  1. Nooooooo, you guys are all totally nuts! This thread has become pretty silly by now, just like me.
  2. Panasonic didnt announce anything. Please close thread!
  3. @deezid didn´t watch the whole thing yet. but at 5.45 min is my favorite part "that supernatural favour" What´s P4P? Edit: watched almost to the end. Very nice to watch apart from the professional camera work it has a nice structure to it to center everyting around the ceremony rahter than having the usual kindo of wedding collage. I would have liked to see it start earlier with the foley real time sound, f.i. the violine player and the choir. Anyhow, great video.
  4. Lookin good. Proves another time that GH5 can be combined with an Alexa:) Lighting and blocking is really cool. Just the two lads are not quiet as cool as the Rolling Stones or White Stripes or Danko Jones or Lemmy of course Sorry, had to put this up as juxtaposition, Hallo @maxotics Anyhow, impressive what you achieved in such a small time frame. The result is stellar looking.
  5. better at what? ultra low light, well that is nothing Godfather or other Bmovies were shot at. Not even the King of Darkness, Gordon Willis shot at ultra low light. Panasonic is not late at all. All their video orientated DSLMs have been top notch. GH5 will show less artefacts in low light but more noise. Which of the two looks more "filmic"? I say, noise over artefacts any time.
  6. @maxotics, Hey, awesome post! External recorder will help, as that XAVC is highly compressed. It´s not the 8bit part but the compression showing banding.
  7. Hey Matthias, my impression from Flickr would be that Merrill line, predecessor of Quattro line, has even better color up to 200 ISO. Quattro to me in 100% shows obvious dithering, maybe due to RAW processor software in use, which I wouldnt know from looking at the images of course.
  8. @webrunner5, Great writeup. An awesome read. I remember, when SVHS C was an entry into making cinema like interlaced images possible for nonprofessionals. Well, what we thought would be cinema like:) It´s a shame that a restarted into video with digital only two years ago. All this fun with fascinating tech I´ve been missing out on all those years. Do you remember the videotoaster from Newtech? I cam around one years ago in a TV station, built around an Amiga 4000. Kinda sad to see a fxxin ifon having zillion times more performance power than the hottest gfx computer money could back then buy. But so must have felt a lot of people when an electronic pocket calculator from the 80ies had more calculating power than computers from the early days, which were built with tubes and as large as a shopping mall:)

    you bet, bro! heck yes!
  10. Now the 200mpbs Intra for HD would be very worthwhile!:)
  11. @Cas1, color has greatly improved, GX and G85 cameras offer great colors already. GH5 has great color as example above and others show. But it´s always easy to screw color up:)
  12. I was hoping for footage of yours with Olympus glass. But what is this, looks like an ad for a photoshop alternative:) I was thinking at first, what, kidz is posting in the shooting section and hardly anybody is finding your awesome stuff here. Why not post it in the main section? What I found is a surprise then:) My only mft oly lens is the classy and cheap 45mm 1.8. Great AF photolens, must have for m43 photolover.

@Matt Kieley, nice, I really like what you get out of these Sony DSLMs. I like the color palette as your honor the Sony color and don´t try to fight against it to look like Alexa:) I was thinking BMPCC. What is your recipe or color profile? I think what works well that hues are towards one direction rather than trying to have a strong color contrast. Chicken color give the main impulse for color palette.

