Ricardo is always posting such gorgeous framegrabs in this thread, so I wanted to give his settings a try for myself on my latest project... I'm really liking the way these are looking. (Graded with DeLuts and filmconvert)

Well shoot fellows... if the couple of us that ordered stuff from Pixapro had waited just a few days longer we would have gotten a lot better deal! The pound is tanking right now after the Brexit vote. So it's probably a good time to buy if anyone's still on the fence.

It seems like it's a bit bottom heavy since it always wants to roll back to center. I'd move the body up slightly, which may make the tilt a bit off. Sometimes you'll just have the mind the best comprise and let the motors do the rest.

For what it's worth, I made this on the ronin-m with no lens mount and an unbalanced camera. It was my first shoot and I didn't have a chance to read on balancing.  It still performed pretty well.

C mounts won't focus to infinity on the nx500... I know... I tried.  They are cool macro lenses on it though.
I don't think there's a list on here for micro 4/3... Other than the c mount list for the BMPCC. Might be a good place to start. Or try Flickr.

The $20 fujian 35mm f1.7 covers APS-C so that might be a good and cheap start.

Who said anything about being the same? He just asked for advice on green screen keying. It's very effective on the GH4.
    You've either:
    A. Never used a GH4 with green screen which makes you're advice useless.
    B. Used a GH4 on green screen and had bad results, which is I hate to say it, operator error. No reason to take that frustration out on others trying to help.

I'm in Florida. Weird the price is up to $406.  Go to: https://www.essentialphoto.co.uk/product/pixapro-led100d-mkii-daylight-balanced-led-studio-light/
Add it to your cart. Use LM5OFFD for 5% off (from UglyMcGregor youtube.com/watch?v=jbPTPFDsrU0). Keep going through to have the VAT removed and add the shipping.
    Unless I'm doing something wrong...

As cool as it would be to be able to use some of my canon glass for stills and such, the only thing I really care about is rudimentary aperture control. I wouldn't really care at all if autofocus was lousy/unreliable, I just want some form of electronic communication between body and lens and I would be very happy!

Hey guys check this out! Apparently UHD 60p is now possible!!! 1D(N)x-ii in all of our pockets.

I really hope this is legit. I downloaded the clip and threw it into premiere just to see, and it does appear to be a true 3840x2160 file playing back at 60p. This is huge.

Parker got a reaction from vaga in Where can I get a New NX1?
Yeah the NX500 is a great little B camera, especially good for stills and timelapses now that the hack has enabled silent shutter, which almost acts kind of like a pseudo-ibis in a way as well, since there is never any shutter shock, shutter speeds can be set lower than usual and still get sharp photos.
The 4k crop is pretty annoying though, but can also be pretty convenient. A tiny, stabilized lens like the 16-50pz can be pretty versatile switching between 1080 and 4k to take advantage of the crop. Something to be aware of also is that there is no UHD 24p, you have to go up to the DCI 4k for 24p which makes it slightly annoying matching with the NX1.

Yeah I put it in a 24p timeline and it slowed down just like it should, then I changed it to 1080 and the 4k scaled just like it should, it's kind of hard to judge based on the video but once I get home I'm going to do my own testing.

I guess this is sort of an aside from the discussion on ultra-wides, but the Rokinon 85mm T1.5 cine lens is one of my favorite pieces of glass. It's got a fairly low-contrast, very creamy rendering of things, definitely gives a dreamy look. Sometimes it makes it harder to cut between the more modern, contasty look of something like the sigma 18-35, but I often prefer it! Just very different. The 85 pretty much lives on my camera during weddings. Rokis are sweet!

Not sure which NLE you use, but for a mobile-friendly setup, Premiere's next update is supposed to greatly improve the way the software handles proxy editing, especially on less-powerful, more portable setups, which could definitely be useful for you:

I would rather not take sides. I support what both of you are working on and at this point they are quite different mods that appeal to different peoples needs. Vasile is working on a lean and clean mod with only a few features(right now its just bit-rate) and Kinoseed is working on squeezing as much as possible out of these two amazing cameras (witch to date has been amazing what he has been able to get out of them).
Having said that It doesn't really matter what bill gates stole from Steve jobs or what Steve stole from bill gates they both have two different products for two different demographics. Besides I would hope that if someone comes up with a better way of doing something or something super useful the other would use it as well. You guys are both publishing as open source don't forget.
Full disclosure, All I really care about at this time is the bit-rate hack so I am leaning towards vasile's stripped down mod at this point in time but I really like what kinoseed is doing as well. As stated above my preference would be a world were everyone could get along and work together to exchanging ideas, even if they are working on separate projects/mods. unfortunately I know that is not really the world we live in  .

Yeah I agree, the Roki 12mm f2 is awesome, and for me, it's the obvious choice for an ultra-wide on NX cameras. It's very small and lightweight, and of course it's f2! I used to own the 10-18mm, loved it, but had to sell it for the same reasons as Ricardo, as sadly it's just unusable with fly-by-wire adapted. I also briefly owned the sigma 10-20mm, which I bought to replace the canon, it was fine, but too slow for my needs. The rokinon 12mm f2 is both very sharp and very fast! Awesome for steadicam stuff (including low light) and astrophotography as well. For me the extra stop was more useful than the zoom and 1 millimeter more width of the tokina 11-16 (the rokinon is also cheaper.)

If all you care about is the widest glass you can possibly get, there is also the Sigma 8-16mm, which I believe is the widest rectilinear glass ever made for crop cameras. I've never used it, but it's fairly pricey and I have heard it's not the sharpest lens. You never know though!
