  1. Lol apparently not hard at all. Let me quote the Author of the first video "I don't use S-LOG 2. Too flat for me. I shot this on Autumn Leaves creative style, contrast -3, sat 0, sharpness -3. Dynamic Range Optimization (DRO) Level 4." "Hi, very little grading. Mostly just a bit of highlight and shadow adjustment and sometimes adding warmth to the color." So please, stop bashing a product when you don't know, common people will read your BS here and could take it for granted.
  2. Lol Ebrahim A7S is "horrible colour"? ... If you think this: https://vimeo.com/116044343 and this : https://vimeo.com/118014639 is horrible, then get new eyes. But before you do so, I would like to see a video from you as nice as those exemples with any camera in the world (a F65 with its amazing color if you like). Thanks.
  3. Sony will focus on 4K very high frame rates, high DR products for consumers, coming from professional. In other worlds, we will soon see Sony's product with approaching FS700/FS7 slowmo capability for decent price. A7S II anywone ? http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/aims-for-worlds-highest-resolution-system-camera/

    How's Andrew Reid?

Why are we fucked? We are not his girlfriend
  5. APSC camera oustells FF because it is cheaper, and the mass sales come from standard people, not the passionates or the pros. You guys are very funny. Say a system is not dead because it ranks good on Amazon. LOL . . . Steve Jobs would be shocked in his tombstone. When I say APSC is dead I am not talking about Amazon ranking, I am talking about THE DIRECTION photo and video is taking, and this direction is towards FF and not APSC which sets the death of APSC. Of course it will sell on Amazon this year, the next year and year after. You are very funny ....
  6. When I see the video I can turn HD on/off but no sign of 4K. The author says it is 4K but I guess he refers to the resolution he shot at.
  7. Where did you see 4K ? It says you get FHD on the page. I am thinking about it as well... because the 150$ card of the deal is never expiring
  8. My friend with some "IF" we can re-build the world ;). I agree that Black Magic Micro is cool (and as I said in my last post, M43 are interesting because AT LEAST they really have the possibility to be small like LX100 or BM micro ..). However for me it's a no go due to lack of screen (if you add screen and cables you loose the compactness and weight and so on, except if the screen would be integrated). I liked your wish list though. But man... come on, you forgot the slow mo. What would be YouTube without slowmo?? give us 240fps with FS700 quality. I talked to a Canon manager today and he told me the 5Dc will be very agressive (4K at 60p and FHD at 120p, Canon log, same codec and bitrates as the XC10, 18mpx with very good low-light and DR). Just joking.
  9. Well, in reality the equivalent DoF aperture is 6.4. I would rather shoot 6.4 on FF with higher iso than 4.0 on APSC (and benefit from higher sharpness from 6.4 vs 4.0) especially with a body like the A7S that is SO good at high ISO that the image would be even cleaner. So I answer you, why would you private yourself of amazing FF possibilities for creativity (super swallow DoF), amazing high ISO, and way better stills capability, STILL HAVING the opportunity to match 1.6 crop mode, and DoF (by stopping down the lens as said above) ? EDIT: I am not trying to flood here, I am just trying to understand people arguments for going APSC. For now my point of view is that those people are conservative and reluctant to accept benefits of FF (because they can't afford it or don't own it or just convince themselves they did a good choice going APSC, or some other reason).
  10. So for photography everyone agree. For video, you all seem to point one advantage of S35 over FF : DoF because FF has too swallow DoF. But wait, can you not just change your lens aperture ...? You want more DoF well shoot F5.6 instead of F4 and this is it ... This allows you to have the same DoF of APSC but at the same time have : more sharpness, less vignette, .... You will tell me what about low light and I will answer you that considering Full Frame is better at high ISO, just bump the ISO to compensate the aperture and you get exactly same speed and same DoF as APSC (with equal noise because you augmented ISO but FF is better than APSC for that). So I don't understand your argument at all. FF offers you very swallow DoF when needed, and just stop down the aperture when you want as simple as that (and compensate exposure with ISO). Then there is only the lens size argument left. We come again to what I said, if you want absolute smallest size get M43 like black magic pocket or LX100, etc. Otherwise an A7S even with FF lens is not big, especially for filmmaking. Not to mention bigger cameras where the lens size does not matter. But APSC you get still big lenses (Sigma 18-35) ... Almost same as FF. Plus most of the people on APSC use FF lens because they invest in lens (like all canon famous lens, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm ...) so this argument is again, a non sense for me.
  11. Well .... FF is becoming very cheap (under 1000 USD). Performance wise, a lot of people think APSC = FF, well just check this : http://admiringlight.com/blog/sony-zeiss-fe-35mm-f1-4-vs-fuji-xf-23mm-f1-4/ Quite incredible considering how sharp is supposed to be the fuji (super lens + no AA filter + Trans X sensor said to be as good as FF) ... Incredible Bokeh difference too NOT to mention the horrible noise on Fuji Bokeh at low ISO !! I am quite blown away by the results actually. Even Sony admits it: Zeiss interview makes it clear Sony’s focus “is moving” from APS-C to FF. Only advantage of APSC today: cost (not true anymore, soon) and 1.6 crop for special use (not true anymore with high mpx body, 4K, and APSC crop like on the A7S for example)... Not even speaking about M43.... which is ok for video but horrible for photography. M43 can remain good in fixed lens body such as LX100 where the size is a big plus. Otherwise a GH4 and A7S have similar size so the sensor is not anymore very linked to body size.
