It looks like everyone is saying the same thing. May be the sequel can fill in the gaps. I know how I would do it.... Problem is that I don't think Netflix would want to take a risk on me

In the article, it says that paramount did a couple of test screenings and found it to be too intellectual.... Which explains a lot.... I remember being in a second year psych. course in University back in the early 2000s.... And the professor asked a question, can't remember the actual question or what prompted him to say this.... But I remember it almost on a consistent basis.... He said, "You are technically smarter than 85% of the population." Which made me think... It is true on some respects, you need to get the top grades (85% or more) to get into University.... But, is this true in respects to everybody.... I'm starting to believe it is.... I've been running into a lot of them too, and Im sure some of you guys have too.... Examples: Some cashier that can't do basic math, a barrista that can't get a simple order right. Ever get a time when you specifically say... "No mayo" or something similar and you repeat it a couple of times too, and they say "yes, yes.... No mayo..." And the sandwich comes back with Mayo. Then you look at the sandwich and ask what the hell is this.... And she is looking at you weirdly... This has been happening to me on the regular. And, I generally go when it's not that busy cause you don't want to hurt their pea brains with small requests like this amongst all the other requests. I know.... The above sounds a bit petty, especially if you've never experienced it yet. But, if you experience it on the regular... I, especially, try to avoid confrontation too... I completely try to avoid the dumb peeps... I always say, these people work here for a reason. Going back to this movie, if it's only going to appeal to the top 15 percenters.... Then I too would choose those that know how to subscribe and use Netflix.

I haven't believed in what critics had to say in a very long time. I, generally, look at the overall score of what everyone from regular viewers thought of it and what critics think... If there is an uneven shift, on either side.... I might check it out to see why one side hated it while another side loved it. You have to think that critic's job is to critique.... They have nothing else to do. So, with their vast repository of movies that they have watched... They compare it to stuff like Citizen Kane, Casablanca and the sort... Anything less.... Or not original is a cliché or remake... You can't please these people. I wonder if I filmed dog poo for 90 min., while Morgan Freeman narrates some existential bullshit - it might be universally panned (by critics) as being something truly unique and groundbreaking. As for Bright.... For me.... It has a solid foundation, and there is a lot of anticipation for where it can go in terms of story.... But it just left us a speckle of ice from the tip of the iceberg... Not even the tip of it.... **SPOILERS** I would like to have seen when and where the main orc came from.... His back ground - I mean he is goofy, but he came from a terrible background to become the first Orc Police Officer. What motivated him to do that... Other than the superficial stuff that he says.... What about his tusks.... Never got a clear idea (some visuals would have helped) of why his tusks were sawed down. Now that we know Will Smith is a Bright... What's next? Off to Hogwart's Adult Night School? Now the Dark Lord rising... I really wanted to see this happen... Oh well..? Whatever.

Theoretically... This sounds great. But, in reality, not so great... I know you are probably thinking mft mount or EF mount... But think about AF.... How will that work? Even if they do the interchangeable lens mount route it will be with their DL mount and proprietary lenses.

I watched the entirety of it and only after JJ said to watch it.... And, to be honest, I was highly doubtful in the beginning especially when the artist said something along the lines of hoping/believing what's there less than what could be there.... Made me think that the artist planted the whole thing... It was a back and forth battle thinking that it's real or not real.... "How can there be coral on the statue if it's fake?".. "How can that huge statue be transported on ship?" I figured some of the dates being presented were fake.... To be honest, I totally missed the Mickey statue... Don't watch this if you have kids running around. Only till you guys told me that I had to go back and rewatch it. I found it weird that there was a statue of a rat at the end... But never put 2 and 2 together... Again don't watch it with kids running around. In my opinion, they could have taken this another route... A pirate ship stole most of the items... Some items really show up on eBay. After the credits- Easter egg that it was faked.

Again, with the redesigned inbuilt gimbal - they could go into micro 4/3 territory in next phantom.

For me, it wasn't the cadence but some of the scenes (not all) look over-sharpened that was reminiscent of 30p which is that videoish look... Again, that's how I felt about it and it's only some of the scenes...

