thank you ! I was starting to worry because my diffusion filters perform different on my a7s and nx1 and I heard it was because the filters were designed for film & not digital and the same applies to film vs. digital lenses

because I need a lens set optimized for my digital body. Its a high megapixel sensor so im trying to see if it makes more sense to purchase lenses designed for digital or stick with my film lenses

Does anyone know if its true that using film lenses on a digital body the lens is worse than it would be on a film body ?

i've never used c-mount lenses but I hear they are incredible. They sport a very unique look ! Anyway anything under 2.8 should be good. The voigtlander f0.95 were my go to lenses

It's soft when you pan but the moment the image is locked down and stable the sharpness cranks up. Funny I never had this issue when I used to transcode the h.265 files. Hopefully its not my specific cam body

Oh. I was thrown off by the fact you said that the canon 85 wasn't a good lens. Didn't know you meant it wasn't a good lens in comparison to the Otus which pretty much outclasses the majority of lenses available for purchase to date.

yeah its in that video ! You notice it on the edges of objects. I think this issue has gone unnoticed since most people choose to shoot stabilised or on tripods

Thanks for the feedback everybody ! Does this mean handheld shooting is out of the question ? When I say jerky motion im noticing thinggs like cars going from one side of the frame to another sort of stutter. Will upload video as soon as I can

Lately I've been shooting a lot more with the nx1 since we've received native support from Adobe. I shoot mostly everything handheld and I notice an issue similar to when the detail setting on Sony a7 cameras are cranked up. When panning or in my case the handheld motion the image can go soft temporarily then get really sharp as if the in camera sharpening is waiting for a static frame to apply its sharpening algorithim. As far as motion cadence is concerned I notice really jerky motion no matter the shutter speed. High or low it's stuttering. Maybe somewhere down the line I'M messing something up. Has anyone noticed these issues with the camera ?

fake 4k ? From which camera model cause the a7rii,a7sii & without question the gh4 & nx1 are outputting 4k while the nx1 is downsampling from 6.5k. I doubt this guy wants to deal with the file sizes and workflow from shooting raw with the 5d, in fact I think he has said such. To be honest with you idc what the "pros" say. You hear pro's raving about the a7 line all day. You hear pro's saying they are in love with the gh4. I can't deny that you can get a phenomenal image out of it, I just said it's overrated imo especially considering it has to be hacked and a new workflow has to be introduced to work with the files (we are allowed to have preferences and opinions right ?) And I have not even alluded that the nx1 is the perfect camera. These magic unicorn camera's don't exist. It has its share of problems like my t3i,gh4,gh3 & a7s had. I can DEAL with its problems and extract an image from it that I much appreciate. If you personally love the 5d3 more power to you. There are "pro's" who dont mind picking up a t3i. I personally cant find these dirt cheap 5d's. On ebay I see em for 2k + dollars which is out this guys budget. so to the guy who made this thread, rent an nx1 if you are interested. From my PERSONAL experience I don't think you are losing if you get one. That's it for me

.....the 5D is wildly overpriced and overrated compared to what's out. But then again you can get great images with anything. If you want full frame I'd say look for a used sony a7s or ball out and get the a7sii. 12mp is good enough for most uses especially small prints 8 x 10 to 16 x 20. Trust me the NX1 is great for both stills and video. I just came from the full frame sensor of the a7s and all I miss is the iso performance in video. The nx1 in stills is good up to 6400 with noise reduction and downsized to 16mp if you wanna be critical

Is the em5ii the newer one or is that the em1 ? Which is the best body out for olympus right now ? agreed. The tiffen filters are tried & true ! I mainly use the black pro mists and warm black pro mists and they take my footage to another level

nah I get you I'm not taking any offense to it. As per video there is just a lot of ambiguity surrounding the camera you know ? not enough tests and material to go off of but for stills it is extremely well documented and reviewed. My ideal set up for it would be the 0.64 Nikon speed booster so I can get an aps-h look with it
