The incompatibility with other lens brands due to the long "F mount" flange distance is also vanquished, there are some great old manual focus lenses Minolta,Pentax,Miranda ,M42 mount etc -
Their new 50mm F1.8 Z is far from being a simple design, even compared to the 2011 release G which was a significant step forward from the old film era AFD lens.
-
And generally less vignetting and better edge resolution than the F1.8. lens.
-
Nikon's new 50mm f1.8 Z is 12 elements in 9 groups including 2 ED glass and 2 aspherical elements should spank Canon's current 50mm f1.8 which appears to be the same optical design as their 1987 "film era" basic six elements in five groups.

Looks like he has been shooting video on Nikons right back to the D800 https://vimeo.com/coreyrichproductions -
Try buying a Canon EF 50mm F1.0 second hand they often sell for over US $4000

Nikon USA are listing the DX Nikkors as being fully compatible with the FTZ adaptor. They aren't much use on full frame so I am assuming there is DX mirrorless with Z mount in the pipeline. https://www.nikonusa.com/en/nikon-products/photography-accessories/ftz-mount-adapter.page
-
It thought the pic was the new lens adaptor but it is the 180-400mm with built in x1.4 Teleconverter weighs only 3.5kgs !!! will she take the strain ????

I don't see how Nikon could afford to develop 4 new mirrorless cameras and keep up with updating the D5, D500, D7500. They are not a large company with deep pockets. Unless they are just going to throw in the towel on DSLR's? The reality is they can't afford "not to".It also probably means their new FX mirrorless lenses will be useable on DX with a few proper DX primes
-
Thom Hogan says there are four new mirrorless cameras coming two FX and two DX.Why would they abandon DX when it represents 80% of their body sales . https://www.sansmirror.com/newsviews/and-we-got-both.html
-
Ibis is one of the question marks,if they don't include it they aren't even matching Sony on a feature for feature basis.

Nikon's first teaser video for FF Mirrorless is on their site https://events.imaging.nikon.com/live/en/ The glowing ring makes the mount look huge but if you look close it is smaller than the glowing ring
-
Focus throw of the AI is 210 degrees compared to only 140 degrees for the 50mm f1.4 AI-S and AF and AF-D. Minolta's vintage F1.4s also have a vg reputation for video

It is really about "mine is longer the yours".

Andy Lee is supposed to be doing a short film using them, unfortunately he is not on these forums much these days. The guy at "Ironglass" could probably put you in contact with him.

I know several retired chaps that have had enough of lugging around bulky Full frame Nikon and lenses and jumped ship to Fujifilm APS-C. Nikon and Canon both have small light DSLRs as well but seem to have treated APS-C as the ugly step sister undeserving of a proper lens lineup. Fujifilm have a huge headstart too-the fullest range of proper APS-C lenses -14 primes,10 zooms and two cine zooms. The X-T3 is supposed to be announced at photokina with new sensor and processor, Nikon will loose more of their existing customers if they continue to allocate minimal development to their DX systems .
