BM micro cinema : a gopro with RAW and better sensor. Amazing! Wait, S16 sensor, how on earth do I get super wide angle with my M43 lenses and a S16 insane crop sensor... No worries, BM gave us a dream camera, x times better. The same micro, studio. Add 4K, M43 sensor (perfect 2x crop) for only 300 bucks. Wait... This camera can't even record internally. Why not make best of both world with the same camera and just a SD slot? The Micro cinema should not exist, only the micro studio with SD slot... Also, where is the Pocket 4K? I mean, we all want a M43 sensor with 4k like in the 1300usd micro studio, in a pocket format with built in screen.. So frustrating, black magic innovates a lot with insane prices, but do half of the job :(

Let's see! Don't forget this camera is not an A7, it will be out for 4 more years. Explain me how on earth 2 years from now the 5DIV would look like, between only 4K 1000$ DSLR around. A7S did not have 4K internal because of heat (easier in a 5D body...) next will have. in 2016-2017 all cameras coming (even D5400 like) will have 4K. Good luck to Canon if 5D4 does not have 4K. I bet it will have it, and I bet that video will be a top feature (like the rumor says, C300 tech). At least EITHER in a 5DIV body, either a 5DC (as they seem to split their line with 5DS...) but it does not matter. I might be wrong of course, but let's see in a couple of months

[CR2] It is not surprising to me. Canon was with the 5D2 the first good dslr for video and made a revolution. Since then, we saw nothing from them on the enthusiast market. They put all efforts on 10-20k $ market. Now that they are well installed in this market, with super nice cameras (for sure the C300II will be a HUGE success even with the price point) they can come back on DSLRs without to much risk to kill their own product. A C300II is not a 5D... a Pro using a C300II would not use a 5D body EVEN if it has the same "quality" of video in 4K. Also, the 5DIII is FAR inferior to Nikon D810, so it is time for them now to do a step. If they just improve AF, and 28mpx ... Who will buy the 5DIV ???? People bought 5DIII because the 5D2 AF was insanely shit. The 5DIII AF is very nice, no really need for the 7D2 one. Who cares about the 4 mpx ? Maybe they increase the DR ... But it would still be just a D750 then, for 1500$ more... On top of that they have 5DS that focus on resolution and not video (like sony A7R). The 5DIV will be a work horse, and will for sure have 4K, and will be the best DSLR up to date for video, unfortunately it will be heavy (DSLR...) no EVF (DSLR...) and expensive (Canon..) so it won't be mine. But it will be impressive. My 2 cents.

It must be a joke, this camera is sooooo 2010. We want a miroless camera from canon that compete A7S. Native EF Mount, 4K 60fps, 1080p at 120fps, IBIS, 16mpx, Full Frame, in the size of A7S with canon 5DIII body quality, and Nikon/Sony like Dynamic Range. That is what we want, not a 1" f5.6 fixed lens 2500USD stuff.... seriously. I am mad.

- 3 axis gimbal like nebula 4000 and pilot fly H1 but with 32bits and not 8 bits, for 500 USD. - FINALLY a camera that can do everything: portable, IBIS, good still quality, good video quality. The D750 does that, but not portable as I hear it. Basically I want a Sony A7 II with internal 4K (and no shity compressed raw for stills). A7S II will be 4K internal but still 12mpx, too low for me for photography. I just want an A7II with internal 4K and the raw problem solved. That would be EPIC. Am I the only guy in the world who needs a super small (mirrorless) camera, that is full frame and does best class stills, and video? ....

I am also super interested in D750 / NX1 detail, DR and color comparison for tele shoot (video portrait) and video landscape (with tons of details in the scene). Also 60fps comparison would be nice. Thanks !

What a joke !! Was really interested in the camera but they are out now. Quite unbelievable... So no one in their company no engineer no people no one actually realized they sell something worst than EM1 which is already shit in term of pure video quality??? they must be jokin. I would not buy the a7s today if you plan to keep it a long time. Sony has a very fast release and buying the first version is never a good choice. The A7S2 will have the same sensor but same improvement as the a7ii : ibis, better ergonomic and 4k (thanks to better processing power and bigger body for heat). You don't need sources for that, only logic, to say that is 80% chance to come. The A7RII is coming in maximum 2 months. So if we don't see an a7s2 in the next 11 months I would be extremely surprised.

Looks like 2015 will be good for video. The E-M5 will have 24p, 60p, 77mbps bit rate and we just got this FT5 rumor by M43 rumors : "Some em5 mkii info not yet shared. Big upgrade to image stabilisation especially in video mode – takin it to the next level. Nothing else like it." Also, according to Canon Rumors, the 5D mark IV (coming after the 5DS this year) will be video oriented replacing the 1DC , with 4K. We will also get the A7S II with internal 4K and IBIS. What else do we need ?

Hi, I am looking for a camera which does 1080p at 240fps, anything except the FS700 that cost an arm ? Budget: 2500 for the body. If it does not exist, then what is the best 120fps 1080p camera ? And, either APSC or FF, I do not want M43 or lower. Thanks

it is such a shame ... I just wanted it to be same video quality as D750 and same 5 axis as OM1 ... :(. So again and again I still don't have the camera I want ..

Great article. Exactly why I sold my 5D3, and will move on Sony A7II or A9. Even in photo, quality is awful (compare 5D3 sensor and D810 sensor and you will see what I mean) ... I mean what the hell on earth is this fucking company selling us 5 years old tech for 3000 dollars ? WAKE UP PEOPLE, STOP TO BE FOOLISH. Canon makes big margin because foolish customers buy from them with eyes closed, because Pros have Canon .... BUT pros have canon because Canon was good before, and pros are not gonna change their system in 2 seconds because of their lens, compatibility and so on ... But be sure that in a few years, pros will go out, consumers will follow, and Canon will die IF they continue like this. WAKE up and speak about it, just like this article. Buying Canon today is a mistake. This company did not evolve since 5 years, while others are innovating every 6 months. My 2 cents.

Now the BIG QUESTION is does this camera has the same video quality (except from XAVC & slog2) as D610 and A7, or does it have the sensor and video quality of D750 ??? If it is D750 video quality, then we have the best world camera for me. Amazing still quality (24mpx full frame 14 stops DR) Amazing video quality (60fps, D750 video quality, SLO2...) 5 axis IBIS Mirrorless and compact Decent price ...
