  1. This would be a great move and I think create a whole new buzz about the C200, at £5800 new it is still too high for a camera without a middle codec and I would prefer the Panasonic EVA - but 10 bit would make a return to Canon more interesting for me. I have no interest in 8k of the R5 but would spend that kind of money on a used proper cine/video camera
  2. Sounds great, I'd imagine it's going to be stupidly expensive. Hope not
  3. I'm hoping the Sony announcement is for the fx6. That camera intrigues me more, and if it keeps the colour science and AF from the fx9 and prices itself under £5k it could be a winner
  4. And I wouldn't say Canon is surpassing Sony just yet - from what I've seen the Sony FX9 ($11k) seems to have at least as good DR as the Canon 500mk2 if not better - it seems to have more headroom in highlight handling

    Panasonic GH6

No sorry, still no idea what your point is or the relevance to anything I said. Too many unrelated tangents, but yes probably best if you just continue to be you and I'll just try to be me...

    Panasonic GH6

Yes eleison I'm not really sure what point you are actually making and to be honest lost interest a long time ago. You say technology waits for no man etc... and as anonim has pointed out, the cutting edge comes to m43 a long time before it does full frame - we're still waiting for that to catch up with much of what the gh5 has been offering for years. And you also say let's wait for the unicorn that is the A7s3 and lets not go chasing the latest and greatest. Am confused... Anyway always excited to see where a possible gh6 could push what's possible for mirrorless video, Panasonic are always trying to provide the best they can as opposed to Sony's recent regurgitation of 8 bit overheating jello vision
  8. The AF pulsing seems to have been fixed on the XT3, have never used auto iso though, always got exposure manually not sure I'd trust any camera for that
  9. A C100 mk2 would be great but would love it to have 10 bit rather than just the 8 bit that is in the C200. Have been spoilt maybe by the GH5 and XT3 and would feel 8 bit is a backward step in 2020. It would allow for better use of the different c-logs
  10. Great value indeed, apart from the 30 minute limit and the strange headphone scenario I think I will eventually replace my XT3 with one of these (once they start turning up used anyway). The IBIS will hopefully be improved with firmware updates, seemed a little twitchy compared to the GH5 I've used. I imagine the XT4 is going to need a new cage as it seems slightly bigger than its predecessor - been looking at smallrig cage for the XT3 but may just hold off if I can't use it on the XT4
  11. This sounds like it will be a great camera, and that finally Canon are not holding back on video specs after so many years of utter crap with their dslr and mirrorless offerings. I don't care about 8k and would rather they go the same way as Fuji XT3 and get a great 4k image from 6k sensor My major concern is price - the last time they put decent video in a small form - the 1DC, they then priced it way out of reach of us mortals and failed to support it properly. So it became a non event until years later when prices plummeted. I hope they don't pull the same stunt here. What price are people willing to pay if most of these rumoured specs are true? That many people bought the severely crippled EOS-r at the price it is makes me think they can charge whatever and people will still buy it because it's a Canon. Again I really hope they've changed and that this camera sets the new bar for both video quality and value for money
  12. Is there any idea on price? Any mention of 10 bit, couldn't find it?
  13. Yep, I couldn't give a shit about 6k, just give me IBIS, flippy screen, better battery - the 30 minute limit removed, full size hdmi, and an easier 10 bit to edit would be icing on.the cake but I don't want anything that will push the price too high. The XT3 is a great camera that just needs a few improvements, big difference to Canon who are finally coming out guns blazing after all the crap they've been serving up these last few years. The R5 sounds like it will be a great camera too but at a much higher price with big heavy full frame lenses required. I much prefer the sleak svelte Fuji system
  14. The 1st line under the video says 'test of the leading full frame, 4K+ resolution cameras'. I agree the other 2 cameras should have been included but the guy has already said he couldn't get hold of the S1H
  15. EOS-r doesn't do full frame 4k Shows Alexa is still top dog by quite a margin
  16. make the screen flippable and cut the 30 minute limit too please
  17. fuji xt3 if you can stretch that far. oh sorry didn't read the whole thread if you absolutely need IBIS then one of the Panasonics. Otherwise xt3 with I.S. lens is hard to beat
  18. The terrible RS is very disappointing, it made the Eos-r useless for my needs and was hoping the 1DX3 tech might make it's way to an Rf mirrorless. Not interested anymore
  19. am curious why you need full frame - (and I think there is a bit of a crop anyway, 1.3ish?)
  20. yes is full frame 60p 4k worth that much to you, particularly when you don't get the Af and have to use a big lump of a camera with no evf, flip screen, internal nd, xlr audio, waveform etc
  21. I wonder how many of these will be bought purely for video. I would hate to have to go back to using a dslr for video
  22. Well played Canon they finally seem to be awaking from their slumber. Not interested in this specific camera as it's far too big and unwieldly for my style of handheld video, with no evf or flippable screen - but a smaller more agile Rf version with similar specs would possibly convince me to come back from Fuji
