My name is Cosimo Murgolo born in Italy on the 5 of september 1970, I am a flight attendant with a strong passion in music  video and travelling 
I am a happy family man of 5 kids and live by the lake Maggiore no far from Milan.
I started as video maker years ago, but I still  need to learn a lot, I am also involved into experimental electro music.
I play acoustic and electric guitar in the free time.
My favorite guitarists are  Robert Fripp , Jimi hendrix ecc ecc
I love anamorphic lens but I still have to learn a lot. I own a sankor 16d, an isco animex s8/2x and a schneider cinelux bought recently.
I am a happy owner of a 5Dmark iii which i bought last summer and I own different vintage prime lens.
Mine is just a hobby, but I would like to do some short movie and other stuff to earn some money.
I own a macbook pro  from 2009 where I struggle to edit my short video, I use AE , premiere pro, but i would like to use resolve da vinci.
At the moment I cannot afford a new computer so I have to wait and save some money.
I spend a lot of my time read and learn from this forum.

It's good to be cautious, there's no need to be paranoid and start accusing people.

There hasn't been any mention of sending money in advance. It's still just a list with people that are interested. This could work perfectly without sending money in advance by the way.

I do think if you are sending money in advance for this item collectively as a group on this forum to get some form of discount,
then you should find out exactly who you are dealing with.
 
I have said this before no one knows who anamorphic shop are.

As one of the Mod team on here just be cautious and know who you are dealing with when you send money.

Material & production cost is not everything. You really have to count the time and effort needed to manufacture a unique product.

I wouldn't spend countless of hours making something custom as this. I'd rather pay a price premium for the time and effort someone else has put into making the product, since I don't have the time to do such customizations myself.

Same thing with the Dog Schidt Optiks lenses I bought. I could probably spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to mount Helios lenses to my Nikon camera and find some really cheap Helioses in auctions. But DSO lenses were affordable enough that I rather pay for someone else having spent time to figure out a solution ready-made for me (besides the other custom options provided by DSO).

When it comes to my Ultrastar, it's pretty much lying in the shelf, useless since I can't be arsed with the alignment and dual focusing. This product would finally make it useful. Of course, I'd rather see that the price is as low enough as possible, but I can still understand that for a custom unique product like this - there has to be some kind of price premium for the effort that went into making this.

How do you know this FM lens is cheap to manufature? Nobody has seen it in real life.
 
And does the price matter? The maker can ask whatever he wants, even if it costs only $5 to make.

Hey folks. Last month I spent a week zipping around Tasmania in a small camper van. I shot a lot of footage on the way with the 5D Mark III and will most likely be my last footage shot with the camera as I recently got the Sony A7s.
 
I really enjoyed shooting, and it's my favourite compilation of footage that I've shot as I had so much of it and so much diverse landscape to choose from. Problems? That sharpness, crispness, and the bulk of the camera for travelling.

What do you pay for? It's just a Vimeo Channel... you can't actually upload anything right? I just see Vimeo vids...

personally I like to set my project up with a frame size of 1080 tall, and with the width stretched from 1920 to whatever my final unsqueezed image will be. So for a 1.33x squeeze anamorphic lens I multiply my 1920pixel width by 1.33 and end up with around 2553pixels. granted you cannot export a h264 compressed file bigger than 2000px wide, but you can export uncompressed Mov's at full 1080x2553px if you have the means to play it back. exporting at 1920x1080p means you end up with black bars at the top and bottom meaning your added pixels are resized down to fit the smaller export frame meaning your height is divided by 1.33 (800px or so) but this is quite nice because it ends up sharper than your preview window.

Importing the footage into premiere I then right click each clip in the preview window and chose modify. you can then apply a stretch to the clip before importing it into your timeline - freeing up processor power because the footage is not not having to be stretched in realtime.

4:3 will be better than 16:9 with the 2x anamorphic adaptor. - as long as it uses most of the sensor and doesnt crop. the 2x de squeeze will then be closer to 2.40:1 than if you used 16:9 sensor mode. Even in 4:3 mode I would probably crop away a little of your edges to get the footage less wide. 2x on a 16:9 sensor is silly wide, and even on 4:3 it looks too wide for me. Dont get too concerned about loosing visual information on the sides - your GH2 is very detailed so will not suffer as much as if it were to be done on a lesser camera:)

Potentially in for this.

It does look pretty good. Better than I would have expected for sure. But at this point in the game, I don't really understand the frustration with the ML workflow and file sizes. Why not just use a program like MLRawViewer to quickly and non-destructively color balance your shots, apply a LUT if desired, and export to ProRes 22 or ProRes LT? Sure, it takes some time to process your files. But at least that way, the massive MLV raw files never even have to touch your hard drive, and you've got a cleaner starting point.
 
Also, media is getting more affordable. I was surprised to see that KomputerBay 256GB 1066x CF cards have come down another $100 and can now be purchased new for $300. 
 
Unfortunately, there is no hack for the lack of an opposable LCD screen on the 5D. In my opinion, that is the most frustrating thing about the 5D3.

Absolutely, raw is still a benchmark for ultimate image quality. Let's be clear, I'm not denying that.
 
For me, now it's all about how close we can get to that beauty....but with more practical solutions like the GH4, A7S and D750.
 
I am over regular raw shooting now, as I ran out of space at the local aircraft hanger where I stored my hard drives.

This was a total experiment, as i hadn't really road tested this combo too much & definitely not in a chaotic run'n'gun situation like this. The main problem was allowing the band to take care of recording the sound, which they inevitably messed up, yet again! So the sound is from another gig...
