Okay so why the stolen footage on his reel?

Questions:
1. Do Saadawi senior and junior share the exact same name?  How else did this "scammer" take out the money from western union if it requires an ID?
2.  Older people, at least in Western culture, never boast about how much money they make.  Especially not a radiologist.  This leads me to believe it's not Senior who wrote that email.
3.  Does anyone know Saadawi in real life?
4.  Can we verify his information - that he works at that university?
5.  When you get a PM on EOSHD, doesn't it go straight to your email?  Unless someone disabled this.
6.  How many people have access to his gear closet?
7.  In the facebook enchange, he says he has a law background.  Probably lying.
Timotheus, if you don't get your money back in 5 days and if there is no further attempt to get your money back, I will personally look into this more.  Maybe hire a private investigator.
BUT IN all honesty, file a police report where you are, and in Egypt.  
It's a scam worth $2000.
His selling reputation globally is now compromised.  And soon maybe the university is going to start to find out

This to me is reason alone to Close their account or Ban both of the Saadawi's. I've never understood why they share an account & you never know who is actually posting - it's free to join after all, so why?
I know people steal other people's work & pass it off as their own, but when it happens between 2 people on the same forum it is certainly time for the Moderators to act.
As far as the scam goes, I don't think we'll ever get to the real truth of the matter, but I hope people have learnt a valuable leason - PayPal or nothing.
If a refund occurs, then all well & good.
However, it really is time that these 2 people uncouple & present themselves as 2 distinct individuals.

Im not a rich man but if I ever get scammed by someone like that, I would VERY happily spend the $1000 or whatever to fly there and find the guy and scare him VERY well.
That is not a threat, it is a promise. Scare/beat the shit out of/take every dollar he has and then enjoy my holiday.
We had a recent Tax scam here where I was called by 'the taxation dept' saying there was a warrant out for my arrest for tax evasion. This happened just after I had made some purchases and perhaps the sellers did not declare the full value on customs forms (naughty sellers!) At first my heart sunk. I thought it was legit. My wife googled around a bit and discovered it was a new scam. They leave you a phone number to call to sort out payment (to avoid further legal action of course) so I called and pretended I was really sorry and wanted to make it right and can I come in to their office with a cheque right away.
Geez I wish he gave me an address...
Not too many instances when I believe in violence but if you steal from me I will hurt you and take everything you have and leave you crying on the floor naked.

I love this place as I find inspiration and positive energy here, so I don't like posting something negative, but I feel you need to be warned.
A month ago I paid @Ebrahim Saadawi for a SLR Magic Rangefinder he offered for sale both on this site and on dvxuser. He had previously done an extensive review of the Rangefinder, also posted on the EosHD forum. I assumed he was selling this unit; he told me he had no use for it and no interested buyers in Egypt. As he claimed there were no other payment options in Egypt than Western Union money transfer and knowing his excellent track record on the forum, I decided to give it a go. Yeah, really stupid me I guess.
He went totally silent after my payment confirmation on June 17th. I sent four update requests since then through the forum's message service, which he all read (the site shows you this). Also messages through Instagram and email. Still no reply. Being certain (and baffled) that I was scammed I was considering what to do. Then I read @Tito Ferradans cautionary tale in Facebook's anamorphic shooters group of a LOMO scam he barely escaped (he also posted that on this site). On Facebook, another group member, Tomas, mentioned he also bought a Rangefinder from Egypt. Same seller, same story.
So we have the second highest rated EosHD account ever (second only to Andrew himself) through which at least two people have been scammed. Now here is the catch: the account of Ebrahim is used by two people. Ebrahim senior, and his grandson Ebrahim junior (the profile signature also mentions this). The other buyer did get in contact with the seller, which turned out to be Ebrahim junior.
It looks like Senior has build quite the reputation with posts I myself have also greatly enjoyed and learnt from. Junior pisses all over it now with this crap. We'll see if this post helps him reconsider, at any rate, other forum members may be prevented of becoming 'fools' (as Junior so sympathetically described me).
 

