  1. I am still using a Mac tower, had a look at the new imac specs and decided to wait and see what the new mac pros have to offer. The "trash cans" have been poor sellers so hopefully the new mac pros will be much better design.
  2. A6300 cooling fan.(Also very handy to trim those little hairs coming out your nostrils)
  3. Hi Germy1979 there is over 950 posts here regarding the X-T2,as well as other threads
  4. I like your footage Vladimir have you seen this ???
  5. TrueIndigo "I did lapse recently though, and got the G7 because there was a good deal going on it, presumably because it's now an outgoing model. At £380 for the body, I think it must be the cheapest new camera I've ever bought. After experimenting with various Mods to the Natural picture profile and Daylight white balance, I'm seeing an image not so different from the Nikons which I love. Way back I bought a GH1 when it first came out, so I still had a lot of MFT lens adapters and enjoy using my vintage Nikon AIS prime set. My main reason to buy it though (after a long time shooting video with DSLRs) was not so much about image, but a usability consideration: the opportunity to have a high res EVF for hand-held shooting (using a pistol grip to hold it to my eye). Feels like shooting Super 8 all over again, and I actually enjoy using this little camera. I think you can't underestimate how important the usability and pleasure of actually picking up a camera becomes, now that image quality is so good on almost everything. " Kubrick loved his Arriflex 35-2C because it was so portable.....the jolly thing weighs 7kgs(14lbs) with 200 feet of film !!! We take for granted camera and lens under one and a half kilos and small enough to be inconspicuous in public places
  6. Nice one JCS !! The speaker's skin tones look quite natural on my monitor. Does "Boots" have any interest in sculpture ? only some dogs are creative and artistic.
  7. PannySVHS Nikon color science and Zeiss goodness making the older Nikon D4 shine. Should be even better on the D750 regarding resolution and much better regarding quality of codec."At rainy day cafe Nikon D4" Blue sniff's out of focus backgrounds look pretty effortless with this camera and lenses. "By the way, not much cool video footage out there with the Angi-Tokina 28 70 2.6-2.8. That has to change, I bought one yesterday!" I have just bought one as well -testing it to see how much "Angi" genes it's inherited.
  8. Hi Ed, I love both your short films on "Charlie Chicken".Are you still developing the choreography from 1.37 onward in Charlie Chicken Canine Artist ?? cracks me up every time I watch it.
  9. The guy that runs "Nikon Rumors" says this is a fake story.see https://nikonrumors.com/2017/06/06/about-that-fuji-helping-nikon-rumor.aspx/#more-112703 Some of Nikon's director's with old fashioned mind set should be replaced.Good quality third party lenses are also cutting in to their lens sales.Frank Glencairn retired his Nikkor 50mm f1.4 AI and now uses Samyangs ! https://frankglencairn.wordpress.com/2014/09/30/roaring-50s-50mm-samyang-zeiss-and-nikon-comparison/
  10. Hi tupp, Thank you for your comments.I should have stated in the first post we never shoot this footage.Whilst watching it I came to the conclusion that I'm too obsessed with trying to shoot "in focus" and for a genre like this ,"vague focus" still captures the rythm, mood, arty colors, people enjoying themselves and the band. "All the "shoot-throughs" and CUs are great, but I have found that it is often beneficial to also have a full-length, clean, wide shot of the entire band from which to cut in and out."Yep there is hardly any footage of the band playing together as a group. Also found your post on "The Young Victoria"
  11. I was just looking closely at this music video and rather surprised that much of it is out of focus.Welcome constructive comments(Take your minds off new cameras !!!!)
  12. Oliver Daniel.Richard sure is a legend,it's only four years since he was selling lenses modified for flares on ebay for US $150 a pop.It seems a pity that he closed this down in going for a much higher market. Much of his old vimeo content is still up with various lens degredation/enhancement
  13. "The Cooke Book and A Cooke Look Back" free 74 page pdf for bed time reading http://www.musitelli.com/site/files/Cooke_Histoy_Book_by_FDTimes.pdf
  14. There is some cool footage in here Wolf33D -my favorite is the pink/orange cloud sequence at 2.44.I don't think I would have the energy these days to do that amount of hiking and climbing.
  15. There is a guy in the Ukraine that sells customized lenses called "IronGlass".on ebay His Helios 44-2 aluminium follow focus gears are US $25.00 each and much better than a lot of plastic ?hit
  16. Decent footage from the Mini Ursa 2.6k changes to a harsh contrast towards the end
  17. Looks pretty cool Matt ,first run through I felt it would be more effective editing it down to perhaps three minutes Glad that you are open to doing community shoots ,they are a great way to extend your video /audio skills and try different shots and mic placement etc.Our suburb has a custom car and motorcycle show in the park each year which is good fun to film.
  18. A replacement for the D7100 can't be to far away considering the D5300 was the first Nikon to get Expeed 4 ten months ago.7100s still being sold with Expeed 3 and both entry level cameras have more capable processor -go figure .

Will fungus transfer to the camera sensor from a lens? Yes fungus can transfer to the sensor ,have a read of this http://www.outdoorphoto.co.za/forums/showthread.php?21254-Fungus-inside-DSLR-Camera-Body-(5D)-what-to-do
  20. Very tasty. You must have been busy getting all the different shots with one camera. How long will the Doc run ????
  21. Very good choice of music ,I also like your camera work .Could be improved by Painting a broader picture of "Quite Rain" by including shots of the rain clouds and landscape, slow motion close up of rain drops falling in a puddle etc. Also more on the environment responding to rain -birds playing in puddles, flowers saying "Thank You" etc.
  22. Very good thirty minute interview with Gordon here
  23. It would help if you told us what you intend to shoot Indoors / Out door ?? Low light ?? Drama .Nudes ??
  24. ED = extra-low dispersion glass elements, reducing chromatic abberation. Not reducing the price of the lens, unfortunately. AL = aspherical elements, used in wide angle lenses to get a flatter focus field and better corner/edge sharpness. Like ED, it costs more. IF = internal focusing. Only glass elements inside the lens moves when you focus, the rear and front elements keep in place. The lens keeps the same size at all focusing distances. A bit more complicated for the engineers, thus adds to the price of the lens.
