LimitBreak got a reaction from sanveer in Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 brings 10 bit Rec 2020 UHD 60 FPS 4K video recording to smartphones
Amazing how more advanced your smart phone will be compared to your DSLR !
The processor will probably be in Samsung's S9 early next year. Other manufactures will showcase it at CES in January.

LimitBreak got a reaction from Geoff CB in Magix Sony VEGAS Pro 14 to have native Prores support & cost $199 only
So I just found out that Magix acquired sony Vegas Pro with the whole Sony Creative Suite, and just announced a new version that will launch in September.
But what they seem to highlight as the newest feature beside a redesign along with 4k and HEVC Hardware Acceleration support, is the native ProRes capabilities and support. So will this be the go to Prores editing software for Windows users ?
They also lowered the price from $600 to $200 and are giving Vegas Pro 14 for free if you purchase the 13 !!
Thoughts ?

LimitBreak got a reaction from IronFilm in Magix Sony VEGAS Pro 14 to have native Prores support & cost $199 only
Someone should review the new version when it comes out, then compare encoding with OpenCl and Nvidia Cuda on different new graphic cards like the RX480 and the 1070 or 1080.

LimitBreak got a reaction from duffman in Sony a6300 4k
It is weather sealed !! and the lcd screen movements are good enough. The lenses have stabilization, depending on which you buy. The biggest downside is removing the touch autofocus which was on the a5100

LimitBreak got a reaction from IronFilm in iPhone 6S beats D750 for video
They need to have another phone like panasonic CM1 but with much better BSI 1" sensor, F1.4 retractable pancake zoom lens with IS, built in ND filter, newer processor like the snapdragon 820 or much faster one, 4K 60 fps, 128 GB storage and expandable with Micro SD U3! and manual controls.
Also price $650 or lower!

LimitBreak got a reaction from Jimmy in DJI Zenmuse X5 for Inspire 1, M43 Sensor, 4K RAW Video
They are announcing two different models, the more expensive X5R model has some crazy 1.7 Gbps video bitrate with a max of 2.4 Gbps Bitrate, also records in D-Log mode lossless CinemaDNG Raw on a 512GB SSD option.
These specs almost make high end DSLRs and Mirrorless cameras a joke for video production, specs wise.
So they are not going to sell it solo ?
The R model seems to have a Gimbal and a mount as well beside the extra features and the SSD
Resolutions:
4096x2160(23.98p),
3840x2160(29.97/23.98p),
2704x1520(30/25P),
1920x1080(59.94/29.97p)

LimitBreak got a reaction from duffman in Canon announces development of 8K Cinema EOS camera and 120MP DSLR

LimitBreak got a reaction from sunyata in Canon's new $30,000 video camera does only 1080p
The ME20F-SH is a low light capable video camera with photosites sized to 19 microns on it's 2.26 MP full-frame 35mm CMOS sensor to deliver an ISO equivalent of more than 4 million. The suggested retail price is $30,000
I guess the A7s just got a little competition lol, will see how the cheaper A7sII will stack up in the Iso capabilities and real world low light performance.

LimitBreak got a reaction from Mat Mayer in New laptop
The U is too weak for encoding, the 4770HQ is much better
If you want a heavy duty laptop for fast encoding get the newest Xeon mobile processor that was just announced

LimitBreak got a reaction from Santiago de la Rosa in computer upgrade-davinci
I'd either get the skylake i7 6700K cpu with h.265 hardware encoding support, or i7 5820K 6 cores haswell E processor for the best bang to performance.
Get 2 SSD drives (makes a huge difference) Samsung 850 pro and evo, also cheap 2 TB 7200 RPM HD for storage.
16GB ram or more is good
Open CL is bringing faster results with some people, as of now it is getting more support and I'd look into the Radeon R9 390x, or if you require Nvidia skip the latest generation, it doesn't seem to bring any faster encoding and it is still not supported natively by many NLE programs, so research it!
Get at least a 750 Watts PSU 80+ Silver, power is neglected by many and causes problems especially with power hungry GPUs while encoding !
If you have a microcenter near you, they usually have bundle deals on the CPU + motherboard.
Check Slickdeals for the cheapest prices on SSDs and GPUs
also research pcpartpicker

LimitBreak got a reaction from sanveer in Canon's new $30,000 video camera does only 1080p
Will the sensor is only 2 mp resulting in bigger pixels/photosites , while the A7S is 12 mp, so if Sony were to make the A7sII 8 MP for 4K capability with BSI and other enhancements it can probably reach above 1 million + ISO.
And without real world results and how much noise it generates, how much DR it retains, etc.. we can not tell.

LimitBreak got a reaction from vaga in NX1 H.265 (HEVC) editing without transcoding
Depends on how powerful is your hardware, and also if future software updates will support it !
Hardware decoding just makes it possible with most compatible software and faster.

LimitBreak got a reaction from Julian in Sony has gone internal-4K crazy: A7RII, RX1004, RX10II
DPreview says 4K at XAVC S format, so must be internal!

LimitBreak got a reaction from Julian in Sony has gone internal-4K crazy: A7RII, RX1004, RX10II
WOW WOW WOW, this will slaughter the competition;
BSI FF sensor
5 Axis Stabilization
4K
Higher ISO
Higher MP
Better focus tracking
Higher DR I'd assume