@kidzrevil, for your A6500. You are so posh, baby! Now show me some magic! Edit: my apologies to all of you. I meant, of course: Now show US some magic, please:)
  15. Version 2.2.2 jonpais mode- beautiful lens simulation modes with just the kitlens:) I think he has not let go the pleasure of posting on eoshd under another anonymous alias. Oh, and thanks for providing some reading pleasure. Edit: Ebrahim is providing some funky statements on dpreview, I must say. A7riii as no1 and a6500 as no2, sl2 no3, funky! some unknown people have been offering even more expensive stuff. Always seems kinda odd to me when super new people are offering stuff for sale.
  16. Guys, I wrote a few days ago, full VLOG curve. I am sure. Best colors yet in the realm of EOSHD cameras.
  17. Hey John, AVCHD has 50i to 25p and 24mpbs, MP4 has 25p and 20mpbs. So first one has higher bitrate and second one higher resolution, if I figured that right. I would go with the true 1080p and MP4, as it has 20mpbs for twice the resolution in the y axis than the AVCHD 1080i is providing.
  18. Hey, CFL can look pretty gruesome.. Sometimes it can be very nice to have a bit of illumination in the background as well. So if practicals at hand and if logical, they can be used to nice effect. I would suggest tungsten light for being cheap and reliable. Bounce it off a bedsheet f.i. to soften it to your likeing. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DIMMER-BUILT-IN-VIDEO-STUDIO-CONTINUOUS-RED-HEAD-LIGHT-800W-LIGHTING-TUNGST-RHK/281927016626?epid=687099510&hash=item41a428e0b2:g:fF0AAOSwnLdWs1PQ Here is a nice guide for a quick setup utilizing indirect bounced light and ambient background light. It´s can come very handy and with appealing effect for an interview to have a light falloff from you subject to the background. Maybe some other people can chim in to comment on the CFL part of things. this one is very fun and quick to watch with some basic principles one can utilize:
  19. Number 1 legit German camera tech sit slashcam tested the EVA1 throughout. They call it the possibly best sub 10000 camera available and a hit to come. For the people wondering about 8 and 10 bit difference of c200 and EVA1 codec, here is a comparison of a shot they pushed 5 stops in post: https://www.slashcam.de/images/texte/1637-CanonC2008Bit5stopsUNder-CanonC2008Bit5stopsUNder.jpg https://www.slashcam.de/images/texte/1637-EVA10Bit_5stopsunder-EVA10Bit_5stopsunder.jpg https://www.slashcam.de/images/texte/1637-C200_12Bi5stopstUnder-C200_12Bi5stopstUnder.jpg Canon 8bit with 148mbit, EVA 10 bit with 150mbit, Canon Rawlite with 1000mbit.
  20. So would that be 12fps raw until card is full? Would work with electronic shutter as well, right?
  21. That is a good point. I have not found any true to the term shorfilm done with this wonderful XT2 on the web. Neither with cameras like the G7, GX85, G85, GH5 barely. I would love to see a Fuiji color shortfilm some time. But won´t happen soon, I´m sure.

Now these beauties would be a nice sight. Please don´t ever sell them:) What Cmount adapter do you recommend for the Fujinon 12.5mm? I bought one this summer laying around, because of lack of adapter. Would be like a 28 on m43, kinda an interesting fov:) But sure, for the wide end it would have to be something else, like mercers Fujinon 12.5.

@mercer, pocket some batteries with the pocket, bring your backpack with the RX10:) no swiss army knife out there, at least not pocket size. Btw, the 20mm is not just a pancake but some of the sharpest m43 lenses around, close to the 25mm 1.4. TStop is awesome, between 1.6 and 1.7. Would love to have that lens in a housing of a mechanical lens. Like inazuma said, focussing is no fun at all.
  24. Glenn, no I have not. I graded some BMPCC Prores. Worked fine. A S16 Blackmagic camera in a nice and practical formfactor with EVF, around GH5 price, Isn´t that something we all would love to see?:) Heck, a XC15 with cmount IBIS and 10bit. @IronFilm I will check that. Well, guys, thanks for your contributions and ideas!
  25. Where have you been watching it? Vimeo on demand? These 3ccd HD cameras are more expensive than a Sony F3, I said that before in anstonishment. There is someting exiting in having a camera with 3ccds larger than the ones in the EX1 with a 422 codec, even available in 10bit AVC Intra flavor. Just something from the guts. Also having a real shoulder cam with these stats is appealing. Just a yummy package. That deal on adorama is tempting though:) This is another documentary about Bmovie filmmaking, about the lengendary Roger Corman, with legends like Jack Nicholson, Ron Howard, Julie Corman and the likes, a whole bunch of very delightful people. Jack Nicholson is especially charming.
