewildered by someone playing devil's advocate for a camera that can overheat in photo mode.
Incredible isn't it. First the camera is shown to fail for video and now for stills but any criticism is 'whining'.
This has to be one of the worst products for reliability Canon has ever released and it'll be the end users who suffer after spending thousands - but don't criticise Canon!
Canboys at their very worst.

This guy neglected to mention in the video he shot at 24p, not the higher frame rates. Then he had to add an update that other people were using recorders and getting overheating.
Simply not reliable, 4+ grand please!
