  1. "full details" not really, we miss specs, price and availability, basically all the details
  2. Tamron announced 2 new FF lenses for Canon / Nikon / Sony A: The SP35mm F/1.8 VC USD and the SP45mm F/1.8 VC USD. Info and samples here: http://tamron-new-sp.eu/#/ So, why game changers? First world FF 50mm equivalent to be stabilized, a game changer for video. Concerning the 35mm, it is a first for Nikon too. Only Canon has a 35mm IS but slower. World shortest MFD for the same focal length: 0.2m (7.9 in) for the 35mm, (0.4x magnification, almost like a macro. For eg, the 100mm Zeiss Makro Plannar is 0.5x). This is huge in photo & video and super nice to have on a 35mm (for creativity and new perspective)First reviews are mind blowing (bokeh & sharpness). Sharpness is apparently on Sigma Art level.Cost is reasonable: 600USD. Considering stabilization and optical quality, I am fine with the price. First reviews are mind blowing (bokeh & sharpness). Sharpness is apparently on Sigma Art level. Look at the samples above... Bokeh and detail wide open look promising. Your thoughts?
  3. You can't feel that attacked that you even looked up for all my other posts in this forums, quoted some and answered them to try to put me down? Lol. Feel free to spend your time doing that! Concerning this topic it is not my fault if Ebrahim tried nicely to explain something like 10 times and that you still ask / argue / repeat same questions as if he said nothing, which is a lack of respect. Ebrahim gave a decent list, he even offered to help on specific models, again...
  4. Incredible thread. Anyone who argued with Ebrahim here should seriously consider speeding up their neurones instead of speeding up their footages.
  5. Agree with you. On a French forum a guy compared weight of A7R II + 5 usual lenses (35 1.4, 55 1.8, 70-200 ...) and compared with Canikon equivalent, and the total weight difference was only a few grams. Still, better gain a few grams than nothing I agree (at the expense of ergonomics..?) For me the biggest pbm with DSLR is the mirror and OVF and poor live view AF performance. Otherwise ergonomics is good, lenses are good (want cheap and light, take canon 50 1.8 for exemple, want expensive and big, take canon 50 1.2... Lots of choice) ..
  6. Imagine 5 years from now ? Clean 4K at 240 fps in 10 bits, fully stabilized 16 stop DR sensor, with clean 100k ISO. You guys have GAS and are waiting for the new A7000, 5DIV or one of those stuff. Me I am waiting for A7R V, the real king. Not purchasing a camera until then. No way I shoot this silly 4K24fps at non-clean 12800 ISO, or shoot stills at 14 DR stops only.
  7. Yes people still read DXO. Yes some people who do video also do photo You thought wrongly. And if you passed this area and do not care at all about DxO, why did you bother clicking on a thread called "A7RII gets DxO marked", and even worse, comment on it?
  8. Better DR at higher ISO value... LOL this was the argument of canon for years saying there sensor is better than the Sony one. Otherwise for the first comment above, yes I agree 13.9 is enough in real life. But when you pay 3200 in the last camera you are sad to get one stop less than D810, obviously. And as you mentioned the worst is with long exposure.... And don't get me wrong, A7RII is an awesome camera. I have the feeling 3200 is not the right price considering those quirks.. 2500 certainly.
  9. Very good and clever review. Indeed this is a hell of slowmo camera and for 4k there are better options out there. one thing you forgot to mention is that if a6xxx comes with same slow mo and/or a7sii then these two RX become useless.
  10. DxO tests the A7rII sensor: Is the new king of Full Frame (by a hair) Well amazing low-light and color depth. Low light was expected. Very disappointing DR, considering an APSC Nikon D7200 does better here, not to mention a very old D5200 (200$ camera) has the same DR. And D810 is a full stop better (huge...). By the way, I shot 2 weeks with a D5500 and I was surprised by the DR for an APSC sensor. I could get good pics from one exposure, unlike on 5DIII. For me DR is super important. Example of a D5500 shot with the trees at the botom that were completely 100% black (image was underexposed for the sky) completely recovered : https://500px.com/photo/116251089/star-over-assiniboine-by-loup-fsr
  11. Looks like a winner (sharper than the Sigma ART, see the comments of 1st link, better bokeh and consistent AF + super strong weather sealing + new optical tech) But pricey. Announcement: Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II EF 35 f/1.4L and EF 35 f/1.4L II MTF Comparison
  12. The A7000 was due in spring (official leaked sony roadmap) but did not come because of heating issue. If it would do 4K internal at 30fps only, then it would no be an issue (A7RII does it, and it is 42mpx FF) so the only answer is that they want 4K60fps and have heating issue. Let's hope it means 4K60fps, and if yes, then .... let's pray for clean 240fps mode. If it does at least 120fps 100% clean and 240fps 90% clean like RX100IV, then it saves me 950$ from buying RX100IV, and it does it with a bigger nicer sensor (don't like the 1" DoF look)....
  13. You can pray forever. A7S never gonna be 24mp. At best 18mp. I think 18mp is becoming enough for stills, 12 is very limitating.
  14. If this is true, then we got a champ. http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sr3-sony-a6xxxa7xxxx-has-a-new-backlit-sensor-and-rgbw-pixel-array/#disqus_thread My personal opinion: It will indeed do 4K @ 60fps and become the best 4K cam until the A7SII is unveiled either at same time either in a few months with same 4K60FPS but on Full Frame sensor. Now I don't care about 4K @ 60fps, too much data for me. I prefer 4K24p and 1080p clean for slow mo. The question is does 4K @ 60fps means a clean 240fps mode in 1080p (even for 5sec max)? If yes, then the camera is a killer. Basically a FS700 for 1200$ and super small.... I can dream.

