Exactly this. It feels like a random footage generator rather than a tool. I've seen some impressive stuff in runway promos but they generate 1000s of videos in order to pick one. 

The benefits of N-Raw won't be visible on Youtube. It's overkill for most projects but for HDR it's a must have.
I also noticed that the quality is worse than H265 in 4K modes on Z6III due to line skipping. 

Finally, they've made a working 709 conversion LUT after all these years. Filmbias LUT is nice, the rest are not very useful.

Gyro stabilization in my testing is better than in-camera stabilization and post stabilization but the workflow is still a pain. Both Gyroflow and Catalyst have limitations and annoyances, so most often than not I rely on in-camera stabilization. 

All modern cameras have good colors. It's all comes down to filming and post production.

Not surprising for $3500 toy. It's cool and all but there's nothing unique about it to justify owning it.

Hollywood shoots ProRes for the most part, except for VFX plates.

Exactly. Most of these companies are working on the model "we will figure out how to make profits later" which may not be sustainable in the long run. 

One of the best books that I read about color theory is The Art of Color by Johannes Itten. It can be found on ebay for cheap.

ZF probably makes more sense than Z6II or Z7II because of internal N-LOG but the handling is way worse. I wouldn't use it for video because of it. Looks great though. 

Cinema is not about being smooth or representing reality, otherwise anamorphic lenses or color grading wouldn't exist. 

If anyone is interested how Nikon ZF compares to Z8 in UHD

I've been wanting to play with digital bolex for a while. Hard to find free time and come up with the project that would justify the rental cost but I'm hoping to get one before they all disappear.
