    It works absolutely fine on the A7S. I have tested it. If you find the results too magenta just dial Colour Phase to your taste in the picture profile.
    They do not. The Colour Depth settings when adjusted don't change the image with S-Gamut selected on the A6300 / A6500.
    It doesn't matter though as the update fixes it and the new settings give the same image and performance as EOSHD Pro Color on the A7S II.
    My A6500 is running firmware v1.0 and my A6300 the same.
    Unless Sony have issued a firmware fix which changes the behaviour, you need to use the updated settings instead.
    I also tried the A99 II and same thing. Maybe Sony wanted to lock S-Gamut and not allow changes.
    Saturation does go up and down, just not the Colour Depth for each channel.
    Saturation on the FS5 however is locked, so again on that camera you need to use the updated settings.

    The email with updated settings is on its way today.
    The update only applies to users of the A6300,A6500,A99 II and FS5. The update optimises saturation and colour depth on these cameras.
    As the update is only for the cameras listed above, A7S II shooters for example do not need to change any settings.

    People tend to forget that around 6300k or cloudy is very often dial as a WB in the industry to get some of those warm tone back in the skin tone or for a sunset/sunrise. On a sony camera 8 bit 4:2:0 cam it should pretty much always be used when skin tones are part of the scene.
    Same as 4900k if you want a colder look. The canon standard profile would look a bit more neutral dialed down a bit, the first one seems to be shot under a cuban sun to my eyes.

    That goes without saying for everything, always test new stuff before a shoot.
    There are some bugs in Sony's colour handling. The different behaviour of colour depth from A7S II to A6300 shouldn't be happening.
    I have made a second profile with a wider sweet spot, it delivers closer results across the different cameras, and you will all be getting it for free if you bought the original.
    I am also working on something else completely new and an A6500 review.
    I am now mega happy with Sony's colour after all this work.
    I might sell my 1D X Mark II.

    The problem is that we are getting lots of superficial reviews from pretty untalented image makers working far too fast with equipment they don't master in non-professional situations, all, apparently, desperately trying to get views.

    Honestly I almost left the shots untouched. Some I didn't touch at all such as the 2.7 linear shots. No noise reduction, no sharpening, didn't do any external color correction!
    With a modified 3x zoom lens on a hero 4 on Karma you see how the stabilization is:

    I've been doing some work recently that requires very accurate colors, so I wasted a few hours cycling through all of the setting in my NX1 and a Xrite Color Checker Passport. I tested all Gamma Control (color, saturation, sharpness, contrast, hue), Picture Wizard Options, Black Level, and Luminance Levels. These were tested in Daylight, Under 90+ CRI LED lights, in ISO 100-800. Fortunately the same settings worked best across ISOs and color temps.

    My approach to testing was to record a clip with each variation of setting with the same white balance (using the gray card of the color checker) and then use the Color Match option in Resolve (Source Gamma sRGB, Target Gamma Rec.709, Target Color Space Rec.709, Color Temp 6500, White Level 0.9 Checked) then total the variation in percentage of color accuracy. One weird discovery was that sharpness at 0 had worse color accuracy than at -10 sharpness in Gamma Control settings.

    These are the settings I was able to achieve the most accurate colors with:
    Luminance Level 0-255
    Master Black Level -5
    Gamma DR {
    Color - 1.00Red, 0.95 Green, 1.00 Blue
    Saturation: -3
    Sharpness: -10
    Contrast: -3
    Hue: 0}

    This does result in a overall flat look that I would then grade or apply a Rec.709 LUT to.

    There is a difference: first. At 0:27, the RX100 IV wobbles like a jelly fish and the RX100 V does not. Second, look at this comparison I have made:

    @Inazuma I haven't try the Fuji, but they have lots of experience with lenses and I'm sure the quality is extraordinary. I'm not worry about the weight coming from FF but performance in the Olympus has to be great even wide open. I know one thing for sure, They've learn how to tweak the settings for the testers. I saw this posted three hours ago

    Very likely to be fabricated spec, CMOS sensors only benefit from BSI when the individual photosite gets really small, think A7R II/RX100 V, a 15MP FF sensor won't gain anything at all from using BSI design, the photosite area is already big enough for high quantum efficiency.

    Thanks Sony, for coming out with this before I purchased an G85, when the a6500 is really what I wanted in the first place.  If they just improved the RS over the a6300, then I can live with managing the over heating (hopefully it doesn't) and I think this will be a camera platform to build on for a few years.