Think about using an external recorder.... And record to pro res... And/or record at 400mbps and then transcode to pro res lite

Yeah, I have to agree that too much DOF isn't good for video.... For me... Even when you get it right, it feels like a person is standing in front of a blurred green screen. You either over do it to make it look like a dream sequence or under do it enough for the audience to know the point of focus without distraction. +I agree on the 30p feel of Neumann Films work.

Agreed. Like a magnifying glass... I don't know how it will affect the sensor in the long run though - as you said like burning paper. So no DOF difference? When adding a speedbooster it only gives you additional FOV and ISO, no DOF change?

I have to agree on this one... Put it another way... By adding a speedbooster it’s not increasing the diameter of the barrel of the lens... so whatever light the barrel of the lens is letting through is what’s coming to the sensor or speedbooster (and the speed booster doesn't add more light unless there is some sort of light built into it)

Can you at least do Prolost Flat then?

Can you also use EOSHD C-log or something similar and do a comparison with VLog and/or HLG - before and after grading.... side by side would be nice too. Thanks in advance.

See... I said this over at CR and nobody disputed it, and I will say it here again. I don't think that Canon knew how to put 4K in the 80D, nor did they know how to put in the 6D mark 2 and nor will they know when they put out the 90D... And, we can say that they are protecting their higher end models and/or the cinema eos brand.... but I think its the pesky MJPEG that they keep using. How do you fit 500 mbps (4K/24p) and/or 800 mbps (4K/60p) into their SD interface? Sure Panasonic did it, but I'm sure that Canon is using older SD interfaces... perhaps because they bought them in bulk on the cheap... and they are trying to get rid of them as much as possible.... Remember when they kept using the 18MP APS-C Sensors from the original 7D to the SL1 (it was also used in the 60D, t2i, t3i, t4i and t5i - and a bunch of other rebel xt models).

Well, technically Gh5 already does 6K anamorphic.... so really we would be looking for 8K anamorphic in the next gen.... BUT, can you really compress 32+ MP into a micro4/3 sensor? Hopefully, they can move to an S35 sensor, may be slightly smaller like the Canon APS-C 1.6 crop to accomodate the mft mount. And, if they go to 8K anamorphic, then 6K up to 60p and 4K 120fps (may be higher? 180fps or 240fps). 14 bit or I will settle for 12 bit 4:4:4 Dare to dream guys.... dare to dream... and always dream BIG. The sky is not the limit for me, shoot for the moon and if I hit a satellite - its still above the sky right?

Speaking of OLED TVs:

HDR vs Resolution vs Brightness. I believe that they are different and separate from each other. Does it affect each other? Almost like asking “Does the world continue to move when I have my eyes closed?” Or “When a tree falls down in a forest does it make a sound if no one is there to hear it?”

They have plenty of competition in the drone market... unfortunately... I wish I knew their names... in any case... if you really want to know just do a simple google search and if you don’t think that that is any kind of competitive products, go check a local bestbuy and you will see at least 3 other drones with 4K cams from their respective competitors... BUT... I get where you are going with this... as a company that’s this fresh... less than a decade old... if you want to be a premium brand that sells premium products at a premium price (you have to admit their drones are expensive)... then you have to offer products that the others aren’t and you have to churn them out fast too so you can blow away the competition... I give it another 5 to 10 years before they slow down and have longer product cycles. Or... they can also be going the route that GoPro went down - towards the end I think they are selling the company to whoever wants it.

??? The camera on the P4P has an one inch sensor and isn't that much bigger (both the camera and the drone)... May be the Air is too small for that camera, but the regular Mavic Pro... should be able to carry the camera thats on the P4P. Look, if Autel Robotics is about to release one... UHD @ 100mbps, 32MP Panoramic pictures. $799USD So.... its smaller... in my honest opinion, I was hoping that they were announcing the Mavic 2 with 1 inch sensor and more. Don't get me wrong, there are welcomed additions like mentioned above (100mbps, 32 MP pictures, etc), but not enough? Anyway, I think the price is still a bit steep... but its fresh.... so by Christmas time this year... may be $499? Who is interested in this thing?