  12. Andrew, any idea if they develop it for FE mount? Sony A7 series is cool, but lenses are damned expensive. I mean, 800 bucks for 55 1.8 when Canon just released the new 50 1.8 STM for 169 dollars ... (I know the 55 Sony has better IQ but still). I was reluctant investing in Sony FE mount (get A7S with 3 lenses) until Canon show what they have to offer (5D4, 5DC, full frame EOS-M,...). Well investing in Canon glass (best glasses, lots of cheap ones, remain value used, big used market) with this adapter on Sony A7 bodies could be an idea.
  13. The result is incredible. I wish all all mirorless would have such an AF. I don't like the NX1 because I need FF and there is a poor native lens choice, but the internal 4k of this camera and AF... Wow
  14. First of all the image looks up scaled. Secondly the image on ZEISS matches for printing and 300dpi. So this could explain why they upscaled the image. I agree Andrew that there is no V for video. However there is in mind of people that is why put 4k in a A7R before A7S would not make sense in marketing, except if it is a A9 marketed as the A-limousine. Let's hope I am wrong, if Sony gives a 59mpx A7Rii with IBIS and 4K I give them all my money right now.
  15. There is no debate here. Who the hell would buy this camera for drone, when they can have a BM micro cinema camera, perfect for the job (lighter, RAW, lens flexibility, 2 times cheaper even with lens) ??? This camera is not for drone use. This camera is a April fool by Canon that came a few days too late. Can't wait to see the 5D4, and / or 5DC to see if Canon is officially becoming a pure shit player and going to death (not speaking about video only, but sorry even for stills a D810 is 100x better than 5D3, just to mention the 2004 like dynamic range) or if they are back in the game (5D4 with 4K, or 5DC with exact same video quality & 4k as 1DC for 3500USD, which is possible if you look at the 5DIII/1DX image quality and price difference).
  16. Well. In my opinion: Sony had the A7 for basic FF, A7S for sensitivity and video, A7R for resolution. They had been rumored to release a PRO body A9 that do it all (4K, 50mpx, pro material and AF...) but this makes no sense. How can you call an A7R the best camera for resolution if behind it you have a A9 with more mpx ? Plus pro does not mean 50mpx. 50mpx is a super specific usage yes, but does not mean pro. So in my opinion, Sony should have A7R for resolution : with 50+mpx such as in this ZEISS picture, and A9 with best class AF, best class sensor (25-38mpx), best ergonomic and 4K. If they release the A7R to be 36mpx + just new A7ii body and stabilization and then a 50mpx A9 then it's a joke and a pure marketing fail. That being said, I disagree with you Andrew. For me there is no way the A7R II will be the first A7 body with 4K... How on earth can they then market the A7S??? Either A7S II will be the first to have internal 4K, either A9 (justified by the fact it is the A series limousine).
  17. I can't believe no alternative have been announced at nab ?? I tought we would see price drops or 32 bits alternative and tons of pistol gimbals
  18. lol, the flaws you list are the flows of MAKING my solution, not the flows of the product itself. No cable needed because the grip comes right in the battery compartment and the HDMI output. Basically the grip plugs into the HDMI directly. If BM would have done it (like the Ricoh in this thread) or if someone does it then this solution is ten times better than having a bulky external recorder with 2nd power, cables and so on. You can list 2000 flows or pros it won't change that! Now if BM did not do that it must be because they gonna put the same spec of the micro in the pocket body very soon. By no way they marketing around the micro show it's a pocket replacement. So let's see..
  19. Ebrahim, 4 big flows with this solution: - the BM screen is also recorder, add cost and bulk for nothing here - requires a cable : hideous and not convenient on a hand gimbal like nebula 4000 - requires battery for the screen - where is the grip? with my solution you have no cable, LPE6 battery powers the screen as the battery is in the grip.. It is a completely whole different thing and I can't see why blackmagic misses the point there...
  20. Well I did because I was interested in backing. When you complain about new canon and Panasonic can we don't say negativity, just your point of view (that I agree with in this case). Same thing here, just exposing my point of view on this project. FPS and spec is amazing, I just have the impression it is more a experimental product than else, and also the footage don't lie and on my side I found the 3 footage videos very very bad.
  21. The main reason I did not back in the first place is because of the footage that looks absolutely terrible, IQ wise. Looks more like an amateur garage made product than something pro. Well you will tell me the Apple 1 was made in a garage too... :)
  22. Andrew, they are not more valued because of this in my opinion: this camera is in between the pro and enthusiast Pro will get C300 like. Enthusiast like me would like A7 body, or maximum 5D. The 1DC is too big, and it just has a beautiful image. No slow mo like the FS700 or special feature to make it a huge success. Enthusiast will not put 4000 euros for this big body and will get A7S instead for instance. Pro will get FS7, C300.. I actually don't see the market for 1DC..
  23. Who is launching this on kickstarter first? a small hand grip with back LCD that goes INSTEAD of the LPE6 on the camera back and screw in the bottom mount. And you now put the LPE6 inside the grip. just imagine a perfect pocket camera, you remove the grip/lcd when used on drone or helmet. If I had resources I would launch that right away, can't belive black magic did not think about it.
  24. We will see a 5d 4k. Either 5d4 either 5dc. it does not compete with c300 (no ND, smaller bitrate, less input output,....). Canon cannot stay 1080p for ever. It is like saying last canon dslr were 720p... They moved full hd they will move 4k, and they cannot wait 4 years from now a 5D5 it is impossible. So it maybe won't be 5D4 who arrives soon but 5DC next year at NAB..
  25. Take breathtaking huge landscapes with your telezoom as I can do it on a 21mm and come back to me. Is it hard for you to understand why wide angle lenses exist and why some people use them?
