  1. Fujifilm X mount cine lenses are supposed to ship this month,B & H are showing them in stock.http://www.fujifilmusa.com/press/news/display_news?newsID=881136 At just under US $4000 each and weighing around one kg a new more video orientated body seems quite logical.Hopefully no ten minute limit.
  2. eyes wide shut "glow" https://screenmusings.org/EyesWideShut/pages/eyes-wide-shut-0049.htm
  3. A lot of "Eyes Wide Shut" was shot with a set of Zeiss Superspeed T1.3 spherical lenses mostly with the 18mm. Film stock was the "new" (!!!) 500 ASA Kodak allowing Kubrick to shoot at night using very little lighting equipment. "We decided to shoot nearly all of the picture at a stop of T1.3,and since we were pushing everything we were able to create a wonderful warm glow. We also used Tiffen LC-1 low contrast filter for our night interior scenes."
  4. Mercer -and I thought twenty was a lot !!
  5. Django do you ever use a speed booster or lens turbo with your XT2 ???
  6. Kelly I've added "Axiomatic" to my "must watch" list. Thanks for the Takumar explanation.Night footage of the motorcycle looks ace !
  7. Looks pretty cool Kelly, and music goes well with it too.You had plenty of choices for lenses so why did you use the Takumars ???
  8. The Nikon D850 doesn't use a Sony sensor you silly "Canon person"
  9. $20 for a Barbie video camera (with clothes) https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Barbie-Video-camera-movie-Girl-toy-doll-in-clothes-outfit-/182832293314?hash=item2a91a765c2:g:OvQAAOSwo4pYkFop
  10. with speedbooster XL and wide open ???
  11. Also bodes well for the D750 and D5600 replacements due next year
  12. add a slide out make-up drawer, camera then tells her she is looking very pretty-That sure would improve Nikon camera sales to women
  13. sondreg and Teemu -Thanks for your helpful suggestions. It is easy to misplace a card unless they are stored properly every time.
  14. My present SD card storage I just scratch a number on the back of the card and keep them in a storage wallet which holds 22 cards.Has anyone come up with a better system than this.? Has anyone tried SD card labels ????
  15. more Nikkor goodness Manly Jazz festival
  16. An Amira mini that weighs only around 1 kg would keep me going until the "Grim Reaper". The new EVA1 is only 1.2kg .
  17. Your friend must be keen to have purchased a second Red one.I am in the opposite direction -try and keep the camera and lens under one kg-that way it's easy to do shots at ground level or one metre over your head with a monopod. Also makes it easy to attend events around Sydney using public transport.
  18. That sure is a bargain !.It may suit your friend's style of work but 9 to 15 kgs fully rigged out is no small puppy.
  19. Super short on "The Wrong camera" made by Paul Ream extrashot.co.uk
  20. What a handy gadget-ballons to diffuse sunlight http://www.cinematography.com/index.php?showtopic=71898
  21. http://www.afcinema.com/Darius-Khondji-AFC-ASC-sheds-light-on-his-retrospective-at-the-Cinematheque-francaise.html?lang=fr
  22. What of legend of a track,! you are fortunate have such close access to the cars and drivers. The slider clips look really cool. Music to car fanatics is the "pure" sounds of these engines in the pits and racing sounds so background music only in parts please! It's very irritating filming at air shows when a Spitfire does a fast low flypast and the stupid commentator talks through the public announcement system the whole time ,along the lines "a Spitfire has two wheels at the front and a small one at the rear'.
  23. looks like a real Buzz Dave, like the piece about " keep being a student"
  24. Yeh Phil 650gms is on the bulky side but manageable. The latest Nikon and Tokina 24-70mm f2.8 zooms are much worse ,they have bloated out to one kg and you sure notice that with a days filming.