    Pilotfly H1+

Use the samsung 16mm pancake, 72gr. Or the 20-50mm, 119gr. Will work perfectly fine. No need to have a big zoom on a gimbal.

    Pilotfly H1+

impressive. With RX100IV, looks even better

    Pilotfly H1+

Big drawback ? Man this product takes 1.2kg, this is huge. It is a small portable gimbal. It is like saying my gopro gimbal has a big drawback, it does not take a 1DC.... You want heavy things? Get a Dji Ronin M. Or use prime. A7RII + 28mm is perfect for instance. Dugdale can you post some footages with A7RII?

    Pilotfly H1+

The new pilotfly H1+ is out with dual 32bit IMU. I think this is a game changer. Put your A7RII, RX100IV or D5500 on it and you get pro stabilized footage. Lots of creative possibilities (hyperlapse, fast movement while shooting in slowmo, ...) What do you guys think?
  19. Yes. Used pros: Price (vs new) / warranty if recent and with receipt (almost never the case on ebay..) Used cons: Never know how it was used by the previous user, so it is a bit of a gamble Grey market pros: Price also, the camera is brand new you are the first user Grey market cons: No warranty except going through the dealer himself I would take grey market over used for same price. I need something better for the pictures though (that is why A7RII fits the bill, as well as D750 + RX100IV). Another idea is D5500 (450$ grey market!!!!) which is 95% as capable as D750 for video and photo + RX100IV with the idea in mind to re sell it either right after the trip or in a year or so. I did exactly this (D5500) for my july trip in the rockies. Got a Sigma 10-20mm for landscapes at 250$CAD on eBay, sold it with auction 2 weeks after and it went for 350CAD$, made a 100$ profit without asking anything ....
  20. To the people who said it is because of lightroom, or that LENR is the answer: http://www.yannickciancanelli.com/sony-a7r-ii-long-exposure-issue/#.VdlkxLSn_88 LENR softens the image and makes 2 times processing time. Capture one does not change hot pixel issue.
  21. Indeed. Except the Canon 35mm f/2 IS, great lens, super light, super quality and IS. Great for video. Also I said the 5D4 would be ideal because of Canon ergonomics that I prefer and it will most probably have 4K (unlike Nikon bodies now) and Dual Pixel AF (this is huge for me for travel video). For the Tamron 24-70, I had the 5D3 before with this setup and did not like it. I prefer primes. Your idea of buying the Nikon D750, with let's say used lenses and sell it in one year if the 5D4 is amazing is good though. It's true that buying an A7RII now means selling it for 1000 less in one year when A7R mark VI is out....
  22. Interesting feedback Andrew. when I read this it makes me want to wait the 5D4 but 2016 is far... I will be in Cuba in December already. for 50% photo / 50 video (landscape, portrait, travel video) would you recommend the a7RII or D750 + RX100IV ? (Grey market D750 is 1399$ brand new....) what annoys me the most with D750 is that if I get 35/50/85mm G lens I basically can't use it for video as it is not stabilized... Otherwise I love the idea to have HFR, sharp 1080p on Nikon for DoF and the RX100 for 4K / anything wide. Ideal would be 5D4 and rx100 (I prefer canon lenses and canon ergonomics over Nikon..) but 5D4 will be more expensive than a7rii... what do you think?
  23. Well thank you. But this is not precise at all, and in most musics the beats is not clearly heard which makes it super hard to do. Is there not anything like a plugin that can analyse the track and automatically place markers?
