  1. Get a cheap g7 or gx85. I have the g7 and the 4K is really nice and should match with your gh5 especially if both are in cinelile d. Also they have a great built in intervilometer that works with raw stills and can also compress them into 4K 100mbps 24fps. Both are really cheap

Version 16 is probably very close to being released so if you're happy with 15 then I'd suggest waiting.  You could even wait for feedback on the released v16 and potentially wait for 16.1, assuming there's nothing new in v16 that you want.

Yeah. I don’t feel that I need any of the new features, but want to try them because they seem really cool. Although I can cut pretty darn fast on the existing edit page.

  3. Thinking about getting this lens because it’s cheap fast and versatile.

Either will get it with or without speedbooster.

Anyone uses this lens on micro four thirds without speedbooster?  Is speed boosting this lens worth it?

It's been stable for me too, but I think this is one of those "if you have to ask" kind of situations.  If you don't have time to mess around then just use 15...

Of course, no software is 100% reliable these days!

Thanks. The build of resolve 15 is super stable for me at the moment so I’m debating updating

I use the GH5, GH5s, & P4Ks to livestream (multicam) many times per week and have produced literally hundreds of episodes of content with them. I used to livestream with the JVC LS300s, until I sold them all, due to poor dynamic range and poor low light performance. I am admittedly biased as I get paid to do this professionally.

You can live stream with all sorts of equipment, if you know what you are doing. You can even livestream with many of the action cams if you wanted to do so.

I wonder how successful they will be if they intend the camera be used for live streaming. I suspect that low-end streamers will use their phones and people who are doing this more professionally will go right past this camera for something better. For example, a low-end streamer could use a Canon M50 + encoder and have about the same amount of money invested. (not apples-to-apples, but similar $)

When I am selecting a camera to use on paying live broadcasts, a *lot* more goes into the decision that just the cost of the camera. I am certainly open to looking into the camera further. Perhaps it would be great for that purpose. For me, though, I think I would just purchase the regular E2 (which I believe also streams) to get the better image quality.

This camera reminds me of a RED or an older Blackmagic camera.  You get drawn in by the amazing specs and the low price considering those specs but then you end up having to buy a bunch of accessories just to make the camera usable. Yes a used gh5 would be similar priced to the total amount of the e2c with accessories, but the gh5 is overall superior. Who wants to use a gh4 sensor in 2019?  Not me!

apparently I accidentally quoted the previous post. Whoops!

Not sure if it improved the actual peaking at all, but it certainly makes it easier to see where the lines are. Even without peaking, though, monochrome makes it easier for your eyes to see what's in focus.

Cool. I’m going to try that. Thanks so much

  7. Panasonic’s implementation of focus peaking on their lumix cameras is horrible. It is affected by a few things including contrast, which means having a flatter profile negates the effectivity of focus peaking. Also the sharpness setting seems to affect it which sucks because I like little to no internal sharpening. My current settings are natural with contrast at -5 and sharpness at -5. Focus peaking settings are set to low and blue color. Barely any peaking appears unless I’m in a pretty high contrast scene. How do you guys find the focus peaking?  Any ways to improve it?  An external monitor would be obvious but the g7 can’t do that while recording :(

    Eh, hard pass then.

They really need work on their marketing. Keeping track of all the variants is confusing. I also don't think we needed a stripped down cinema camera with a five year old sensor, maybe that's just me though?

It doesn't seem that much more advanced than the E1 that they ran a fire sale on a year ago.

Feels like they took the e1 and swapped the processor for 10 bit lol.

I hope the e1 gets a raw hack as it already got hacked for high bit rates on personalview.com. I wish I bought one of these at $250
