  1. Very sad. One of the very best.... Most of his works would be impossible to do with 90% of the cameras discussed here. It would be a jello party. Especially the inside the car shots that he used so often. Color/ dinamic range , artifact free and good motion cadence seems way more importante than the resolution/detail way cameras are taking. Sad that digital bolex went out of production. It would be ideal for this kind of filmaking...
  2. I also find the footage has very strong jitter. Any idea if it is wrong shutter speed. Not good motion cadence.
  3. 1- For the same FOV and same lens aperture ( diferent lens on each sensor ) the crop sensor has more DOF than a full frame 2 -For the same focal lenght and same lens aperture (similar lens on each sensor ) the crop sensor has the same DOF but less FOV than a full frame.
  4. No, you get more FOV : 1,08x crop of the full frame + 1 stop (with the speedbooster + 92% mapping) versus 1,5 crop of the s35
  5. Very nice footage! Is it J-Log? What LUT / Film emulation are you using (if any)? Did you soften the image in post? Thanks
  6. Are those people martians? Seems like they have green blood.
  7. There's footage from this camera that looks horrible ( like those yellow highlights that are present in many youtube videos ) and yours that looks quite nice. Is the J-log + grading that's avoiding this? Thanks mattias for the review
  8. There's a huge difference in the green hue ( in the leaves). The last one looks more like the 1DC.

  10. The LX100 seems to have huge problems because it tends to collect dust on the sensor. You will have to be very carefull with it.
  11. I've used the 10-18mm STM in the 3x crop mode quite a lote with the T3i. The image is then free from artifacs and aliasing. For me these are far more problematic than the softness. You get a soft but quite solid image.
  12. I don't these Luts at all. Ruining otherwise great footage. Horrible stuff
  13. I would like a GX8 with new sensor (more latitude) and full video specs like GH4 + cine Gamma profiles and better sensor stabilizer for video.
  14. Thank you for the review Andrew, great camera and nice footage. You should work more on grading techniques. I find this terrible. Looking how great painters made color balance in their master works is one of the best way to start learning IMHO.
  15. 16. Great resolution! But the reds are completely off. There's purple all over the place. It can be the grading though. 0:55 and 1:52 look too strange to me here. Compare it to a normal photo below
  17. Buy the 10-18 stm and use the 3x crop mode all the time. No moiré , no aliasing, you can sharpen more the image in post this way, if you need it.
  18. IMHO too much contrast in the video makes it less usefull as a review samples. This "grading" hype is, again IMHO, destroying some lovely footage all over the internet. I stil can't see if NX1 is a good camera for color and latitude from the posted videos. Nevertheless, thank you for the footage.
  19. It has been announced in Japan : http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sony-a77i-officialy-announced-in-japan/
  20. Thanks Andrew for the review. Will it be possible to use a teleconverter with this camera? That would make it far more usable for me.
