You're probably right about him not receiving a pre-order, but the guy does have a few feature films in Hong Kong, maybe that was his ticket?  Either way, he's got camera, and we dont make those decisions... ?‍♂️ Your post make it seem like you'd be happy if no one get's the camera because you didn't.
Anyway, It's your site, I'll leave you to it. No more responses from me on the matter.

I use the one that you can download for free from the foot notes with this video. It works well.

Andrew, you are cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Blackmagic really don't owe you anything for any 'free publicity'. Their Pocket 4k has started a frenzy among the camera world stirring up conversation and leading people to discuss it on forums, maybe you owe Blackmagic for making your site and this thread so popular? Maybe you owe all of your forum members here for contributing all their content here  and making this site popular. Maybe you owe John Brawley for his contributions, I know I read this thread mainly because of his input and presence here...... Silly, I know, but the tantrum you seem to be throwing could also be seen as a bit silly too.
Seems like nothing really new came from the event and maybe BM didn't think you would want to do an unboxing video...?
Your reaction here only serves to diminish your character and reputation and by snubbing the camera based on you not receiving a pre prod version for testing or not being invited to one event. It might also suggest that you can be easily bought which is not what most people want out of an online reviewer.
Who knows, maybe a marketing person at BM didn't think it appropriate to invite someone who seems brand focused by being call EOSHD?
There are so many reasons why you may have not received an invite....
    Just my 2c.

Though honestly, maybe... be better at networking? Don't have to go as far as these self-proclaimed YouTube reviewers that are mostly asslickers. But for sure keep tabs, keep on the radar.
I'm not gonna get upset if I'm not invited to Timmy's birthday party and refuse a treat when he does a round of treats in class because of it. That's a little petty. That's just the industry, I mean... must not be the only company not inviting you to these hands-on events. Seems Kai was in London for the Canon EOS-R event... were you there as well? Got invited at all?
It's like skipping dinner as a protest because earlier on you weren't allowed to eat a cookie. A bit unnecessarily stubborn. The only person that it really effects badly seems you.

With a little lot of temporal noise reduction, I'm getting some pretty impressive results out of this sensor.
Granted, there are some artifacts from the heavy NR, but it still looks quite usable to me.
Shot 30 minutes after sunset. For an idea of how little light there was, look at the headlights on the hill in the background at the start of the clip, the various phone screens you can see throughout, and the city lights in the background towards the end.
I haven't owned any of DJI's previous drones but I have a hard time believing any of the 1/2.3" sensors would have been able to get anything remotely looking like this.

Been lurking in this thread since the announcement. Thought I'd throw my hat in the ring and put some color on the footage. I wanted to color it with the least amount of lift to get it looking good, so I chose colored it within Premiere only using the available Lumetri Color panel. No sharpening or grain correction (adding or removing), no HSL Secondary, just color. My rationale for this being that I think the BPCC4k would fair rather well on shoots for a media company who's main delivery is YT/FB/.Com etc. This is the world I currently work in professionally, and the skill level of a video team in that world can vary greatly.

I think it fairs pretty well without going with an extreme pro level of correction, with fairly minimal time spent. Which is exciting when I'm thinking about projects where the deadline is tight.

I emailed B&H today asking about the status of the Pocket camera and where I was in the pre-order line. Here's the exact email:

Here is their response (my emphasis):

Disappointing, to say the least. I agree that if they are late again, they will be nothing short of a laughingstock in my mind. It's completely unacceptable. I think we were all very surprised to hear them announce a July shipping date in the first place, but we figured, well, they must be very serious this time, surely they wouldn't allow themselves to even come close to repeating the debacle of the BMCC?

Short of a very thorough and apologetic explanation, failing to ship in July will just make it look like they have a corporate policy of deception and enjoy lying through their teeth to their customers, especially since that they were (at least publicly) so sure it would be shipping in July less than a month ago.

Meanwhile, I am hearing that samples that have been sent out to John Brawley and the New Zealand guy above do not even have RAW functionality yet, and that this may be coming in a "future firmware upgrade." If they end up shipping the camera without RAW recording ability, I will be even more shocked and angry than if it ships late. I put $1000 down for this camera for its RAW ability, as nice as the ProRes footage may be, and failing to ship with such a significant advertised feature will be nothing short of false advertising.

I don't think Blackmagic got cash advances from dealers from the preorder stash. Some dealers didn't charge a deposit. But I'm 100% with you on the sentiment. I can't support what Blackmagic are doing here and I'm seeing some very concerning cracks open up in the lines we've been fed. To deliver 12 months late is one thing. To look for all the world that they might do so for the 2nd year running on 2 more products is even worse. Delivering below spec is absolutely the cherry on top of my dissatisfaction with the way they are doing business. If you are holding out for a raw firmware update on the Pocket which you have paid for, just bear in mind that the BMCC has had no significant features added since it was announced, not even audio meters.
