@Trek of Joy, I started my post saying "if we want to fantasize and speculate on the post appeared on mirrorlessrumors" all we say is based on our hopes and beliefs, I bet you do not have the NX1 camera right?
Some time ago I read a very smart comment that said this:
"Today the photos are taken with smartphones and Samsung has the best-selling phone in the world, so Samsung is still the world leader in photography."
This reasoning is logical, Samsung has incorporated the photo department with that of smartphones because the photography market had been assimilated by smartphones, they would have been crazy to do otherwise!
All I want to say is that I repeat for the third and last time is this: Samsung produces the sensors, processors, the display and all the electronic components necessary to assemble a camera, the DR color profile allows you to get natural colors and shades of exceptional skin. The codec h265 has the same performance of the ProRes at less than half the space, the firmware has a friendly interface and an intuitive menu (nothing to do with Sony cameras).
The NX1 was a UFO that has anticipated the times too much, as evidenced by the fact that even today is among the best cameras ever built.
Today the time is ripe, the codec h265 no longer has problems with transcoding and is compatible with all video editing programs.
The Samsung NX2, if it will be produced with the technical characteristics listed, will be sold before arriving on the shelves.

If we want to fantasize and speculate on the post appeared on the site mirrorlessrumors, we can say that it is very convincing, Samsung must develop new technologies to be always technologically advanced, even if these products should never go into production.
The construction of a prototype serves to test the capabilities of their products, this has nothing senseless and personally does not surprise me at all.
I agree that the marketing of the photo department of Samsung is totally wrong, communication with customers was very disappointing, but it is also true that the quality / price ratio of the NX1 and NX500 was the best ever, also it is to be appreciated that the Samsung It has never charged extra costs for major firmware updates like the professional DR color profile.
If tomorrow Samsung officially announced that it is building the NX2 I would be the happiest person in the world. I bought the NX1 in 2015, three years to replace a camera is a very reasonable time frame, I would think poor those who buy Sony and Panasonic, not even have time to unpack their new camera that after six months is already old !!
My humble opinion is that Samsung must continue to build cameras to be present in the photographic industry, of course Samsung knows that this involves the need to reorganize the work team, the technical staff must be numerically reduced and the work must be well organized to optimize expenses, Samsung has everything ready to make the leap in quality and move on to the professional video industry.
In conclusion, Samsung produces every type of electronic product, look at home you will certainly have at least three products with Samsung brand, so why close only the photographic department precluding a secure businness, having the necessary professional potential?

I agree.  Everyone applauds Canon for their colors, but my NX1's colors look way more natural and pleasant than my Canon 80D's colors.

Samsung keeps hiring old Japanese engineers, designers and other talented people who are "honourably" fired from Japanese Corporations because the new generation must replace the old.
And this is the result, Samsung is destroying Japanese Corporations, Sony fired a lot of elderly extremely talented people and Korean Corporations fished them in.
Having tried several cameras it seems that Samsung NX1 and NX500 trades high ISO performance for superior extremely high colour reproduction.
So while having very bad ISO performance in general with huge drops when reaching 800 ISO and beyond, the colour reproduction at lower ISO is superior to most cameras I have tested so far, even the Sony big megapixel beasts cannot seem to keep up. The Sammy's do what other CMOS bayer sensors struggle with the most, capturing accurate autumn colours.
Even Sigma SD Quattro with Foveon censor seem to struggle very hard to keep up with Sammy censor.

Hi Kino, In relation to this I think it changes little if the heir of Samsung is in prison.
The data is clear, Samsung's strategy to focus their employees on commercial products and smartphones has proved to be a great success.

I just hope that Samsung (also for a prestigious issue) continues to shoot professional cameras with NX2 release, also because Red has decided to enter smathphone market with Red Hydrogen damaging the Samsung Galaxy market , So I hope that Samsung to discourage Red (which has 100% sales of professional video cameras) is to produce professional cameras and camcorders, for professionals, invading Red's market.
These are just my considerations, but the only certainty I have is that if Samsung comes out of a new professional camera, whoever has a Samsung camera will definitely run to buy it.

Here's scenes from a feature I'm shooting on the NX1.  All using the tracking autofocus.  I hope this camera lasts a LONG time, because even after all these years, its footage and capabilities are gorgeous and unmatched.

Hold your hats ladies and gentlemen, not so fast, the Samsung camera department is not dead yet, with the latest scandals at Samsung there been words that Samsung is once again putting focus on their mirrorless cameras.
And also it was the son of head of Samsung groups that decided to lay off the cameras and move the team to focus on smartphone stuff, it clearly has not worked and one of their wonderful smartphones caught fire, a lot of people do not realise either but Samsung never had a proper camera department until they actually bought Pentax tech and people say that their smartphone department made great strides in sensor technology is simply not true, it was a two way cooperation between the camera department and the smartphone department.
    There still hopes for NX2

Hello everyone, these days I started working in a new project for the construction of an smart adapter, by accident I discovered that the NX1 offers 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi wireless networking connectivity compatible with IEEE 802.11b/g/n, as well as the faster 802.11ac standard which has enough bandwidth to stream 4K video wirelessly over 500Mbit/s.
    Can anyone verify this?

Me too. An EF to NX adapter with AF is a game changer for the NX1.  I was about to pre-order a Sony a6500 with an EF adapter when I saw Luca's video.  Now I'm holding off to give Luca's adapter a shot when it's ready.

I just tested my NX1 using GammaDR, and sharpening at -5.  I shot in UHD, downscaled in Premiere Pro to 1080, and rendered out to a DVD.  The sharpening looks horrible, and very “video”-ish.  The in-camera sharpening is using a contrast-type of sharpening that produces artifacts in a radius around high-contrast objects.  You can confirm this increased contrast on a lumetri-scope.  On the other hand, setting sharpening at -10 produces beautiful results (without any post-sharpening), and none of the artifacts.
