Your last two posts are very helpful Andrew. So it seems S35 of R2 is as good as FF of S2. Definitely last problem remaining is the 120fps (but my girlfriend just ordered today the rx100 IV so it seems this problem is solved for me as long as I don't have a new GF!) concerning the colors, could you please do the same test as above but with a7s in cine4 pro and cinema colors , and also no PP and autumn leaves? a lot of people like Philip bloom, Brian lee and so on made amazing video with those profiles and colors seem better than slog. People seem to always thune slog only but I think it is a bad reflex because it does not suit well those 8 bit codecs

Just thought about something. CanonRumors says in his last article that 5D IV will not have for sure 4K video, but that 1DXII will. I mean, 1080p is 5DII old, so 2008 old for Canon 5D line. If 5DIV is released in 2016 (and it will), 5DIII lasted for 4 years. So let's say 5DIV is a 2016-2020 camera. Do you seriously imagine that in 2020, the Canon 5DIV has 1080p video, same technology as 12 years old 5DII? That seems so ridiculous and impossible for a flashgip product. Well.... I can't wait to see the answer on this one, and I can say one thing, if 5D4 has no 4K I won't ever buy a Canon product my whole life just as a respect to myself, not giving money to a company that shits on us as much as this. Andrew come on.... First, Is 15mm to 24mm a 3x crop sensor ? I do not think so. Is it changing the look? Not much ;). I would never use a 35mm and crop to 85mm because yes here you would have a crop sensor not nice look. Because of bokeh and so on. But at 15mm for landscape.... 0 bokeh. Just nice to be able to crop and still retain perfect details value. My work for stills is landscape. So it makes sense for me to have an A7RII. For video I do travel video mainly, so yes A7S II means more sense even if S35 is just fine for me on A7RII and FF mode is 90%usable. That is why I am hesitating. I would say that the feature that I miss the most is 120fps clean. So I said ok I buy RX100IV and A7RII so I have this 120fps clean. But then you realize you spend 4000$ and come the question well, for 1000$ less with A7S II only, you just loose the resolution for your landscape, does it worth it? As you can see, my dilemma is not that easy.. BTW shouldn't you sleep at 4:30 in EUR?

Anyway I am interested. Because I just ordered the A7R II. And my need is 50% video and 50% still... I have the feeling 12mpx is not very enough. Also 42mpx is amazing for exemple : use a voigtlander 15mm as a 15-24 for landscape just by croping... AF is good also.

Appart from low light you say A7S II FF output is way better than S35 of A7R II ??? Does not seem like it from the samples.

I used first FCPX, then switched to Premiere (for some reasons but the main one being the easy workflow with After Effects dynamic links) and now I switched back to FCPX a few days ago because I decided I would give it a new try. Things I like about FCPX: ergonomics and timeline, clip organization with easy keywords and so on Things I like about Premiere: After Effect dynamic link Lumetri and overall color grading But I just found out the plugin Color Finale on FCPX is exactly like lumetri in better: basic color correction, lut utility, curves, ... So I tried the thing at photo plus for some time. Spec wise it's excellent, even amazing. Material quality, excellent. and that's it guy. Don't even bother with this shit. This is probably the biggest scam I have seen for photo for some time. it is incredibly big, incredibly unbalanced and heavy. I have big hands (I am 6"5) and I could not handle the camera at all with the enormous kit zoom. On top of being physically not ergonomic, the software is horrible. And there are 4 buttons on the thing, yes that's it for buttons and then it's all about touchscreen. Honestly even for 2000$ I would not buy it. I was amazed with the specs for a Leica at first, as wee see specs are nothing...

I have had the d5200/500 and the T6i and there is no contest. T6i video is non usable and far behind d5500. d5500 is the best camera for the price. Just as the d750... But I just ordered a a7r2 because I need 4K. Wish I could have a 5d4 or. D850 with 4K

Worst post I have seen on any forum by quite some time. I don't know if the guy is full of shit, and what you are full of, but I understand why so many camera manufacturer don't give us what we want if they have people like u working there!

I don't agree and actually prefer the colors, and I think the DR is surprisingly not bad (not big difference with D750). I mean, look at the A7R II video last shot, I did not see the difference myself until he says it... So people arguing here that the D750 is actually better are just a couple of haters. This iPhone will never replace a good camera we all know that, but thanks for mentioning it again. I am just positively surprised by the not bad quality of the iPhone compared to 3000$ cameras. Funny to see the anger from a lot of people here. Apple subject + 4K... was to be expected. What we should get from this video is that we all are dreaming. Canikon are joking on us. Seriously. Do you think it is normal to have 4K in a 650$ phone when a 3000$ pro camera does not have it? Especially considering that 4K is actually more useful to pros than to iPhone average users? 4K was there 3 years ago in a 1DC body so stop telling you have heat issue or whatever pure bullshit mister Canikon. Sony has 4K in FF, in APSC, Panasonic in M43, in Phones, in 1" RX100... 4K is in all size of sensor and body. So instead of putting your anger on the guy of the video, on me, or on Apple, put it on Companies like Canikon, conservative non-inovators that cripple $$$bodies for marketing and money. The 2nd thing I see from the video, is that 4K on iPhone looks really nice and is gonna be useful the day you need to shoot this thing but you forgot you camera.

If only Apple could release a FF mirrorless camera with 4K and super intuitive menu (basically the back of the camera would just be a full touch screen).. But this won't happen.

Biggest challenge for 4K60p is heat dissipation. D5 is a huge body. If canon could do 4K30p 3years ago in a D5 body (1DC) don't tell me it cannot be 60fps on D5

This is totally plausible as Nikon does not have an "EOS line" to protect, and we all agree they have been pushing a little bit in video since last DSLRs (D810 and D750 with specific cine package, flat profile, clean 1080p) so I assume they would bring video killer features on the D5 and then push it down on the other models, it makes sense. Plus they have the A7RII to fight now and 4K is everywhere and if this body is supposed to last 3-4 years they can't go without 4K. Well, if those specs are true that is good news for us because: - It means the next affordable FF (D750, D810) and APSC will have those feature next - It will push Canon. If Sony has 4K but no canikon it's ok cause they try to make Sony look like a spec oriented geek company, but if Nikon has 4K@60 fps and Canon releases 1DXII and 5D4 without 4K, then they will look ridiculous.
