Some cinema cameras, like the Bolex, Blackmagic, and Alexa, have only one native ISO. They use digital gain to "push" that data and produce brighter results for higher ISO values, but the RAW data never changes. It always captures at its native ISO on the sensor level.

Some cameras, like all DSLRs/DSLMs, Canon's Cinema line, and the Panasonic Varicam 35, have more than one native ISO. They use analog gain on the sensor level to change the way the sensor actually "sees" photons, resulting in better dynamic range and noise characteristics at higher sensitivities.

    Hope that clarifies things.

Even with a 16stops camera, shitty light will always look shitty.

"- The durability under various conditions
-The materials used in the built"
These two I find are often mentmentioned in the prosumer to pro segment as well as if its one of the main features of the camera.

Hey man. I see alot of good advice here but I wanted to throw something out that worked for me for awhile. If your budget is $2500 or so get 2 cameras that check off all of your needs. G7 for convenience, long battery life, ease of use, 4k recording, etc. Blackmagic pocket camera for when you need top notch image quality with 10 bit ProRes or RAW. I believe with those 2 cameras you'd have all of your bases covered. Those 2 cameras plus a speedbooster would hit around $2500.

One could argue that people found the super cheap gm1 the best since it scored similar to the bmpcc and beat it in the detailed shot.
But I agree,  blackmagic is good stuff.

Ha ha, no. It's a bit much as it would be a b-cam. But if the right project surfaces it might change.

Dude, you bumped this thread just to show you didn't care for what a guy did on the Internet? That's hilarious, you are the most attention seeking a-hole there ever was. This whole post is stupid and I am now dumber for reading it.
Now someone can write the same to me

Did a test at home just to get a reference and thought I share the results.
    Cameras: BMPCC, D16
Mics: Electro Voice 635A, Sennheiser MKE600, Zoom H1
The BMPCC needs lots of gain in post as expected, the D16 does not.

Got this tiny but solid Pentax C-mount today. Think it might be a bit of an underrated gem. Mainly for its close infinity.

Imo Global Shutter is the key. Then you can move the camera freely and it all looks good instead of weird.
No need for IS or IBIS.
I will never buy an A-cam without it again. Took me one day with the bmpc to make that decision

I've had both the A7 and the FS100. If having to choose one of them today I would let size be the factor. Do I want a small camera or a fully featured one.
Here is a shootout I did but I have reviewed the A7 as well.

I'm clearing out some gear to make room for new.
Selling a BMPCC with 7 batteries as well as three Zeiss Jena Primes.

    The 10mm f2.0 that's a little stiff but usable.
    The 16mm f1.8 that's instead a bit loose.
The 25mm f1.4 that has a dust spot inside that does not show up in footage.
All three is fitted with Tevidon to C-mount adapters for infinity focus on m4/3.
Also I have a Bmpcc which is in great shape apart from the common jumpy HDMI.
If gently pushed it delivers image to my EVF so one could probably lock it in a cage.
(I have a video showcasing if interested)
    Lenses: $550 + Shipping
    Camera: $500 + Shipping
The Lot: $1000 + Free Shipping
I also have a really nice Zacuto Top Handle with extra rod clamp, perfect for a mic. It also includes a Z-Rail for mounting it on pretty much any cage.  Price: $50

So you turn the IBIS of, simple.
And again, what camera in the world doesn't get jello in that example besides a non stabilized camera with global shutter? :)

The IBIS in the E-M5 I had was way better than the stabilization in any lens or camcorder I've ever come across.
So imo IS isn't better than IBIS,  it's just that Sony didn't implement it that well.

m4/3 on s35 is a genius idea. Its been requested by Blackmagic users for years and now when JVC has released it I think a lot of people see the potential.
Having s35, m4/3, s16 all in one camera.
