    Haters

    Why the thread name?
  2. Forgot I even owned this lens, the Canon FD 70-210 F4 that I paid $25 for on eBay. I used only once for a little hype edit a few years ago and forgot about it. But its an old school pump zoom which is nice cause you can control focus and zoom with one hand. Might be a good choice for your GH5. This is the edit 2nd video is what made me remember it lol. Thinking about doing a vintage 200mm F3.5/F4 now
  3. My local community college has Canon XA30s for the TV production and OG Black Magic Cinema cameras (Polaroid looking body) for the cinematography students.
  4. eh $6K base means its strictly for the pro/high end production house - crowd. I'll stick with PC, refuse to pay more for less or equal performance.
  5. In my little group of sports videographer friends (theres about a 100 of us that talk with each other - we are all between the ages of 16 - 25 so younger upcoming "new media" crowd) We are split about down the middle with half using the GH5 and the other half doing AXXX line or A7sii/A7iii.
  6. My a6300 was hitting around 12.5 with properly exposed Slog 2
  7. Yeah I shoot sports and occasionally product reviews, I want absolutely nothing to do with super large pro res like file sizes.
  8. The 5d4 is rated around 13 stops for stills iirc, 12 if you use C log 1
  9. Footage does look quite good. I wish we could get a real hollywood DP to review the camera, id take that over any of the click baity YouTubers.
  10. Not running dual card slots is risky af. Run a single slot, have a bunch of corrupted video files and what do you tell the client? "Most pros don't run dual slots" Even if you have the time and money to reshoot, good luck convincing them to hire you again after that.
  11. I believe the C700 is the only Canon doing 14 stops
  12. you cant lol, thats why most pro videographers own rain sleeves. Also why Super 35 camcorders and cinema cameras are usually advertised as rugged and dust sealed but nothing in there states weather sealing. Also unless your camera has an actual IPX rating ITS NOT WEATHER SEALED.
  13. Lol I swear like every thread someone brings up a pitfall about the EOS R and 1 one of the canon trolls comes in and defends it whilst telling ud how it amazing it is for them and their workflow ?

  15. Yes i'm usually always at 120p. Tbh where you setup your camera makes a huge impact. I shoot pro soccer sometimes and cant stand the size of the field. I actually think soccer would be a lot more interesting if they set the field marking to be around 30 or 40 yards shorter and no more than 50 yards wide. There would be more goals per match. Something like a Sigma 150 - 600 would be ideal for soccer but that's besides the point. Don't be afraid to move to get a better shot, If your kid plays forward/striker set your chair on the offensive end, middie? set up to dead middle or slightly to the left or right of the mid field line whether they are an attacking middie or defending middie etc, etc. Most of my reel shots and favorite overall are where i'm physically closer to players. Oh and I saw this paintball edit a few months ago and got hooked, planning on shooting the next local pro tournament. caution: music is explicit af
  16. They look nice af, but i'm not at the point in my career where I need a studio monitor for something like video village.
  17. Yeah this makes things VERY interesting, Sony might have to convert its current line up from 4K to 6K capabilities sooner they than wanted. Also maybe this will make Fuji go back to the drawing board for the XH2. I doubt Canon will have any response to this though... Lets not forget their response to the A7iii was the EOS R
  18. 7D line possibly on its deathbed https://www.canonrumors.com/rest-well-canon-eos-7d-series-cr2/
  19. I think the glass element is really a corrective piece for chromatic aberration. As the B4 lenses were never really intended for use a single cmos sensor but a 3 chip ccd array.
  20. Thats possibly the funniest thing i've ever watched
  21. A camera from Pansonics LEGIT cinema line has received a price reduction. 16.5K down to $10k https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1226386-REG/panasonic_au_v35lt1g_varicam_lt_4k_s35.html Cost to get this puppy full rigged will still put it at $15K + package I imagine.
  22. As someone that basically only shoots sports the only people I see shooting Canon are the photographers, never seen Canon used higher than the high school market for sports broadcasting or sideline video that goes direct to web. Think ive seen a c300mkii used once for behind the scenes web content.
  23. lol when I first looked at the photo I was like "uh wheres the camera" Setup is 98% lens