I think the op needs to now reach him again and point him to this thread. He has 7 days to reply before I go medieval on him.

Lives in Mansoura, Egypt
His dad seems to be a radiologist (physician)
Makes sense, the younger one couldn't cut it in med school, so goes to dentist school.
I think using this info and geotagging facial recognition software with all his photos you can find his friends and then find him.
He doesn't work professionally in film, so he has no reputation to keep there.
 
So all you can do is embarass him at his school and his dental practice if he has one and then shame him with his father and his business and probably find the whole family.
I'm probably guessing his dad doesn't know this is giong on, so reach out to the dad on nofilmschool and find other ways to contact the dad.

But anyway, you can ruin his reputation and really embarass the shit out of him with his dad.  Who will probably give him a good spanking.

I've loved everything I've seen from the X-Pro2. I think Andrew was spot on with his review. The colors are outstanding.
I also feel that the general opinion that the X-Pro2 had a low DR is rather false. Play with the files and you will be amazed at all the info that lurks in the shadows.
What kept me from it where three things. 1. Already have two Leica M Rangefinder's. 2. A tad much Moire. 3. I knew the X-T2 was coming.
I'm not much for preorders but I might book this baby today.
 

Ok, a review unit dropped in my mail today. But first let me say this:
I know diddely squat about gimbals. I really don't pay any attention to them. In my work world a gimbal shot is like a drone shot or under water, in other words, something special that you use for a purpose and then you rent or borrow the gear + crew that are good at it.
In my hobby and youtube world Im far to in love with proper camera shakes that I dont want to get rid of them.
Of my +200 youtube clips 0 are done with a gimbal and maybe 2 clips in total have stabilization in post.
Moving on.
With that little disclaimer out of the way, I will know share my experience with this thing and be as honest as I can.
And also do the best I can to give it an honest chance and learn how to use it. Even though I, at this time, dont feel any need to have one of these.
Would be even more fun then if I turn out to really like using it.
And YOU can contribute with questions that you want me to find out and that can be used in a review, since I dont really know what people want to know.
First Impression

It comes in a normal box, all the specs and such is written in english. So is the manual.
Rather surprising is the nice and sturdy "pellicase" that all the stuff is well secured and foamed in.


I have roll of T-Max in a stand develop so I might not be able to do more than look at it today. Also my BMPCC isn't here today and I think my GM1 is to light.
The general feel is that its well made. It feels sturdy, all the joints are smooth, mostly metal and the plastic also feels nice.

First with three 32-bit MCUs running parallel at 4k hertz, "The number is far beyond reach of any other gimbal" (sounds pretty cool I guess, a bit nerdy but cool  )
Lastly some other long paragraph about degrees ad milliseconds... sounds swell.
Thats it, need to rinse my film. Will update as soon as I have it running and maybe a test shot.

That's a pretty good sensor improvement... I know some Sony/Nikon guys will have a little chuckle, but regardless, 13.5 stops is a beautiful range to work with and Canon tend to have a nice DR range across the ISOs.
Let's hope Canon release a 1DC ii that can record the full tonal range, or that the 5D iv has a similar sensor and gets a little ML lovin! Imagine that sensor with raw video.

I traded in my GH4+Odyssey combo for a Blackmagic Micro and couldn't be happier. My days of wrestling with a camera to do what I want are behind me.

Looks like ursa or blackmagic 4k 400 underexposed...

Isn't film and music so very middle-class these days?

Easy choice. I did it already and bought 1DX mark II. 
I use Technicolor Cinestyle profile in the 1DX2 and it works just fine. Check my other post about those.

Well, it looks like the Arri Alexa 65 has some competition.
Panavision have revealed a RED-Weapon-like cinema camera which shoots 8K from a full frame 41 x 21 sensor, to r3d RAW format.

Never tried FireMonkey, but nice to experience the difference. For me was hardest way to find a procedure for fast read out of screenshot data in OSX. All typical examples only work with older OSX versions. Finally I found a way to just get master monitor readout. Would be happy to find a way for doing 2nd monitor readout as well.
