I've been consdering buying used mk3 for the same reasons as you, so I'm glad you started this thread. I'm wondering as squig suggested if it's worth waiting 'til the announcement/release of the mk4 since that is guarenteed to lower the used price a bit...

I think the kid is just young and stupid and probably wants a new camera really bad or something. It comes across as an impulsive deed, not something structural, because we have all of his personal information (address). His confessions online. I found his brother and sister online, all of his friends and three of his professors at school. He comes from a good family and a good school. Right now it's still contained to this forum, so he can still make it right before it spirals out of control. PS what happened with Philip Bloom @jase?

For me the built in monitor is very useful. The pocket can be shot as it is. The Micro Always needs arms, cages, multiple batteries, etc. Pain IMO.

Definitely to much. I passed on one for $1300 with less than 10k clicks and a battery grip.

I was one second from buying a 5D again today. They are now way bellow $1.5k and closing in on $1k. Before I thought they where a good option to the bmpcc/bmmcc. But at these prices I think its even a better option.
Full frame Raw with slowmo, long battery, lots of on screen tools, rugged, takes stills, shoots compressed as well, decent audio..... And no Moire! Its a very affordable and powerful Raw cinema camera.
The only thing that made me finally pass is that I think it will be even cheaper after the 5Div hits the market. And when it does, me and my $10 m42 prime lenses are waiting

Nope, I work as a producer. I don't even own anything digital from Fuji, I do however have about 100rolls of Fujicolor and 1000 feet of 16mm Fuji at all times.
But I have shot with Fuji's in the past and really enjoy them. 
Here on this forum I'm just having a conversation. That does not mean that I work for the company I'm currently discussing. Specially since I said I was likely NOT to get it at this point. People are always free to ignore my posts or suck an egg if they don't like them
Kinda like Canon. My theory is that they are holding back a little because releasing overheating cameras and dodgy Log is bad business. Either do it right or not at all.

Yes. It's a decent lens and has quirky triangle aperture. 
That seller is notorious for giving wrong/misleading information though. Also that price is fairly high.

Jpegs are fine in the same way that avchd is fine. But if you don't want crushed shadows and blown out highlights, then Raw is the way to go.

What a shame. Imo the most complete cinema package and most bang for buck one can get for raw video. Way more suited for pro work than a Pocket and also much more fun for the enthusiasts.
But, like it or not, its pretty logical. They only make one model and sooner or later they need a new one or pull out.
I actually have mine out for sale, thinking I can buy it again sometime. But now I'm gonna rethink.

I'm not saying otherwise. I'm just pointing out that raw, in photography, will let you push the photo to it's limits further than jpeg will - if you know how to do it properly. There is a point where jpeg's flexibility ends but raw's doesn't. That's where you see the difference. If you don't know how to make it past that point, there is no point in using raw.

Or Panasonic LA7200, those focus through adapters much easier to film with, but you're not getting the same bokeh that 2X lenses produce

Wait until you get to fuji 8, 17 and 35 then :D . If you do the measurements it's simply not possible to fit these lenses with no modification to the lens itself.
I know you can, I'm not saying it wont work, all I'm saying is it doesn't look proper and you can't then easily/quickly just unscrew it from the adapter and put it on another camera.

You haven't been in this conversation that's been going on for two years, if you had been I don't think you would think so.
When a person basically calls anyone who doesn't shoot 4K or more exactly a Samsung NX1 an "idiot", " hack", "uninformed", etc and never stop and think, not for one second, that people just might not agree, then one will get a few cheap shots.
I think you need to lift your eyes a little and realize that not everything is about you. I never said that 4K automatically means low bitrate. I was talking about one specific camera. I myself use lowbitrate consumer 4K all the time.
But I don't think Tarantino and Spielberg are stupid idiots who would switch to a NX1 for their movies if someone showed them one. And if they rejected it go on to calling them "hacks".
But maybe your right, maybe it won't be an intelligent conversation. A bit patronizing, but maybe your right.
